This is the Sixth year of renting a car from B.R.C. and the have never disappointed me in any way. The Shuttle service from the Christchurch Airport always does a great job. The Service at the Agency is First Class from the Greetings, Paperwork details and the car always being ready. B.R.C. is my first choice when renting cars and will remain that way due to the outstanding service recieved.

We found the staff to be polite and friendly. Despite the car being old and the bodywork somewhat damaged, it was reliable and met our needs

I recommend Bargain Rental Cars for the ease of booking and the helpful information given over the phone. All instructions were clear, and the airport pick up and drop off was easy. I appreciated being able to add extra drivers at another branch a few days later. The car was roomy with plenty of boot space for our family. I would definately use them again.

I have rented car all over the world and this company has been outstanding, no hassles, great customer service. The car hired wasn't new it had a few knocks but it was clean and reliable, thank you for making our holiday in New Zealand hassle free.

Very pleasant and genuine staff, easy shuttle to and from airport to car pick up, straight forward hiring process. Car was clean and free from odors. Very happy and will use next time we visit for sure.

We rented on Easter Saturday from the Auckland office and although our flight was about 2 hours late arriving there were no problems with the pick up.
We found the staff to be very helpful and gave a good summary of the main conditions of the hiring contract.
The cost was much lower than hiring at the airport itself.

My children and I had a good experience with bargain car rentals, I managed my booking through emails payed my booking with visa-debit and hired a vehicle with my restricted drivers licence.
My pickup and drop-off was fast and efficient and no fuss.
I feel like the hire cost and the bond were very affordable for my 4 day hire.
Excellent service I would use this service again in the future.

We had a bad experience with this company. We hired an oldish car (10 years old) for six weeks. We have hired older cars in NZ in the past without any problems. However, we had a blowout on a road in the far north. As we did not have the fully comprehensive insurance we fitted the spacesaver wheel ourselves. However, when we got to the tyre fitters the staff told us the spare wheel was damaged because the tyre was under-inflated. We therefore thought we had better buy another wheel. However, no spacesaver wheels were available. We contacted BRC several times in the process but they offered no help. Eventually we got a wheel that would do which cost over $400 which BRC agreed to repay us. We travelled extensively in North and South Islands and on our way back to Auckland noticed a warning light coming on. There was no manual on the car, so we checked all the fluid levels and found the problem was the windscreen washer fluid, but in the process found the power steering fluid level to be not be registering on the dipstick. Luckily we were due in Auckland the next day so took the car into the Grey Lynn branch where we had hired from, who referred us to their maintenance department on the North Shore. They decided we could not carry on using the car but did not have a replacement till next day. This resulted in another day in Auckland when we were intending to go further north. It is lucky we were staying with a friend and did not have motels booked or we would have lost a lot of money. BRC promised to reimburse us for the wheel and a pair of windscreen wipers we needed to buy in the South Island but we could not get this promise in writing.
Repeated phone calls, emails and visits were fruitless. Staff were polite but could not sort our problems.
I get the impression this is a company who do not maintain their vehicles well and operate on the margins. They are cheap but be prepared to be on your own if you have a problem, especially if you are travelling extensively.
