I am thankful for videos I had to watch before the renting the van. Even though it took a long time for the renting process to take, it's necessary, looking back, to go through in detail.

An absolutely appalling rental business with inappropriate vehicles!
We rented a campervan in Darwin to drive to Broome and back. We swapped to another vehicle in Broome because of problems with the first. The second one was completely inadequate for our needs. There was no air conditioning and only one small window with a screen, which made it hell in 40 degree heat. We were forced to stay in other accommodation and returned the vehicle 5 days early. Then we incurred steep penalties to change our flight home.

Apollo completely ignored our concerns other than offering a $300 credit. As if I would ever do business with them. We weren’t offered any compensation or refund for returning the vehicle early. While their rules state that refunds for early returns are not given it seems like good customer relations to satisfy our disappointment at the very least.

I will never use Apollo again and suggest to anyone considering renting a campervan to use another company, one that treats the customer decently.

Easy pick up and drop off, well maintained vehicle, easy to drive, overall a hassle free experience.

Amazing service , pick up and drop off was smooth, No any issues at all

The overall pickup and dropoff process was relatively smooth and straightforward. The wait time could improve at pick up as it needed to wait quite a bit for our turn. Would be helpful if they informed how the pickup vehicle would look like as we missed the first one. Staff were friendly.

⭐ 1 STAR – Extremely disappointing experience with Apollo Motorhomes

Unfortunately, our experience with Apollo Motorhomes was incredibly disappointing, and we would think twice before hiring from them again.

During our trip, we experienced significant mechanical issues with our motorhome, including engine problems that left us stranded on the side of the road for hours on multiple occasions. We lost valuable holiday time dealing with breakdowns, roadside assistance and towing, which had a major impact on our planned itinerary.

Our original booking was for a 6-berth motorhome, but we were supplied with a 4-berth replacement. When seeking compensation, we questioned the difference in price between the two vehicles, only to be told that the daily rate of the 4-berth replacement was actually higher than that of the 6-berth vehicle we had originally booked (due to demand). On this basis, Apollo refused to reimburse us for the difference. This was particularly frustrating given that we had not received the vehicle we had paid and planned for.

While Apollo did offer some reimbursement for the days affected by the breakdowns, we felt the compensation did not adequately reflect the extent of the disruption, lost holiday time, inconvenience and additional expenses we incurred. Having a significant portion of our family holiday affected by repeated mechanical issues was extremely stressful, particularly when travelling with young children.

A holiday that was meant to be about making memories with our family instead became a stressful experience of breakdowns, delays, changed plans and chasing compensation.

We would strongly encourage anyone considering hiring through Apollo to carefully consider the potential consequences of mechanical issues and clarify their compensation policies before booking. For the cost of a motorhome holiday, we expected a reliable vehicle, a much smoother experience and a resolution that fairly reflected what we went through.

Sadly, this experience fell well short of our expectations, and we would not choose Apollo Motorhomes again.

Broken down at 830pm, its now 12 hrs later and stuck on the side of the road and still nothing. Mechanic said this vehicle is way past its due by date and shouldn't be on the road as the screws have been stripped. So much for road side assistant when they cannot do anything. DO NOT HIRE FROM THESE MOB.

The staff at the counter was good in explained the terms and conditions rental.

The Campervan that we have, has a bit of problem. The sink is slightly choke and also the bathroom, water didn't go down the drainage, but went to the passenger seat.

Challenging to accommodate 6 adults in 1 motorhome. Not a lot of storage room for oversea passengers with suitcases. Didn’t use the washroom and shower, the space was storage. Quite difficult to convert the seating to bed with limited instruction. Very expensive to hire excluding those extra packages they were trying to sell you.

Had a brilliant time. The motor home was well equipped, clean and in great condition. Pick up and drop off process was seamless and faster than expected. Staff were super helpful and friendly. A perfect holiday experience. Not a typical rental car experience.

This was our third time renting a motorhome with Apollo Motorhome Holidays. For our first two trips, we had Apollo motorhomes, while on this third trip we were provided with a different brand. However, the overall experience was still excellent.
The motorhome was clean, comfortable, well equipped and suitable for our journey around New Zealand. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional, and the whole process from pick-up to return was smooth and hassle-free.
We have always had a good experience with Apollo, and this third trip was no exception. We really enjoyed our journey and would definitely choose Apollo again for our future motorhome holidays. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had a wonderful and amazing holiday with an Apollo campervan hired from the THL Christchurch Airport branch.

From the very beginning, everything went so smoothly. The airport pickup was convenient, and the check-in staff were always smiling, welcoming, and friendly. The whole process of getting us onboard was easy and efficient, which gave us a great start to our wonderful South Island New Zealand adventure.

We had an amazing experience throughout our trip. The campervan was comfortable, convenient, and made travelling around the South Island so enjoyable.

Returning the vehicle was just as easy and convenient. A special thank you to Iva, who helped us through the return process in such a professional, friendly, and welcoming manner.

A big thank you to all the staff at the THL Christchurch Airport branch, including the team who dropped us back at the airport. Your excellent service helped make our holiday a truly memorable experience.

Very friendly, understanding & accommodating staff

We were left at the pick up point for almost one hour after we rang them . But once picked up couldn’t fault the driver or the staff very helpful and friendly.

Checking in and returning the vehicle couldn't have been easier. The staff were friendly and helpful. Couldn't have been a better experience.

I just wanted to send a shout out to your team member Lexi in the Perth Office, she was absolutely amazing and so helpful. Her energy was contagious and her customer service was next level. The van I hired was in amazing condition and I had a great holiday. I even got a chance thank Lexi at drop off for all her assistance and I'm glad to have this opportunity to share this recognition. Was given a 6 berth and told it was a 4 berth repeatedly. We have had this before and struggled with the larger product. It was the same this time, had to drive slowly to not chew thru petrol so fast and it was much less pleasant to drive. I told the bloke so many times, I don’t want a 6 birth and he kept saying it isn’t but he lied to me as I researched the definition after I left. We used to love these camper holidays but this trip has made us unsure we ever want to do it again. When I book a certain vehicle, that’s what I should have got. Super nice customer service but lies coming out his mouth.

Easy, quick handover
We are caravanners, so the run down of the Motorhome was easy.
Only disappointment for us was we were expecting a pull out outdoor BBQ on the Euro Quest (which shows in the video) and our MH did not have one.

The van was dirty. Electrical were not working. They tried to blame us initially until they realised there was a genuine fault. Customer service was terrible. This is the first time we have used them. We have hired vans many times through other providers. We have never had a complaint before this. We won’t be back.
