Great Customer Service
Working for the Alzheimer's society, I meet many people living with dementia. I am always looking for products that I can recommend. I contacted customer services to see if I could get some leaflets as one of the questions I frequently asked is how to support someone with managing their money. Customer Services could not have been more helpful and the leaflets arrived very quickly.

Great customer service
I have been using Sibstar for my elderly parents for a while as I look after their finances. I have always found the team to be incredibly kind and helpful. Sadly mum lost her card and I froze it but it took 7 weeks to get her a replacement card. This would have been a 5 star review if not for that. Leaving a vulnerable old lady without access to money for that long is unacceptable.

Friendly, on the ball, customer service team
As someone who works for the Alzheimers Society and attends a lot of events, I contacted customer services to see if I could get some leaflets for me to promote Sibstar as one of the questions I get asked frequently is how to support someone with dementia with managing their money. cashpoint issues
I really really want to like this card but it took forever to set up - hard to get an ID selfie of someone with dementia when you live far away ...then after weeks sorting it out, it turns out their cards have 'known issues' at co-op,tesco, RBS and other cash points. When someone lives in a rural area and there is no other cash-point in walking distance, not sharing this information up front and then simply suggesting shopping and getting cash back (this is a dementia card right? keeping things simple ...) or finding another cash point is more than a little annoying. Please can you fix it so these VERY common cash-point locations can take your card.
In response to the reply - I did liase - I was told nothing could be done to make co-op, tesco or RBS cashpoints usable - please do fix this!

Easy setup
Very straight forward to set up. When I did need some advice, I got through to customer support quickly and easily (no infuriating phone queues) and they were extremely helpful. Other similar organisations could learn a lot from Sibstar!

A great prepaid card
A very useful card to help manage finances for someone with dementia . It’s good to be able to see exactly what’s being spent and top up when necessary . Would be better if two cards could be issued on same account but so believe this is something being considered .

A few problems but very helpful support…
I had a few problems with the online form, it takes ages to scroll down the months/years for date of birth. And proof of ID was an issue because the cardholder doesn't have any picture ID. However the customer support was very helpful and responded very quickly with help. Just waiting to receive the card now but expecting it will be a major help to enabling the cardholders day to day life

I have recently opened this account after struggling to get a card with all the facilities I needed. The support from start to finish was exceptional. The App is so easy to use, I would recommend to anyone. The staff are so helpful, nothing too much trouble!!

Shocking way to treat people with dementia
I have no idea what’s going on at Sibstar , my mum has had a card for a year or so with no problems , 3 weeks ago the machine took the card despite money being in the account , Sibstar cannot explain why and have not been able to issue a new card as it’s with their Head of Technical , meanwhile I have had to give cash to mum every day so she can do her shopping , issue still not resolved really shocking in todays world , not the way to treat people with dementia

Overall a useful card
Overall a useful card. However, it does not let you use the pin in a card machine at a restaurant, you can only reset the taps at an ATM. My friend doesn’t use an ATM so one of us had to count the taps on the app and then go and pick up her card and take it to an ATM every couple of days.

Sibstar but not for Virgin Money customers!
Sibstar support was exceptional from application to card delivery. As a Virgin Money customer when I tried to transfer money the transfer was blocked. I had a conversation with security who seemed not to have heard about the card and explained that VM blocked this because it was associated with scams and cryptocurrency. He implied that the Sibstar website was fake and that none of the reviews by the newspapers listed, and Dragon's Den were genuine.

I have Alzheimer's and I live in Canada. News programs here reported a great deal of wonderful information about Sibstar debit card. It is exactly, exactly, what I would love to have. Sadly, Sibstar is not available in Canada. Kuddos to this company for developing such an important card that could help ease some of the struggles that so many of us are now going through.

Excellent product which is very helpful for my family member. Very rarely need to contact the support team, but when I do contact them they are always very helpful and responsive. Definitely recommend Sibstar for anyone who has difficulty managing money due to dementia or other conditions.

Exceptional service and easy to use App
Opened an account for my Mum and the support to get the correct documents and open the account was exceptional. Thank you to everyone who helped me through the process. The App is easy to use and gives excellent added peace of mind. I would recommend to anyone.

Unable to get proper IDs
I gave a five as my experience was great but unfortunately the card is not for me, as I live 500 miles from my mum, so all the paperwork which is needed is impossible for me to get.

Just the facility I have been looking…
Just the facility I have been looking for. My mum has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and whilst still independent with money, has been giving her card details over the phone to unscrupulous companies convincing her to take out appliance cover. The fact that the card can be blocked for use over the phone and internet has given us all peace of mind. Set up was thorough but straightforward. The only glitch was when I tried to transfer funds into the account the bank contacted me thinking it was fraud. So far I have been very impressed with Sibstar and would fully recommend. It is such a refreshing change to see a financial company with authentic values providing such a valuable service and I wish them well.
