I am not a machinist or a parts designer but I had a dream of designing my own metal pendulum and then having it made for me. I worked with a CAD designer to get the design how I wanted. I found Xometry online and decided to go with a Laser Metal product to first see how that felt in my hands and using it. The process with Xometry of choosing the material and method for having it created was straight forward enough even for me a novice to the industry. I received my finished pendulum prior to it's initial delivery date and boy am I loving what I am holding now in my hands. Thank you Xometry!!

BAIT AND SWITCH.

Second order, identical to first (two months prior), was nearly double the price. Eager customer service clerk assured me I'd selected different materials. No, I didn't. Replied to clerk with screenshots of the two orders, and customer service fell silent. No response.

Recently tried again, this time using an international vendor option promising roughly two-week turnaround. Within a few days, order is delayed by over a week.

Xometry does not get a third chance. Plenty alternatives; China has never let me down. Too bad. Quality was good first time. Last time.
