The car was great. Cheap and clean but the bond was astronomical. They literally took 3k NZ out of my account and though I took the car back last week the 3 thousand is still not credited back to me account. They say 5-10 business days but this has put my credit card in a terrible position. Won’t do that again.

My experience with this company was absolutely brilliant. I booked a relocation which was a total bargain. I thought I was getting a medium sized car but ended up being given an SUV. I didn't realise this was a possibility and totally panicked when I arrived to pick up the car as I've never driven an SUV before. Sunny was really kind and patient with me and took me out for a drive to calm my nerves. This gave me the confidence to go for it and I had the best week exploring the North Island. Everyone I spoke to or met at Mode was so lovely and their rental terms and conditions were much easier to understand than any other company I looked at. I will be recommending them to anyone who travels to New Zealand.

Wir haben ein älteres Model von einem Toyota Yaris in Christchurch für 30 Tage gemietet. Hatte alles gut geklappt. Das Auto war in einem guten Zustand. Der Preis war gut. Wir werden das nächste Mal wieder hier mieten.

Good experience with Mode rentals. Couldn’t get through to the depot to pick us up from Queenstown airport so just had to wait until they came to pick up another group but the car was good and everything went smoothly

Van had a flat battery in the remote control for central locking but apart from that she was 100 %
The man on Duty at drop off was there early on Sunday morning to accommodate our early drop off and shuttled us promptly to the airport 👍
Amongst the rush my Son misplaced his bag and the kind gentleman dashed back to the depot to check and returned it back to the Airport for us..... very grateful 🙏🙏🙏

Everything went smoothly, staff helpful and friendly. Car worked well, and we had no issues with it at all. Dropped off at different location and that process was also easy. Security bond returned immediately after drop off and shuttle provided to airport was also nice. Would happily hire from Mode Rentals CHC again!

We rented 2 vans from Mode, one on each island, first was old, worn and had horrible gas milage, second was new and very nice. We had a tire blow out in the new van. It cost us $800NZ to get it towed and tire replaced. More than just the cost, it took 6 hours of our vacation time for Mode's roadside service to resolve our situation and get us to a tire shop - 5 of us were left on the side of the road for 6 hours! We were 20 minutes outside of a sizable city, no excuse for it taking much more than an hour to get us help. Upon returning the van I was told to my face by a Mode manager I would receive a full refund of the cost, the next day he sent an email saying they "investigated" and will not be refunding our money. The tire dealer who at the end very nicely helped us with the new tire told us the tire that blew out was a very cheap product and noted that this new van already had 2 other new tires that had been replaced and our blow out was not something the customer should have any responsibility for, on top of a day lost of our family vacation.

Easy to book. Getting picked up and dropped back to Queenstown airport was fast. Friendly staff and car exactly as expected in good condition. Very happy :)

Highly recommend Mode car rentals I rented Toyota Corolla hybrid for 10 days and it was amazing car and really good on fuel and they were really well communicated with me and great customer service.

Vehicle matched the description and we felt like we got a fair value for our money.
Vehicle was in good technical condition.
