Very poor quality of service
My experience with sheerID is really bad. Slow support. Afert a week I got answer almost "sorry, its your problem". Im not sure, why some professionals use that service at all. Maybe the reason is they don't really want students to join their programs.
So if you want to be fair, just use another student verification provider.
Unable to verify student status
Unable to verify student status. I uploaded my student ID multiple times, exceeded the limit, had the limit reset by an employee and still couldn't verify. If automatic verification fails (which it does), they are unable to do it manually. Customer support is complete trash, they just stop responding to emails and are unable to help, why even hire them?

Total Scam
Customer service does not respond to support requests and as a result I am unable to redeem my student offers. Google needs to stop partnering with this shady company.
Another Inadequate Company Making Money
End your company. Your technology isn't up to the task. There is a better company somewhere that should be Google's verifier.
I uploaded my tuition receipt and it said insufficient proof. How can it be when that's what the school gave me? Your system isn't working!
And that's after tricking your dumb process by shortening my name to be able to verify again.
What kind of tech says "Too many verification requests" after only doing it twice.
I got no help from support. Just the same cold, ignorant reply that others on here got as well.

Outrageous support
Most useless support, unwilling to help. Verification for google gemini doens't work, google support told me to contact SheerID support but all I got it "we're unable to process your verification request, cannot provide details and this ticket is permanently closed".
This is outrageous. I don't even get a chance to reply. This is the worst ever company.

Horrible customer service.
There is no number to call. Emailing takes absolutely forever and when they get back to you they clearly didn't put in the effort to look at your problem fully so I have had to play tag when this could have been resolved simply with calling and being on the same page. Super shady and disappointing. Do better.
Excellent and fast manual verification
I had a great experience with Ash's support. My Autodesk verification had been pending for over a week, but after I contacted support, Ash escalated my case and approved it manually in less than 24 hours. Very grateful for the efficient help!

I found the SheerID Support Team to provide exceptional service: fast, effective, and solution-oriented. An excellent team.
Avoid! SheerID rejects valid documents and refuses to explain why
I am beyond frustrated with SheerID’s "verification" process. I attempted to verify my student status by providing an extensive list of legitimate, official documents, including:
- My official university program acceptance letter.
- Current university billing statements.
- My full class schedule.
- Unedited screenshots of my student portal with the URL clearly visible.
Despite providing more than enough proof (all downloaded directly from my university’s portal), SheerID rejected my application. They had the audacity to claim my documentation was "altered," which is false. These were original PDFs and direct captures.
To make matters worse, when I reached out for clarification, they sent a canned response stating, "we are unable to provide further specific details regarding this determination." They then closed the ticket without offering any alternative way to prove my identity or status.
It is a terrible business practice to accuse legitimate customers of fraud and then stonewall them by refusing to explain why. If SheerID’s automated system can’t distinguish a real PDF from a fake one, there should be a human review process that actually works. Instead, they just lock you out. Total waste of time!
The process was confusing!
The verification process was extremely confusing. I was declined three times, and then I was told that I had exceeded the number of allowed attempts. Fortunately, when I reached out through their website to report the issue, they resolved it within two days.
0% satisfaction
"Your satisfaction is our top priority, and your feedback motivates us to continue delivering exceptional service." However, satisfaction was NOT had...and it wasn't exceptional service. All I kept receiving were canned responses. No answers. No solutions.
"We would appreciate it if you could share your positive experience with others by leaving us a review." I can't share my positive experience as it wasn't positive at all! I couldn't ever get my questions answered or issues resolved.
In the end, I got this message: "As per OpenAI policy, the verification requests raised by the same person can be approved only once in 335 days and since I checked, as per our records, your request was already approved and verified for the OpenAI faculty discount on Jan 6, 2026 therefore, no further verification is required at this time." Approved and verified??? Huh? So, instead of fixing the problem, I have to wait almost a year to get an answer. What a joke!
