We bought several hundred dollars worth of plants. They were taken care of watered and fertilized. Everything died and they didn't honor their warranty. We won't be using them again and buy local next time.

Order six ponderosa pines a year ago last May 2025. They arrived in poor shape planted them anyway, cared for them all summer and fall. They all died. Ordered four more Ponderosa Pines under the Thrive, guarantee, warranty. Planted in spring of 2026, Likewise, all I have died. Trees.com We'll not warranty These trees, so I'm just out of luck with the over the thousand dollars in tree cost and shipping.

My experience, Trees.com is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. They took my money, delivered trees that appeared severely compromised, and then failed to stand behind their product or provide meaningful customer service. NEVER use this company buy local where the proprietor will stand behind their products!
PS) Trees.com followed up to this post and asked me to contact them via the chain of emails, which I did . The Trees.com Customer Support Specialist (Maredeth) stated "So sorry ...the warranty has already expired on that order".
So just as I stated previously DO NOT use this company, buy local!!

I had a few issues with my delivery, but the customer service team was quick to resolve everything. They were super friendly, helpful, and polite throughout the entire process.

My new trees arrived safely and looked amazing! They were big, healthy, and strong compared to some of the other places I’ve purchased from—and those trees cost twice as much.

10000% would buy from them again and again and again!

Their customer service was extremely quick dealing with my issue. Very pleased they followed their guarantee.

Let me lay out the good and the bad of Trees.com (formerly FastingGrowingTrees.com);

The good:

Shipping is quick through FedEx and all plants have arrived in relatively good shape.

With my first order, when my gardener pointed out that the trees I'd ordered would be too large for my yard, customer service gracious refunded my order promptly. And since they don't seem to carry "dwarf" varieties, I had to order trees from another company.

Since I had such prompt and easy time with customer service with this first order, I decided to purchase three expensive citrus trees from them. They all arrived promptly and in good shape.

The bad:

Two of the citrus trees are doing great - lots of new growth but the third just continued to fail despite the same care as the other two. It eventually died.

I put in a request for their 'one-year' Alive and Thrive warranty. Despite sending pictures numerous times, they finally told me they could not access the Imgur links of the pictures (conveniently a day after my credit card's six month refund policy).

I literally sent 6-8 requests with the same clueless response. At no time during these initial requests did they inform me that the "warranty" requires me to pay shipping of a replacement.

Instead, I just placed an order for a replacement tree - no clue with the various discounts if it's the same price - along with two other trees in order to get free shipping.

After placing this order, customer service finally informed me that they cannot give me a refund - only a replacement with me paying the shipping fees OR a store credit.

At this point, I no longer trust Trees.com. And I do not want a store credit as it's unlikely I'll ever order anything from them ever again.

Today, I asked them to simply refund the cost of the "replacement" tree but I suspect I will get the same runaround from customer service.

It's not like I haven't spent a lot of money (close to $700) with this company and I still have other areas I'd like to put in plants but their crappy refusal to just give me a refund or insistence that I pay for shipping for a replacement has lost me as a customer.

More bad news:

Trees.com loves to advertise a lot of "deals". Use Plant20 or Plant25, etc... and your order reflects these discounts as you add more plants - you get a final amount to see what you'll be charged.

However, when you go to pay (at a different site), BEWARE that the discount DOES NOT carry over. You might not be paying attention, pay for your order and end up paying FULL PRICE without the discount. Instead, you must re-enter the discount code on the payment page.

To me, this is extremely deceptive and I suspect many people don't end up getting the correct discount unless they are paying attention.

BOTTOM LINE:

Trees.com has some good bargains, shipping seems to be prompt, products seem to show up in good shape BUT their "Warranty", extremely unhelpful and stubborn customer service and deceptive payment practices are all designed to be very unfriendly to their customers.

Buyer Beware!

And despite everything, they refuse to give me a refund and only a store credit. Gah - stubborn effers.

4 out of 5 products have been great. (Bought in different orders) The one that failed to thrive they made the decision to replace it !!

I bought a butterfly bush late this spring. It died. I got a 3 yr warranty and talked to customer service and was helped very nice. If I requested replacement now, it would have come in fall. I agreed with customer service to file warranty in February so I get a replacement before it gets TX extreme heat. I do blame this year's heat domes killing the plant. Trees.com sent a healthy plant and I am covered. Consider buying from here with 3 yr warranty and you will not lose alot of money due to things out of your control. I will put a new review next September and show how the replacement plant goes. I lost hundreds of dollars on plants from places with no guarantee. There are a few that offer warranty. I hope to give 5 stars next yr

This business is terrible, it's an ongoing scam! They send DEAD and DISEASED plants and keep asking for photos, and you get the same formula response (plants need to adapt and to give them time!).

Their 30% is misleading and a lie!
On an order of $351 they refunded only $66 which is NOT 30%!

This is what I got (AVOID buying plants from this company:

One plant came completely DEAD and is still DEAD (Proven Winners Little Lime Punch Panicle Hydrangea).

Two others are DYING (Double Knock Out Rose Shrub). We have other rose bushes here and will NOT integrate these.

Two others are DISEASED and DYING and will NOT go into our garden as they will infect our other plants. (Fire Power Nandina Shrub)

Six (6) bad plants for $351

Out of the nine (9) plants, one is doing okay so far (Pieris Mountain Fire Plant) and 2 others (Annabelle Hydrangea Shrub) are struggling (and one will likely not acclimate).

The shipments were HORRIBLE! DESTROYED plants tossed into boxes, fallen out of the containers! Dirt everywhere! HORRIBLE!

Such a shame that there isn’t a big fat 0 to rate these people. I was looking for a shrub to replace one that had been in my front garden for over 30 years. I came across trees.com and like what I saw so ordered my shrub along with a small pack of fertilizer which was $4. Two weeks went by and then it came and as soon as I opened the box I knew it was the wrong one. Since there is no phone number for these people I managed to send a text. I received a response to say that they were sorry and would send the right one. I was floored when again they sent the same shrub except this time they said words to the effect of too bad we are not refunding your money! I even sent these people pictures of the shrub I had in my garden to show them that the shrub they sent was entirely different. Their response was what finally got me, they told me that it was the same plant as I already have and that the one they sent was young and as it got older it would change color and apparently the leaves would change their shape? NONSENSE in all my years I have never heard of such rubbish. My sister has both varieties and they are one like mine and one like they sent. I took a clipping of my existing shrub and the shrub they sent to a reputable nursery and spoke with a horticulturist and to cut a very long story short, they agreed with me! I have read reviews of others and Im flabbergasted at some of the comments, I just wish I had read the reviews prior to my purchase. What a crew of so called experts. I could say more but honestly, I am done. Do not buy from these people and get ripped off.

I will NEVER buy another tree from this company! I was interrogated by Carmella T for 20 minutes, and she still would not honor my warranty without multi-level proof. I felt as though they did not believe me despite my gardening expertise for 50+ years. Scam Company. I am done. Buy locally. I will go back to Garden World down the block from my home.

I received a damaged owari satsuma tree infested with bugs. I reached out to customer service and provided clear photos of the damaged box and tree with bugs and eggs and they refused to help me. DO NOT SHOP HERE. SAVE YOUR MONEY BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU WITH REPLACEMENTS OR REFUNDS. I even asked for a return label so I can ship this damaged and bug infested tree back and they won't even let me do that. Do NOT SHOP HERE!

Some of the plants I received were not in good shape (a very small percentage of the much bigger order). Customer service worked quickly to issue me a credit (bc the plants i originally ordered were out of stock). The process was quick, easy, and fair.

Constant disappointment. Ordered 4 blue spruce that I’ve confirmed are white spruce that I received and it’s disregarded. Additionally they provided a sample picture from a customer of what they received in which the quality was significantly different and better. These were both apparently orders from June. I will never recommend

In addition to my review, I’d also posted a review with pictures of the trees they sent me under the baby blue spruce tree item on their website and this still has not been posted on trees.com. I can only see reviews that are 3 stars or more with positive results and perfect looking trees so I can only assume this is a trend that should be recognized and reviewed.

I ordered from them when they were fast-growing-trees.com. Those orders arrived quickly and in good condition. Now they are trees.com. I place on order for one upright juniper on 09/17, it did not ship until 09/24, and now it is lost in transit. I called customer svc, and the agent said it is out of his hands and there is nothing he can do. Well, yes, you could start by taking responsibility for the company that you hire for shipping. I was told to wait until the poor plant is delivered and let them know if it's damaged. I can only imagine the process of trying to be reimbursed for a plant that's been en route for a week or one that doesn't arrive at all. Very disappointing.

I was very eggar to get my tree and plant it. I felt confident because of the supposedly a 12 month guarantee. I called immediality to report that my tree was not doing well. The agent on the phone said to give the tree more time. I tried to nurse the tree back to health for a couple of months. The tree died and I called back. The company did not give me the 12 month guarantee. They said that it was only a 2 month guarantee. They will not replace my tree. I am sooo disappointed. My experience was the worst!!!!!! First contact was in May 2026

Trees.com had a wide variety of options available. Shipping was fast and all of my trees except one arrived healthy and ready to go in the ground. One tree arrived a bit stressed out from shipping. I nursed it along for a few months but it finally gave up the fight. Getting a replacement tree was fast and easy!!

I ordered 6 muhly grass and they came in Perfect packages and looking very good. They are now in the ground and happy.

Ordered plants for a client and the quality was all over the place. A few looked good, while the vast majority were sparse and nowhere near the same quality. The difference between the larger order and a plant that arrived separately was especially noticeable. It honestly felt like they used the bulk order to unload plants that wouldn’t sell as easily in person.

I reached out to customer support, but they just told me they couldn't guarantee the quality. I ended up buying more plants at a local nursery to finish the job.

So much for saving money. Their deals looked good until I had to spend extra to make up for the disappointing plants. If you want consistent quality and to see what you’re actually paying for, skip Trees.com and go to your local nursery. I wish I had.

2 out of 4 ordered died off, one replaced due to damage in poor packaging and out of the 4 something else is growing next to one of them unsure what it is. We'll see in the spring if they come back. Maybe just stick to trees as I've never had a problem with any of those.

I have been completely satisfied with Trees.com. I have ordered 4 different sets of multiple plants; from small Lantanas to large Arborbitae. I also had some heat stress with some plants because of the 100f degree days. I emailed them with pictures and they replied with detailed, helpful tips the next day! So far, all my plants have come to me in very good shape and in strong shipping containers. I will continue to order from them.
