I live in Panama. The regional HQ for Central America is in Costa Rica. I have a query if Cytopoint is available in Panama. 1) I asked my vet, and she came back and said it was not available (no stock or not sold here - very ambiguous answer ). 2) Contacted the local distributor via email - no reply. 3) Tried calling Zoetis Costa Rica, but can't connect after several attempts on different days. 4) Sent an email to the email address provided, but there is no reply. 5) Got in contact with Zoetis Global HQ in the U.S.A. on Twitter. They gave me the number for Costa Rica. I informed them that Costa Rica is MIA and not interested in communicating with the outside world. Deathly silence from them both. You would expect a little more organisation from a global company rather than take it or leave it, we don't need your business. Times have changed, and you no longer control your market share through vets as your clients are well informed. Out of interest, the product was approved in 2016 by the FDA, and we are in 2024, so I would be surprised to hear it is not sold in Central America. Librela is available, and that only got approved in 2023. They are both monoclonal antibody medicines, so I doubt it the government not approving the import of it. Apaquel is freely available but has far more potential side effects that I am not comfortable with. Cytopoint is considered the 1st line treatment before Apaquel (because of potential side effects) from my understanding of reading the literature. Would also be more appropriate for my dog that has seasonal allergies.

This drug should be banned ! Side effects for my dog, seizures, hind leg spasms, dementia type symptoms, pacing, weak hind legs, knuckling both front and back legs.
Dementia symptoms have resolved, we are still dealing with all the others.

Have submitted invoice 3 times for a $220 vet purchase , still no reply , started in February online , latest had to be mailed in because invoice was now over 60 days old . I did get a credit 8 months ago for same purchase , should have been $25 , was only $15 with no reasonable explanation.

My dog had a Pro Heart 12 shot for the first time last year. He is now positive for heartworms. I called about them paying for his treatment per their "guarantee". Basically, I needed to have him tested all along every three or four months to determine exactly when they started. Who in the hell does that?? I started the Pro Heart 12 because I wouldn't have to worry about it for a year. The guarantee is a complete scam.

The manager of regulatory affairs, Josh Kuipers, puts laughing emojis on comments by people whose dogs got sick or died due to Librela. Shows you exactly how concerned Zoetis leadership is about our dogs. They are disgusting.

Please do not give this to your pet. I believe this caused the death of my dog, I had to put him to sleep due to what I believe the side effects of this medication were.
Think long and hard beforehand. I have made complaints to the MP responsible, and I am hopeful that you're doing your research and come across these reviews. I failed my dog by taking the advice of the vet.
Please make sure that you do your research prior to giving your pet this medication.

This company has not told the truth of the awful side effects of Librela, the supposed miracle drug for dogs and cats.Our animals are suffering and dying. We trusted you and you lied!!!

They need to test Librela more and quit telling vets that it has no side effects. The side effects of thirst, uncontrolled urination, lack of appetite, loss of coordination plus the baseball size tumor that grew in one month, robbed my 8 year old Shepherd rescue of his will to live.
This company does not know which dogs are good candidates for this shot. They haven't done enough testing to know which conditions, drugs, etc will interact with the shot.

This drug needs to be banned. My dog could not walk after his shot and was disoriented. I thought he was going to die! It was awful. The bad reaction to the drug was quick and absolutely terrifying. Thankfully, he’s still with us, but there are so many horror stories from others who have lost their dogs. I will NEVER put my boy through this again.

My dog had his only shot on a Monday, by Wednesday he was collapsing on his walk and by Thursday he never walked again. We had to put him to sleep yesterday, 5 weeks after his only shot. Every day the horrible side effects were affecting his body to the point where there was “no quality of life” left. Zoetis, by not acknowledging and informing vets and people of the horrific side effects that are possible, you are allowing the slow, painful deaths of our beloved animals to continue. Shame on all those involved with the development and selling of this drug.

Zoetis is garbage I believe it killed my dog, she was healthy and had a little back pain from common in small breed poodles
1 shot made her pee a lot and disoriented and eventillu had seizures.. then body started to shut down I fkn hate this company

I wish I could give u no stars. U need to pull Librela (Beransa in Australia). It was recommended for my dog who has arthritis but had been coping well for years on cartrophen. 5 shots later I have a dog who can barely walk without bouts of ataxia. At times, she can't move for hours. This is happening to dogs worldwide. U do not disclose the more serious side effects. I would never have started her on this had I known. Doubt I will have her with me much longer.

My beloved golden retriever Ruby suffered hind leg weakness, ataxia, confusion, anorexia, vomiting, and excess panting after receiving only one dose of this drug. She was euthanized prematurely due to these complications.

This company makes the drug "Librela". They promote this drug as having no adverse side effects. This drug has paralyzed my baby dog. The FDA has even filed a class action suit for misleading this drug. Do not trust this drug or this company. This drug is literally killing and paralyzing dogs.

My Staffordshire Bull Terrier was offered this and started it last year for stiff joints. She was still lively and interested in the world around her. After starting this drug (shes 13) she became lethargic but pacing cannot get comfy has 2nd stage kidney failure. Stands staring into space wees a lot and shows no interest in anything. Im positive this drug is responsible. They will say well she was old. I know my dog better than anyone and all these cases with the same side affects cannot be coincidence. We are now told she needs to be PTS. Devastated is not the word.

LIBRELA is a death sentence. I lost my best friend, Oliver, two months after his second Librela injection at the end of December 2023. He suffered from a progressively debilitating decline post Librela and kept up the fight until he no longer could. There are just too many similarities post Librela in too many of our fur babies with the sudden and new onset of unrelenting symptoms of weakness and ataxia, inability to walk or stand, excessive thirst and incontinence, seizures and twitches, loss of appetite, episodes of staring and confusion, etc., etc. Mine also developed hearing loss, blood in his urine and kidney failure. Can it ALL be attributed to old age and comorbidities in ALL of our dogs right after receiving this new “wonder drug?” If it looks like a duck, smells like a duck, quacks like a duck… it’s Librela. Zoetis needs to stop and take pause. I don’t get a second chance. Oliver doesn’t get a second chance. Zoetis is playing a game of Russian roulette with our family members. There was insufficient testing of this drug on all breeds in all walks of life and in all states of health. There has not been enough education and truth-telling to the vets who promote this proported “wonder drug” which for so many has become a death sentence. There is inaccurate reporting, insufficient literature and an overall lack of compassion and love for our animals on the part of Zoetis by virtue of the fact that they continue to distribute and promote a drug that has obviously stirred up much controversy and has caused much heartache. Take a stand and make this right. Too many have already succumbed to the horrible effects of Librela. 💔

Bella received her 7th and last Librela injection on the 10th Jan, 5 days later she suffered severe adverse reactions, vomiting/diarrhoea not wanting to eat or drink, couldn’t stand (Ataxia) and had a severe vacancy in her eyes, almost like she was blind. It seemed she had given up on life. I booked an appointment to PTS, and whilst waiting for our appointment, I found the FB groups Librela Experiences and Librela Reviews & Feedback. I started to read people's posts, the good the bad and the ugly; Sadly the bad outweighed the good, there’s an alarming number of similar adverse reactions including loss of life. I read a supportive post to hang in there, wait it out whilst the Librela wore off, which I did - and luckily Bella came back to me, she started eating/drinking and slowly her bacterial skin infection cleared.
A large number of posts where people have PTS their beautiful fur babies, not knowing early symptoms were the onset of adverse reactions, if they wait it out, the dog could come back - which proves it is the Librela shot! Frustratingly the vets and Zoetis are not listening to the reports and complaints of the people who are experiencing the pain, suffering and premature loss of their very valuable family members.

This shot is Russian Roulette, I would advise caution before administering and to do your research. It seems profits over health are playing a large part in this.

Librela is a killer. This drug is being marketed as a wonder drug, but the only wonder is how has it not been removed from the market. It supposedly has no side effects, but the is utter rubbish. Dogs are dying as a direct result of being given the treatment, and this HAS TO STOP!! If I could award zero stars, I would.

My dog was given 3 Librela injections that were developed and sold by this company. He fell very sick after second and nearly died after 3rd! Hundrends of other experiences like mine and many dogs that actually died! Yes nothing is being done and they get away with it! AVOID anything produced by this brand, its dangerous!
