A great card
The Sibstar card is wonderful for those who need help managing their finances. The online team is very helpful and friendly.

A few problems but very helpful support…
I had a few problems with the online form, it takes ages to scroll down the months/years for date of birth. And proof of ID was an issue because the cardholder doesn't have any picture ID. However the customer support was very helpful and responded very quickly with help. Just waiting to receive the card now but expecting it will be a major help to enabling the cardholders day to day life

Excellent Card
I have recently opened this account after struggling to get a card with all the facilities I needed. The support from start to finish was exceptional. The App is so easy to use, I would recommend to anyone. The staff are so helpful, nothing too much trouble!!

Shocking way to treat people with dementia
I have no idea what’s going on at Sibstar , my mum has had a card for a year or so with no problems , 3 weeks ago the machine took the card despite money being in the account , Sibstar cannot explain why and have not been able to issue a new card as it’s with their Head of Technical , meanwhile I have had to give cash to mum every day so she can do her shopping , issue still not resolved really shocking in todays world , not the way to treat people with dementia

Overall a useful card
Overall a useful card. However, it does not let you use the pin in a card machine at a restaurant, you can only reset the taps at an ATM. My friend doesn’t use an ATM so one of us had to count the taps on the app and then go and pick up her card and take it to an ATM every couple of days.

Sibstar but not for Virgin Money customers!
Sibstar support was exceptional from application to card delivery. As a Virgin Money customer when I tried to transfer money the transfer was blocked. I had a conversation with security who seemed not to have heard about the card and explained that VM blocked this because it was associated with scams and cryptocurrency. He implied that the Sibstar website was fake and that none of the reviews by the newspapers listed, and Dragon's Den were genuine.

Ingenious!
I have Alzheimer's and I live in Canada. News programs here reported a great deal of wonderful information about Sibstar debit card. It is exactly, exactly, what I would love to have. Sadly, Sibstar is not available in Canada. Kuddos to this company for developing such an important card that could help ease some of the struggles that so many of us are now going through.

Excellent product which is very helpful…
Excellent product which is very helpful for my family member. Very rarely need to contact the support team, but when I do contact them they are always very helpful and responsive. Definitely recommend Sibstar for anyone who has difficulty managing money due to dementia or other conditions.

Exceptional service and easy to use App
Opened an account for my Mum and the support to get the correct documents and open the account was exceptional. Thank you to everyone who helped me through the process. The App is easy to use and gives excellent added peace of mind. I would recommend to anyone.

Unable to get proper IDs
I gave a five as my experience was great but unfortunately the card is not for me, as I live 500 miles from my mum, so all the paperwork which is needed is impossible for me to get.

Just the facility I have been looking…
Just the facility I have been looking for. My mum has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and whilst still independent with money, has been giving her card details over the phone to unscrupulous companies convincing her to take out appliance cover. The fact that the card can be blocked for use over the phone and internet has given us all peace of mind. Set up was thorough but straightforward. The only glitch was when I tried to transfer funds into the account the bank contacted me thinking it was fraud. So far I have been very impressed with Sibstar and would fully recommend. It is such a refreshing change to see a financial company with authentic values providing such a valuable service and I wish them well.

Relatively straight forward process…
Relatively straight forward process once the identity and security checks are cleared.

Great concept.
Great concept, and the app is fairly easy to use. The notifications of when the card is used are also useful.
Would be helpful to be able to set weekly withdrawal limits, as well as daily and monthly. Maybe this can be developed?

Customer service is great
Customer service is great, prompt response to query and now sorted. Love that I can keep a check on every transaction as soon as the card is used it is sent directly to the app so I can control the money. Good you can set limits as well as increase/decrease card amount as
and when needed. Very happy and highly recommend.

I saw Sibstar on Dragons Den and…
I saw Sibstar on Dragons Den and thought is was a good solation, I did ask the Bank if they could do anything similar which they cant , I would comment that along with many things the IT is a challenge, as many of us looking after elderly parents are not that young ourselves ? Sibstar did help with this with someone human on the end of the phone.
Another challenge to be aware of is that when I tried to load the card from dads account the bank blocked it as they thought it was fraud, it took be a while to convince them otherwise .
I have not received the card to use yet so watch this space

Reassuring to have this Specialist Support
My experience of initially opening a Sibstar account and then using the Sibstar card has been very positive. The Sibstar team have walked me through the various steps in setting up the account, including uploading the Power of Attorney via the government electronic code system. I was impressed how efficient that was. The card itself arrived within 10 days and while we have not yet fully used all of the features, it is reassuring to know that the card is available when it will be needed. Throughout the process I found the Sibstar team to be professional and helpful. A very positive experience to date,

One less thing to worry about!
Its really helped to make the unmanageable manageable. We use the card as a way to enable in person shopping only so there is always funds available for food or local shopping instead of all the funds being wiped out every night with random online shopping.
Although already very capable I think there will be more and greater things to come from Sibstar, I'd like to see more granular control and more information about limits. I'd still 100% recommend even as the product stands thought.
The most refreshing thing about Sibstar is that its operated by people who seem to understand the situation we are in and people who want to improve the product. For example, a recent issue was acknowledged, a workaround offered and then fixed. That shouldn't sound exceptional, but most companies go out of their way to deny any failing.
