We hired a car for 7 days. Called the shuttle from Wellington airport and it arrived promptly. Other family members hired from airport companies and were held up for hours. Lost booking, incorrect hire vehicle.
Our rental process went smoothly both on pick up and drop off. Their shuttle between the airport and company was very efficient connecting with flights well.
The vehicle was clean and well maintained. The staff were professional friendly and efficient. I highly recommend Mode car rentals. You wont be disappointed.

We were happy with the vehicle. It was easy to pick up and fun to drive across the country. They had fast responses to inquiries which was helpful.
Only negative - we missed not having cruise control.

We had a great experience with _Mode during our recent roadtrip across both islands. Easy and prompt communication and timely pickup from the airport, as well as friendly staff at the rental office locations made it easy for us to handle the rental. Vehicle was in a great condition.

On Oct.11 i hired a Toyota Corolla for 19 days and found the car to be reliable,economical to drive and most appropriate for my holiday.On collecting the car and making a visual inspection i did not notice a dent in the windscreen pillar until a day later and also some paint had ' flaked ' off near the left headlight.I knew that i was not the cause of this damage and had been advised that photos of the car had been taken prior to me collecting it. On returning the car i explained to the MODE representative my observation of the damage which was ' preexisting' and was greatly impressed that my contention was not challenged and i was advised that the pre hire pictures did show the damage to be ' preexisting '.I can say that in all i had a most satisfactory experience with MODE, the staff were courteous and helpful and hopefully i will be back in NZ again next year to again be a MODE customer.I left with the feeling that ' what is not to like about MODE.'

We were practically stranded when our initial car rental fell through (the branch literally shut down just before our booking) but __mode rental, with their excellent customer service helped us, even giving up their lunch break. Would definitely recommend and use their service in the future.

Great rental experience with an excellent vehicle and easy pick-up/drop off.

The whole process was relatively easy, staff helpful & friendly. We chose a hybrid due to high fuel costs & it performed well. Hire cost was good compared to other companies we checked.

I enjoyed mode rentals. I used my AAdvantage points to help purchase a rental through Mode. At first I was unsure about getting a rental that's off the airport property, but mode offered shuttling between the airport and the rental space so it was easy. I think what makes mode better than most is that their staff was very nice. I've been to a lot of rentals and sometimes the staff can be cold and do not offer help, but mode does. This is in spite of hearing that some of the locations lacked staffing; the staff still enjoyed working there and were kind. Li and the shuttle driver were the only two staff members I really got to interact with, and they were very helpful and got me in my rental so fast compared to other rentals too where it can take hours. If there was one thing I would change though I would probably try making the safety deposit lower. I know for a local car rental company it can be risky to make the security deposit lower, but if there's a way to reduce the security deposit that would be nice. Not as big of a deal since you get that money back anyway, but figured I would add that. My deposit was $3000 NZD or ~$1700 USD.

Friendly and quick-thinking staff made for an efficient and enjoyable experience. They supplied a straightforward rental for getting around town at a decent price. On returning the car, the company rep buffed out a mysterious graze which saved me money - rather than charging me and buffing later.

Professional work. Good value for money. Recommended choice.
