Good price, and no trouble. But watch out. They charge £40 to cancel the policy. You have to cancel the policy when you pass. Therefore, all learners will be forced to cancel the policy (if you want to be legal). So add £40 onto the quote price before deciding since you’ll have to pay it. Since everything is electronic nowadays, and you go online to register the cancellation yourself, there is no justification for a £40 fee, other than hiding costs in the small print. Thanks a lot!

Whilst we had no issues with the insurance policy I have to question the cancellation fees. Selling policies to 17 year old’s with “hidden fees” and 12 monthly contracts which may or may not be required based on the whether or not they may be able to book a test within that time frame leading to paying for Learner insurance and full comprehensive insurance at that same time! I would question the safeguarding in context of how Collingwood justify whether the minor truly understands the financial implications of the “loan” and its terms and conditions.

you pay upfront for a years insurance. If you pass your test you have to cancel the insurance. And then they have the cheek to charge you a cancellation fee. Even though its them that insist you cancel now you passed, and then have the cheek to charge you for the cancellation fee. Surely its them that should owe you a rebate for months of insurance you not using but payed for..go elsewhere..

Spoke to Kath she explained to me and made the changes to my policy which I had purchased for my 17 year old Grandson very helpful and sorted everything I was requesting.

Be aware these policies for young drivers are designed to rip you off by maximising the fees they hit you with. They know you will cancel early when you pass the test so have a large cancellation fee, but they also ignore the industry standard pro rata refund. They design it so if you have the policy more than a few months then when you cancel, you will owe them money. This is why the government is looking into costs for young drivers as insurers are using these kind of tactics.
