Sold my car to this garage via motorway. What started off seeming like a good interaction turned into something i would now not recommend. Called me the day of the sale to arrange pick up and agreed they would call me Monday. They never did they called Tuesday morning when delivery was spoke about happening. Luckily collection did happen Tuesday. The guy who turned up was friendly and everything seemed to be going smoothly. Unfortunately for the garage their OBD machine would not read the car - from my own research for this brand of car you need certain subscriptions or a updated machine. Then it got down to the price. Although a price was reached via auction via Motorway MK AUTO MOTORS wanted to lower the price typical trader. The gentleman who was collection passed me his phone to speak to his boss Sal. Sal seemed friendly maybe a bit to friendly trying to use his male charm on a lady sadly wouldn't work for me as not interested might work for others but each to their own. He went on to name faults with the car , all in which were either listed in the listing or just plain made up as tests and receipts provided otherwise, luckily for me i am a petrol head so trying to pull a fast one was not working. Anyways price for final sale was agreed. Payment was received swiftly. Luckily for me - Sal and myself exchanged a text regarding the reg and sale. When it was time to take the car i offered three times to sort out and sign the log book and all occasions i was told no we do this. The guy already had the log book as part of motorway protocol to show all docs to the buyer/trader. I was unable to take a picture of the log book or see it again to take down the reference number, some blame is on me as i should of done so before handing it over. Due to not wanting any legal responsibly for the car i wrote to the DVLA explaining i have sold the car and provided proof, i also emailed in to the business to get them to confirm they had told the DVLA of the sale. But i received no response. A week goes by and i text Sal to ask for confirmation, the text was read within 10 minutes but to no surprise, no response was received. After receiving no reply from Sal i contacted Motorway for further help who then have advised further and provided copies of my log book. For a business who is very social on social media and seems to have a quick turn around of getting the cars up for sale their lack of communication lets them down big time. Now the DVLA are finally aware of the sale i can finally put my mind to rest and forget about the car. For anyone looking or have sold their car to this garage via motorway please take down and remember any information as once they've got the car you will not be able to reach them again. Such a shame as if the experience was any better i may of been a future customer for the next car.

Warning to Potential Buyers – Sale of an Unroadworthy Vehicle by MK Motors Limited

I purchased a Mercedes (registration MT05 BIR) from MK Motors Limited for £1,850. At the time of sale, I was told about only two minor issues — a faulty remote central locking and a sunroof problem. However, after buying the car, I discovered several serious undisclosed faults:

A persistent coolant leak that has cost me £450 in repairs but still isn’t fixed. The warning light remains on.

A failing battery, despite being told it was new, which forced me to jump-start the car multiple times.

False verbal assurance that the road tax had been paid. The day after purchase, my car was almost towed due to being untaxed. I had to pay the tax urgently to avoid impoundment.

A broken number plate light.

A loose and improperly fitted driver-side door panel.

These issues mean the vehicle was misrepresented, is not fit for use, and was sold in breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

I have filed a formal complaint and requested a partial refund to cover repairs and inconvenience. If the dealer does not respond within 14 days, I plan to escalate the matter to Trading Standards and consider legal action.

I share this to warn others to be cautious when dealing with MK Motors Limited.
