I absolutely hated using sketchup. It took me15 hours to make a simple chair. I want to know how professional furniture designers are completely sane after using it for over 24 hours. This is not a joke I am never using SketchUp again in my life. It does not even work properly. The move tool, instead of moving one part, moved everything touching the part. Sketchup is bad

This product was erroneously purchased right after the death of my mother. Subscription was never activated and product was never used. They have been taking money from my account for 7 months. I thought I was paying one of my mother's bills. Up on discovering that this was an accident, I reached out for a refund of unused subscription. At no time was downloaded or opened and their own site shows this. They refuse to refund even last month's bill. Disgusting! They send emails on Friday after 5:00 so you can't reach anybody until Monday. I would never ever recommend this platform to anybody. No wonder they have such low ratings. My attorney has been contacted about this matter.

Awful customer service
The software itself is so incredibly basic yet an unbelievable amount of bugs. But the customer service is absolutely terrible. I’ve never known a company to be so incompetent. I wouldn’t recommend anyone pay for this service ever.

The absurd automated response said that they send me a response to my mail adress when the problem was specificaly a wrong adress linked to my account...When I finally got a phone number, they hang up on me...
Horrific customer support
Horrific customer support! Ordered the product at a discounted price, had no access to it for over 2 months, the money was taken from my account, the support team told me a range of things from that my order didnt exist, to the money hadn't been taken from my account, and that I had to reorder at the full price. I can use paypal to cancel however I have had over 2 months of appalling and inconsistent customer 'support' and no apology.
The worst customer support ever
The worst customer support ever. The Trimble customer portal doesn't function at the most basic level. Links that go nowhere, pages that don't load and customer support doesn't acknowledge open service tickets. Years of using Sketchup and no way to update a simple cc number.

Ca fait quelques mois que je dessine sur sketchup free et si je pouvais je ne donnerais aucune étoile (ou plusieurs en négatif...)
C'est un bon logiciel pour apprendre mais si vous songez à dessiner quelque chose de plus complexe qu'un carré, armez-vous de patience. Le logiciel gèle, il est lent, il lague et il plante continuellement et vous perdez ce que vous avez dessiné. Si vous voulez tout de même l'essayer, vous avez vraiment du temps à perdre. C'est triste car j'envisage acheter un logiciel 3D mais l'expérience que je vos avec sketchup fait en sorte que ce ne sera jamais ce logiciel que j'achèterai. J'ai perdu assez de repos, je ne perdrai pas mon argent

Most of it's locked behind a paywall - you can't even export to other things like blender or share without paying, features are hard to use and not well planned, and it is worse than any other software i've found.

ZERO assitance alors qu'il s'agit d'un outil majeure dans notre travail que l'on paye cher, beaucoup trop cher. Je n'attends qu'une chose trouver son remplaçant alors que je travail avec joie sur Sketch Up depuis 15ans. Mais depuis que racheté par Trimbel, c'est la cata, je m'arrache les cheveux et je hais maintenant Sketch Up.

Didn't keep up with the time
I've used SketchUp for many years. Was first taught to use the desktop version before 3D printers was mainstream.
9 years ago I got access to multiple printers and started using Tinkercad, but occassionally still used SketchUp.
This year I wanted to do advanced drawings with parametric features and spent an afternoon going through OnShapes courses. Wow, such power. I wish this existed when I got into 3D drawing and was thaught this instead.
The online SketchUp version is awful. When you export to STL, critical faces are missing and the file is unusable.
Needed a file that I created last year and now they have subscription pop-ups all over. But if the web app is this bad, who would want to pay for this to try the new desktop app?
It seems that the features of SketchUp didn't keep up with the time and are now inferior to other more powerful tools.

I need support from Trimble for my sketchup 2026 which wont launch today. Over an hour and nobody has come back to me. No acknowledgment of my case by email. Has it even been logged? Who knows! Very poor for a paid up service.
Pratiques commerciales scandaleuses !
SketchUp renouvelle automatiquement l’abonnement pour une année supplémentaire, avec une augmentation de prix et sans le moindre avertissement.
Ils refusent tout remboursement, alors même qu’ils annoncent un délai de rétractation. Le service client est honteux, lent et totalement antipathique.
Côté logiciel, ce n’est pas mieux : crashs constants sur Mac, performances médiocres, et toujours aucune gestion du multithreading en 2025 !
Vu la qualité déplorable du logiciel, leurs abonnements forcés semblent être leur seul moyen de garder des utilisateurs.
Je déconseille vivement SketchUp.

Nachdem ich aufgrund von Kollissionen mit der gratis trimble ID und der gekauften trimble ID leider mit der selben Emailadresse das Programm nicht mehr nutzen konnte , versuche ich seit 2 Monaten Support von Trimble zu erhalten - ohne Erfolg nur KI antworten ohne weitere Bearbeitung !
Ganz ehrlich bitte überlegen ob ihr euch auf einen Kauf einlässt ohne Service!

Voor krachtige functies heb je een abonnement nodig, maar met abonnement werken de functies slecht. Het programma zit vol met bugs die jouw objecten compleet misvormen en onbruikbaar maken.
De enige oplossing is een nóg duurder abonnement, zodat je met allerlei extensies in de desktop versie kunt doen wat standaard al in Sketchup zit maar niet goed werkt. Wil je optimaal profiteren van Sketchup, gebruik de gratis versie en neem zeker geen abonnement. Want betaalde versies zitten vol fouten!
Sketchup is een beetje een sportwagen met goedkope motor. Rijden lukt prima maar als je een beetje gas geeft sta je om de kilometer met pech.

It was the average October 2nd 2025, 1pm. We were sat in Computing class, waiting for instructions; the teacher calls out, "Alright class, today we are going to use this website called SketchUp!" He hands out those crumpled, printed instruction manuals on how to use the website. I click onto the webpage - my first mistake. Instantly attacked by a pop-up - '20% off SketchUp Pro for first-time users!' I ignore it, press that tiny X to obliterate the pop-up, and click onto the free version. Second mistake. The page loads. The first thing I see is the haunting figure of the default man. His face is non-existant, just like my hopes for this lesson. There are too many icons to count, none of which I know the use of. Desperately, I flick through the manual. No help. The teacher has instructed us to build a house - for 15 grueling minutes I attempt to create a singular wall. I fail more times than I can count; then, finally. I've made a wall. Next, furniture. I find the 3D Warehouse, or whatever that blasted option is named. I select to download a bed - another mistake. It buffers for 2 minutes before finally importing. Wait, what is that? A bird? a plane? No, it's my bed - floating so far above my wall that it's a singular pixel. The fight to move it down is legendary; this tale will be passed down from generation to generation. Then, it's almost where I need it. A pause as I celebrate too soon... the bed clips under the floor. I fall silent. I can hear the faint cries of agony and rage from my classmates, all of whom have most likely experienced similar troubles. Filled with undescribable pain, I shift the mouse over the greasy wooden desk and close the page. I cannot take this any longer. I'd have better luck making my house in Roblox Studio.
If I use this website one more time I will get a brain aneurysm. DO NOT USE IT.

J’avais annulé mon abonnement annuel…
J’avais annulé mon abonnement annuel mais ils me l’ont réactivé sans me prévenir et mon prélever 148€ alors que je l’avais annulé. De plus le site n’est pas du tout ergonomique si on passe d’un ordinateur à un téléphone et cela rend très compliqué l’annulation des abonnements et je ne parle meme pas de leur service client qui est absolument inutile.
