I would give Collingwood zero stars if…
I would give Collingwood zero stars if I could. They are the cheapest providers by far, but there are hidden charges.
My son passed his test after 6 months, so I cancelled the policy. Having paid for the full annual policy up front, I was reasonable expecting some sort of refund. Instead, I was told there was a further fee to pay!
They have overinflated broker fees (£75) for setting up the policy and cancellation fees of £40. This left me owing them. I don't know why they don't just charge a bit more up front to avoid this kind of situation. I can't be the only one, surely.
When I called them, they would not budge. The customer services person stuck to the script very carefully. I don't normally leave bad reviews

Predatory business model
Predatory contract agreements with hidden fees for cancelling. Not only that you are supposed to pay £40 for cancelling your learner policy, but there is also another "fee" based on the month you cancel your insurance at, with 1st month adding 25% of your premium to that £40 mentioned before. Do not recommend. There is no way of finding this out unless you go and read the agreement and T&Cs, which many people ignore and what makes this company profit on it. 1/10 service.
They run multiple pages across Trustpilot (i.e., Collingwood Insurance Services UK Ltd and Collingwood Learner Driver) in order to show the "most successful" one to the end customer, essentially HIDING THE MAJORITY OF BAD REVIEWS.

FEES
had no issues with this company regarding my learner insurance however just be aware that they will charge you £40 just to cancel the policy and THEN a certain percentage of your premium. I don’t understand this as obviously people are passing their test so it’s a known fact people will need to cancel their policy? no one is a learner forever. Wouldn’t recommend for this reason as I had £100 taken from my account just for passing my test. This was not mentioned before buying otherwise i would have looked elsewhere.
