Librela made me put my dog to sleep after his 4th injection. He lost the use of his back legs, was twitching, panting, drooling, would not eat, lost weight rapidly, was confused, staring at the wall or floor, and couldn't co-ordinate his mouth for treats. He is now in a wooden box on my shelf because of Librela. I am devastated and heartbroken 💔

Librela injections were not sufficiently trialed and are causing serious damage to our pets. Very disappointed that your information brochure does not cover all the potential adverse reactions (as the Canadian version does). I filed a report with you and never heard a thing! I would really like you to reimburse me for the injections and the follow up vet care for the health issues my dog sustained following the injections.
If you are considering Librela for your pet, please do your research first…this is not the miracle cure it is touted to be and is harming many animals!

If I could give this a negative star I would. My dog received this injection and 19 days later lost full movement of his back legs. We are now on day 39 and we are still battling getting this out of his system. He is taking baby steps back on his feet and with lots of patience and prayers we hope we can get him back to walking. I DO NOT advise giving this to your dog at all!!!!!

We were given Beransa as the ‘miracle’ cure with no side effects to our 15 year old border collie. She was in no other medication and fed a raw food diet.
2/3 days after the injection was administered in her lower back, our dog became severely lame in her left hind leg. This was the worst affected arthritic leg due to previous bone fracture that required surgery with a plate and rod needed to secure the bone again which was done when she was just 10 months old.
She began dragging her leg behind her, struggling to get up. We asked advice from the vet who said ‘she’s just getting old and it’s more difficult to move’. Fine, I could understand and accepted that advice. However things got worse very quickly and suddenly.
She lost some fecal continence after a few weeks. Became disoriented and had heavy panting episodes even when she is groomed, inside an air conditioned house and hardly any activity for more than 5 minutes due to her lame leg.

I asked the vet again is there anything I should do, I was again told that this is all due to her age. I mentioned that we had previously done a general health blood test to ensure kidney/liver function was all working well and nothing was starting to display dysfunction. This was around 2/3 weeks prior to Beransa.
She was given the all clear and everything was normal and she appears really healthy for her age.
So I was confused that she could suddenly go downhill when her bloods were surprisingly good and she’d had this Beransa injection which was meant to help with pain.

I didn’t feel right and I didn’t go forward with the second injection.

I continued to support her and was waiting for the continence to get worse (she was only doing it in sporadic events). If she became so bad that her quality of life was being affected then we would have made the sad and unfortunate decision to euthanise her.

But the opposite happened.
The lameness appeared to improve.
The disorientation stopped happening so often after a few weeks.
She regained control of fecal continence after 3 months.

It’s been 6 months since the Beransa shot was given and she has returned to herself. We are now back to visiting off leash dog parks which was something we stopped after the lameness episodes.

I cannot stress enough that the Beransa injection must have either triggered these medical episodes or was directly responsible for it. A 15yr old dog cannot recover from such symptoms like lameness especially when the arthritic condition is advanced.

Zoetis need to recall this product NOW. There are people losing their pets to this product and it is unconscionable and unethical to continue its use until the testing is properly carried out!

If only l could turn back time, my vet recommended Librella as treatment for arthritis for my beautiful German Shepherd. I thought l was doing the right thing but unfortunately the side effects were horrendous, these included incontinence, confusion, excessive thirst, panting & progressive collapse of both back legs. My beautiful Zoe has since passed & l regret the day she had this toxic medication.

I would give -one star if I could zoetis make librela injection
Vet recommended librela for family's 8 year old collie because of not being able to jump into car as well as normal.
Poor dog had every bad reaction you could have only had one librela injection first few days seemed fine her face started swelling she refused water and food then collapsed looked confused eyes had green matter in them blood tests showed anemia hypoglycaemia kidney failure liver problems low sugar.
Also she had lack of circulation. Sky high temperature heart and breathing 3 times faster than it should be .she was given fluids and glucose could not get her sugars to go up she had to be put to sleep 7 days after librela injection.

Zoetis’ Librela was undoubtedly responsible for the horrific and agonizing death of my dog. Within 24 hours of the injection she was vomiting, had diarrhea, ataxia (neurological dizziness and inability to walk normally, almost zombie like with blank stare), urinating blood, went into shock and died at the ER vet. It was the most horrific thing I’ve ever experienced in my life. Thankfully we had done blood work the day of the injection and requested an autopsy after her death. Based on the autopsy results, our vet pulled the drug immediately from her clinic. The autopsy revealed there was no underlying condition that could’ve caused my dog’s death. She suffered needlessly for an elective drug because the vet believed the Zoetis sales reps who continue to push the drug as a safe “wonder drug” with “no known side effects”. Zoetis knows of these horrific adverse reactions, including death, and they refuse to warn pet parents or the veterinary community to maximize profits. This company should be held accountable for all the pain and suffering they’re inflicting on so many families. It’s unconscionable. Stay away.

Company should not say no side effects. The last few months of my collie’s life were spent in agony with the horrible side effects.

ZERO RATING - MY DOG DIED

My 11 year old Bassett hound who was still loving life still on walks died 4 weeks after 1 injection of Librela. He suffered horrific side effects to the point when he couldn't even stand to eat his food. We had to put him to sleep. I blame Zoetis and this drug. I had 1 email reply asking his age and breed then they ignored my other emails. It's a killer drug PLEASE DONT GIVE YOUR DOG LIBRELA

Librela needs to be removed from the market before it kills any more dogs. Zoetis is not being forthcoming about potential side effects.
Our dog had three shots but neither our vet or us linked it to Librela because the product information sheets don’t contain a comprehensive list of side effects. For two months we noticed massive thirst and hunger, dementia symptoms, balance issues, heavy panting and a sad change in personality. Ten days after the third shot, he fell and had not settled at night since the shot. He was completely zoned out at night and we had to stay up with him to calm him. Twelve days after the shot he was rushed to the emergency vet with vestibular symptoms, ataxia and the complete inability to use his legs. Emergency vet diagnosed vestibular disease and said it wasn’t a brain tumour. Fourteen days after the shot he could no longer even crawl. He lost the ability to void. He was upset and terrified about what was happening to him. We took him to our regular vet who diagnosed a brain tumour for the first time. We let him go. Two weeks later I saw a news report about adverse effects from this drug and our vet filled out an adverse event report with Zoetis. He had a horrible end that no dog or their family should ever have to go through. He would likely still be here if he hadn’t had this drug.
This drug is causing enough serious, adverse side effects that it needs to be removed from the market NOW!

Do not give your dog Librela. The side effects are endless and awful.

Zoetis is not telling the truth about the serious side effects and related deaths related to Librela.

The apoquel is good but the price is outrageous! Especially if you give your dog a pill everyday. Will you consider making a generic medicine. It’s hard to take care of our dogs when everything is so high in price. Hope someone reads this and give this a consideration. Thank you

I have never had a problem with Zotis products or the rewards program. Totally happy. Over 5 years now. 5 dogs 3 cats.

Zoetis Solensia drug for arthritis killed my cat in 2 weeks and my friend's cat in 1 week!! My cat was 15 but was still healthy and had just had an excellent blood test report from the vet. He was starting to have slight discomfort from arthritis and the vet suggested Solensia would make him more comfortable; so we thought we would see how he went on one does.
Immediately upon taking him home he developed lumps in his shoulders and neck, which by the second week stopped him eating and drinking. He was dead within 2 weeks of the injection (December 2023).
My friend had the same experience with her cat who also grew lumps in his neck and shoulders immediately and had a stroke within 1 week of the injection.
It is clear Zoetis did not do sufficient testing on Solensia before releasing it in Australia!! I have found other evidence online of cats dying within a week from the drug. This feels like a class action waiting to happen!!

Unser Bruno (altdeutscher Schäferhund) hat Arthritis. Unser Tierarzt empfahl uns Librela als neues "Wundermittel" ohne schädliche Nebenwirkungen.
Nach 6 Monaten monatlicher Injektion fiel er plötzlich um und hatte keine Kraft in den Hinterbeinen; 3 Tage später waren die Vorderbeine kraftlos. Als wir einen neuen Tierarzt aufsuchten schüttelte er nur den Kopf über seine Kollegen und erklärte, dass er viele solche Fälle kenne. Daraufhin suchte ich im Netz und fand auch einige Vorkommnisse.
Ich finde es unverantwortlich, dass eine Firma nicht mal eine Warnung in den Beipackzettel schreibt und/oder Tierarztpraxen anschreibt, dass Librela bei längerer Anwendung sogar zum Tod führen kann wenn nicht sofortige Gegenmassnahmen eingeleitet werden.
Wahrscheinlich erhalten die Tierärzte hohe Provisionen von Zoetis (was bei dem Preis für Librela leicht möglich ist) damit sie dieses Zeug einsetzen.
Ich werde weitere Schritte unternehmen!

Rewards program for the overpriced prescription meds is a scam. They made it next to impossible to submit rewards and when told on the phone - their customer service was non-existent. It sounded like a 3rd party company handling it for them and made Zero attempt to be any help at all. Like all things today - they talk a good game - but leave a big you-know-what in the punchbowl !

Rewards/rebate program is a joke. They send a card rather than check. Supposedly it is to be used at your vet's office, however we could never get the card to work. Approximately $100 lost.

They are basically scam artists... they say buy this you get rewards.. I did it and got it first 2x by the 3rd they so oh oops your not buying enough for rewards now. Even vet agreed they didn't state that at first. So I call bs. I will find something else for my pup that has less scam behind it. Some dogs will not ever require their quantity for rewards. So good luck
