I've visited Japan in May 2026, and I had done a good search before my travel, and found that Japan Wireless is the top unlimited wireless network in Japan, so I gave it a try, paid online, landed in Osaka, and went out T2 on the second floor, found the N.E.S.T. counter on the right side after turning left. I was crossing my fingers that it wouldn't be some scam like the ones these companies are doing these days. I spent 7 days in Osaka and Kyoto, using Japan Wireless every single day. There was no single issue as long as you are not underground (metro); the network will be either LTE or 3G, but never disconnected. I will definitely use it again whenever I visit Japan, and I recommend it. It's really hassle-free, no worries about recharging the router, no worries about topping up the SIM, no worries about download and upload speeds, as long as you're using it for GPS, web browsing, googling, etc.

This Wi-Fi option, when travelling in Japan, worked perfectly for us. The device was waiting for us at our first hotel, and there was a mailbox at the international terminal when departing the country. We would leave it on all day and charge it at night, not one problem with it.

I had a very good experience using Japan Wireless Pocket WiFi during my trip to Japan. The device was easy to set up, had strong and reliable internet coverage, and worked well throughout Osaka, and even during train travel.

Battery life was NOT impressive and lasted only half a day with moderate usage. Connection speed was fast enough for navigation. Back up battery was NOT good either.

The device worked pretty good for the most part. A couple times it wouldn't have service but we were able to get it to work pretty quick each time. The only issue I wasn't happy about was being the device and power bank that it came with were both dead. Luckily I travel with multiple power banks anytime I go anywhere.

I've used Japan Wireless for my last three trips and have been very satisfied with the experience all times. It's easy to order on the website, communication is excellent, and pickup and drop-off are simple. The unit is very easy to operate and as long as I kept it charged up, I was able to use it all day on multiple devices.

Reliable and easy way to access data services wherever you happen to be! My only issue was forgetting to recharge once, but the spare battery provided with the kit had that solved in a moment! Pick up and drop off was super easy.

The WiFi was great. The battery life did not last me a full day, and the charger provided did not work so it kept dying on me.

The battery wouldn't last very long. Had to recharge after a few hours. I had used Japan wireless before with no issues but this time wasn't very good. It was very frustrating!

This was an extremely easy process! The pocket wifi was delivered to our hotel before we arrived and available for pick up as soon as we checked in. They provided a charger as well which came in handy on those really long days and it worked great the whole trip. Extremely easy to return when we were leaving with a drop off at the airport. Highly recommend and I'll definitely be using them again when I return.

I live in the United States, and this was my first visit to Japan. I can say without a doubt that this is one of the best portable internet services I have ever used. I traveled to remote places, including the countryside, and never had any kind of problem with the connection.

The only issue I experienced was that the battery provided did not work, but since I brought my own chargers, I did not need to contact the company.

Rented a japan wireless pocket wifi for 2 weeks in Japan and it was brilliant.
We had 3 devices getting used and the speed was incredible throughout.
We visited lots of cities and travelled into the countryside and the signal was strong, even on the underground's.
Easy pick up at Narita terminal 2 and the nice lady set it all up.
