Krista from Christchurch branch is the best… she deserves a payrise.. after a poor customer service from Auckland branch… Krista made our holiday more comfortable and safe- from providing us the snow chain and heaters so that my children, mum n I won’t freeze in the cold. She even demonstrated how to plug/charge in the RV correctly as I was worried the van is not charging as the microwave won’t turn on. She explained it very thoroughly. Krista was very helpful. Thank you again Krista!!!

The service for pick up and drop off was great, the girls are lovely. Did have a couple of issues ,we had to buy a can opener along with a broom and a longer water hose.
I would have thought a can opener would be standard along with a broom to sweep out the van, the water hose we had was just way too short and was absolutely no use for anything, however apart from that our experience was great.

Being 70 plus years we thought having selected the 4 berth motorhome would have been large enough and comfortable. Having another bed above us was too confined when getting up during the night for the bathroom. I had to climb over my partner to get out and when you have another two above you very closterfobeck. Exit narrow between shower and bench. The park brake would come on at random when taking off when you start off at lights and intersections. If this is standard feature of the vehicle it is dangerous. When driving on the road very noisy rattling. Personal may or could have recommended a more suitable option for us as larger and elderly people. Pleasant person showing the vehicle orientation of the vehicle thorough.

Our experience was amazing, the motorhome had everything we needed to feel comfortable, warm, and cozy.
The app thl helped us to find the best spots to stay (paid and free).
We had a minimum accident and the staff responded immediately, and we didn’t get charged as it wasn’t our responsibility.

Tivemos total atenção às perguntas feitas durante toda a nossa preparação que antecedeu a viagem. E quando chegou o momento do nosso check-in recebemos um up grade de motorhome. Todo o processo desde início nos deixou muito satisfeitos. Voltaremos a alugar com a mesma empresa quando voltarmos para a Nova Zelândia. Um elogio especial a funcionária Carol da unidade Chrischrch que deu toda a explicação na retirada, obrigada pela paciência e atenção aos detalhes, também nos deu dicas do caminho e camping. Parabéns pela excelência no atendimento. Muito agradecida!

staff are very helpful, the process of picking up and returning the car is also very simple and convenient.

Friendly service with no fuss on pickup and delivery

Easy booking, not too expensive, staff were friendly, no issues during pick up and drop off

Easy booking process and great communication leading up to our holiday. The pre-arrival check in was great and saved us a lot of time on the day. Our Motorhome was clean, well appointed and in great condition.

Waited an hour for our van to be ready, they admitted we had been overlooked.
Photos of the previous damages in the report for the van before she left were for a different van.
Gas hob stove top isolation switch did not work, therefore leaked gas when knobs we’re turned on or leant on by accident. Burner still a light when top closed. So dangerous.
Alarm on dash for multiple times, alarming that the cruise control and ABS were disabled.

Campervan was great apart from a faulty heater switch, and Apollo staff were great to deal with

worst time table of drop off. Come on, Its a big company and you can’t been provide late drop off at least till 8pm. Shame ruined whole trip moment at last day by making me pay extra day even after i dropped the van in first hour. Worst time for drop off, need to expand drop off time. Really ruined my whole trip in last day.

Apollo is part of a huge company, THL specialising in motorhome rentals for holidays etc. They cover Australia, USA and New Zealand the latter is where we hired our van.
We picked it up in Christchurch where the staff were very helpful and had upgraded us to a Maui large 6 berth. [note you may not need the extra size and say if your not happy or comfortable driving a big vehicle like that].
The receptionists advised us on what was covered under our selected insurance extras and what was not. [advise that you do your homework at the booking time and decide what cover you require I.e. insurance then don’t be swayed during pickup.]
We have been caravaners for many years so didn’t really require a detailed handover just the main points. [advise go through everything and test everything with the handover agent. Make sure your happy first]
The location was fabulous from Christchurch Airport we met a very nice driver in the Apollo/ Maui shuttle bus who whisked us away with lots of advice on where to go in the South Island. This is a free service and very welcome. [advise it is also free the other end/way to get to the Airport after drop off.]
We were doing the south and north island so hired the van for 21 days. This provides benefits from the company i.e. no additional 1 way fee and free 2nd driver [advise useful even just in case]
If you need anything don’t be afraid to ask as the staff were all very helpful making sure you were happy and ready for your travels.
[advise book in at a local campsite for the first night just in case you need their help advice the next morning after you’ve tried everything]

The pick up and return process is smooth.

Fantastic from start to finish

The list of issues the needed fixing are as follows.
- Hot water did not get hot , no shower or hot water to wash up
-The stove top only had one burner that works.
- the side sliding door will not open
- toilet door jams
- chip in windscreen on driver's side.
- we have been given a vehicle with a bald tire that has been changed for the spare. So we don't have a safe spare tire .

We had three visits to a mechanic which had wasted our holiday time.
We have paid $10k and taken out full insurance with roadside assistance and we are still had no resolution after 10 days.

There was not sink plug which we have replaced ourselves

The electric heater did not work so we have purchased another at our cost.

We were rushed through the handover at Christchurch and didn't get to see a condition report until after we left the branch.

We were told that this vehicle was an upgrade however we feel it is not it is a lemon.

We are extremely unhappy for our loss of enjoyment of our holiday experience.

We had a great trip. The vehicle allowed a to be independent and to search out places other than the main highly visited popular locations.

Our only suggestion is to add usb connection points inside the vehicle for charging phones etc on the go and not have to wait until we were on powered sites.

Other than that - great. Can highly recommend the camper.
