AVOID AT ALL COSTS – WORST AIRPORT PARKING EXPERIENCE

If I could give zero stars, I would. Absolutely appalling service from beginning to end.

When we dropped our car off, we were left waiting around 40 minutes for the minibus to take us to Gatwick South Terminal. We were travelling with a small baby and the delay was so bad that we nearly missed our flight. It was incredibly stressful and completely unacceptable for an airport parking service.

Unfortunately, the return journey was even worse.

When we landed, I called at 11:42 PM as instructed to arrange collection. The minibus did not arrive until 12:40 AM – a 58-minute wait.

We were standing outside Gatwick Airport late at night with a small baby for almost an hour, exhausted after travelling, with absolutely terrible communication from the company.

I repeatedly tried calling to find out where the driver was. After numerous attempts, my number appeared to have been blocked, meaning I could no longer get through to the company that was supposed to be collecting us and had our car.

So, in one booking:

* Around 40 minutes waiting for the transfer when dropping the car off, to the point we nearly missed our flight.
* 58 minutes waiting outside Gatwick after landing, from 11:42 PM until 12:40 AM.
* Travelling with a small baby throughout.
* Repeated attempts to contact them with extremely poor communication.
* My telephone number appeared to have been blocked after I repeatedly tried to get an update.

This was not a small delay or a one-off inconvenience. The service failed us in both directions.

Airport parking is supposed to make travelling easier, not leave customers panicking about missing their flight on departure and then stranded outside the airport close to midnight on their return.

I have kept my call logs, booking confirmation and screenshots as evidence and have submitted a formal complaint requesting a full refund.

I would never use GAPS Park & Ride Gatwick again. Based on our experience, I strongly recommend that other travellers – especially families with babies or young children – avoid this company and book somewhere more reliable.

Used the company a few weeks ago when travelling to Egypt - phoned the number they gave us when we needed collecting a total of 51 times to no avail. After over an hour and a half of doing this we ended up paying out of pocket for a taxi to take us from the terminal to collect our car (£30 total). When telling the staff of this, they said "the line was down" - no email, no communication of this whatsoever. We were told to email the manager for a reimbursement of the taxi fare and have done so three times with no response. Really poor service- wouldn't recommend unless you want to be stranded at Gatwick airport.

Shockingly bad customer service. On the day of our return (early hours of the morning) the number given to us to call for pickup wasn’t working. Eventually had to pay for a taxi out of our own pocket. When we arrived at the compound, the member of staff informed us that the line was down. No communication was made to inform us of this. We were told to email the manager to get a refund for the taxi. It’s been almost two weeks and not so much as an acknowledgment of the complaint. I have emailed three times and received no response. Avoid this cowboy company.

Smooth process to check car in and out. Drivers are quick to get you to the airport too!

First of all, at drop off I had 20-30 people waiting for the shuttle minibus anxiously. The waiting time there was 40 minutes for me, which meant if I'm not early, I would have missed the flight. The shuttle bus had not been arranged for the required demand and both ways I had people having to sit on each others lap for the ride. Upon return I had to wait 40 minutes for the shuttle bus again at Gatwick, where again, someone had their relative on their lap due to lack of seats. I called twice and I was picked up from bus stop 7 late. My car was disgusting dirty when I picked it up and when I approached reception to collect my keys, the staff member pointed at the wall to say, first I need to fill out this survey and give them a good feedback. Unlucky him, I wasn't gonna give one if wasn't for this comment. Now I have to take and wash my car because all of my vipers are covered in dry mud for some reason. I know they were the cheapest, but next time I'll just invest more to get decent service

Filthy waiting room, unclear staff, god knows where they park the cars: ours came back covered in orange juice and filthy. Cowboys. Pay a bit more for peace of mind.
