The member of staff at the counter at the airport was polite and friendly. She explained the contract to us clearly. We were given an upgrade in vehicle class and an upgrade regarding the fuel policy. We appreciated that the staff member accompanied us to the shuttle bus. The German-speaking member of staff at the pick-up point was friendly and helpful. He explained how the car worked to us. I found the BYD SUV difficult to operate intuitively. Switching to the Toyota was quick and easy. When I returned the item, the member of staff was also friendly and the process went smoothly. Thank you for your customer-friendly service.

Everything fine. Polite and helpful stuff. The booking process was really easy. The return was without problems.

We travelled as a group of four on a golf holiday to Portugal and had booked our car with Sixt at Faro Airport. The booking and payment went through without any issues using my Revolut credit card.
However, when we arrived to collect the vehicle, we were told that Sixt's terms and conditions do not accept Revolut credit cards for the security deposit, even though the same card had been accepted to make and pay for the booking.
This was extremely frustrating. My question to Sixt is: why accept payment from a credit card when making the booking, only to refuse that same card when the customer arrives to collect the vehicle?
The only other card I had with me was a debit card. Because the Revolut credit card was not accepted for the deposit, we were required to take the full insurance cover at an additional cost of over €700. This was not an optional extra for us — it was the only way we could proceed with the rental using the card we had available.
We tried to find another rental company, but unfortunately they also wouldn't accept the Revolut card. We even tried to use another member of our group's credit card, but unfortunately it had expired. With very few options available, we had no choice but to continue with Sixt, use my debit card and pay the additional cost.
As a result, we lost a couple of valuable hours at the airport and it put a real dampener on the start of our holiday.
That said, I would like to give Penelope Serra a special mention. She was extremely helpful, professional and patient throughout the whole process. She genuinely tried her best to find a solution and get us the lowest possible price. I couldn't fault Penelope — she was simply following Sixt's procedures.
So, my criticism is directed at Sixt's policy and the way the credit-card restriction operates, rather than the staff. I would strongly recommend making this requirement much clearer at the time of booking. If Sixt's terms and conditions specifically exclude Revolut credit cards for the deposit, customers should be made fully aware of this before travelling to collect their vehicle.
Thank you to Penelope for doing everything she could to help us. She deserves recognition for the way she handled what was a very frustrating situation.
I will certainly be ringing ahead in future to confirm exactly what cards are accepted for the deposit before renting a car.

Quick and easy.

I had an exceptional patient server at the counter, as we had to wait for my wife to find the SIXT desk at the airport.
He helped in finding it and was so friendly all the time, while we were blocking the counter for quite a long time.

Sixt Ireland always provides excellent service from collection to drop-off.
Staff are warm, friendly and give clear instructions.
Car drop-off is conveniently located just a short distance from Dublin airport with a frequent shuttle service at the customer’s disposable.

Most importantly, Cars for rent are new, clean and perform well. I would highly recommend Sixt over any other car rental company!

The Staff and Management were a joy to work with on my arrival they followed through on there word .

Although long queue at the counter they were really efficient and friendly. My rep was called Alec I think and he was excellent. I use Sixt often when I need to rent cars overseas

Had a great experience with Sixt. The car we rented was in great shape and clean. Pick up was fast and easy. Returning the car was also fast. They make the process very simple. I recommend using Sixt.

The car rental process with SIXT was very easy and efficient. Great welcome at the airport and efficient process to pick up and drop off the car. We had some administrative issues in Galway that were entirely managed by SIXT. Great support !

The whole interaction with Sixt was excellent. I was assisted by Tiago, at their desk at Dublin Airport, he was very professional and friendly, he took time to explain everything and answer my questions. Their drop off service to pick up the car from and to the airport is very straightforward. I got the car I had requested, it was clean and I had no problems with it. At the drop off the person checking the car again was professional and friendly, he checked the car and explained what would happen next. So, I would absolutely use Sixt again and would highly recommend them to all my friends and family.
