LATAM managed to delay my baggage
LATAM managed to delay my baggage, fail to provide a proper airport report process, give contradictory information in multiple airports, and then reject reimbursement because there was no PIR, even though their own staff discouraged or blocked that process. I had to buy essential items out of pocket while nobody could tell me where my baggage was. This was not just poor service, it was operational chaos with zero accountability.

LATAM schaffte es nicht, einen kleinen Koffer rechtzeitig von A nach B zu verschaffen, obwohl am Koffer ein deutlich sichtbares Etikett mit der Zieldestination (Rio de Janeiro) angebracht war. In diesem Koffer befanden sich in meinem Fall alle Toilettenartikel und alle Textilien. Er kam erst einen Tag später an. Ich mußte ihn auch selbst abholen. Meine Bitte einen Boten zu schicken, wurde ignoriert. Anstatt den Fehler einzugestehen, antworten sie mit vorgefertigten Floskeln und lehnen jegliche Refundierung der daraus enstandenen Kosten ab.

Terrible airlines
I have recently done a trip from London to lima via Sao paolo and it was the worst flight I've ever had. The food on Latam Airlines is really horrible, the seats are very tight and uncomfortable (economy). On my flight back, an 11 hrs flight from Sao paolo to London overnight, my seat was broken and wasn't reclining. Nothing was done about it as apparently the flight was full. I would recommend to fly iberia instead as these airlines are just as bad as their reviews overall.

What a scam of an airline. Flying from St. Cristobal to Quito on 11 April This day are planned maintenance on Quito landing strip. This was known for months locally... we are oblivious to that fact.
First we get a delay, but we aren't yet worried because our next flight is 12 April from Quito at 18.00...... with the whole family of 4 business class, an experience we have never had. So we planned the whole lounge access experience and milk the business class ticket. nice glass of wine, relax and food before boarding...
Back to the Latam flight. Waited about 40 mins after departure time a notice is given that our flight is cancelled... Reason: damage to airplane and had to return to Guayaqill. We are still oblivious to the maintenance at Quito.
We are left 6 hours at the airport where they keep saying all kind of conflicting things and scenarios. They say you will automatically be put on a flight tomorrow 10.45 (our original time) but when I look in the app it states that "I must take action to book us on a new flight for free" They say to us that families with kids are priority for finding a hotel asap, but out of ca. 200 passengers we are still at the airport with the last 20 or so because first single and duo passengers got a hotel they say (if that isn't conflicting). Eventually we are collected put in a hostel.
Before leaving the airport, we found flights just before we enter the bus to go to hotel. The flights are landing eventually in Quito at 15.16 which is very tight before our 6pm flight with Iberia ... We can't even collect our luggage which is waiting in the hotel in Quito .. so we need to pay 45usd for a courier to bring it and wait at domestic arrivals ... Many lies were told to us 11 April, every time when we flag one, they say " I don't know". They are unwilling to tag our bags through with Iberia as it's not the same booking code. My wife gets upset and reiterates please help, no I won't just move on.... so they threaten to get police. Fast forward again we are at Guayaquil airport and flights from latam to Quito are leaving Mach earlier. Staff tells me if I am black Diamond member I can just swap my flight but because I am not they have me run outside passport check and go to ticket sales .. long story .. no succes at ticket sales.
We are now waiting for our flight with exceptional short connecting to our quito flight. We have been treated abysmally, lied to and gaslighted and if we lose our connection Latam can shrug and hold their hands up as they have no accountability to another flight.
Personal spricht kein Englisch, massive Probleme beim Check-inCheck-in
Personal spricht kein Englisch (hoffe wenigstens der Pilot) ausschließlich Portugiesisch. Online Check-in funktioniert überhaupt nicht. Ich musste fälschlich angeben, dass ich portugiesisch spreche und im Notfall die anderen Passagiere ansprechen kann, um auf einem Notausgangsitz einchecken zu können.
Don't fly with LATAM airlines
They provide flights with transfers where you have to pick up and check in your luggage yourself during your transfer... Therefore most of the people miss their transfer, as they are waiting for their luggage or waiting at customs. When you miss your flight, you have to wait a long time before you will be helped to find a next flight and there is total chaos. Then, there is no online customer service that you can mail or call to ask about if incurred costs are reimbursed. You can only file a request and you have to wait for 2 months before they answer and they will say that "it is not their fault and this flight was booked voluntarily". But whilest booking nothing tells you that you have to check in your luggage again at the transfer airport... Worst experience I've had so far with an airline.

Fui de Lima vía Sao Paulo a Barcelona. No sólo lograron de retrasar el vuelo tanto que fallamos la Conexion sino también una falta de comunicación e información total... He sufrido un retraso de más de un día y además tardaron más de 5 horas en Sao Paulo para cambiar el vuelo. Llevo 1.400 vuelos en el cuerpo pero nunca he visto nada igual. Evitar esta compañía que no se merece ni ejecutar 1 vuelo más y os dejará tirado en desesperación
Mala atención
La única aerolínea con la que he viajado que no ha tenido atención especializada en una situación especial (embarazo) ni con respecto a la asignación de asientos, que te separan de la persona de cuidado principal y de la comida que no tenían ni información de la etiqueta alimentaria ni la adaptan.
Pésima respuesta por parte del personal.

Esmerada atencion. Un vuelo impecable. En el vuelo LA 2433 Rosario (Argentina) a Lima (Peru) del 29.3.26 destaco la atencion de primera de las azafatas/asistentes de vuelo: Ines, Claudia,Morella y Milagros y destaco tambien el tripulante de cabina Maria Jose Bravo De Rueda. Todos de primera. Gracias por el excelente viaje.
Literally the worst airline ever
Literally the worst airline ever. Lost my luggage on the flight to Brazil, as well as my flight home. Customer service is non existent… staff is incredibly rude and unhelpful. No one knew what’s happening with my bag either and I had to spend money to find it myself… they’ve been cussing me distress for months now.
At some point speaking to latam on WhatsApp, one of the advisors told me „I don’t have time for this conversation”.
I’m speechless at this point - no hope in these people whatsoever.

I agree with all the bad reviews I have read.The airline is dreadful and the staff at GRU SCL Airport were very un helpful no one spoke English and we had to use are translator the staff were very rude and stated that we don't talk Portuguese.That day we had 3 flights our first flight from IGU GRU when we checked in we got told our next flight was overbooked staff member tried to upgrade us bit she was not allowed .when we arrived at the second flight we got told it was overbooked and if you can believe this it went early.At the desk we got told don't worry you can book on the next one.4 hours later waiting for the airline to sort it out we got told we can fly to Lima but the airline said we can't we had not had our yellow fever job.which was not entirely true as at the end of our holiday we flew to Lima no problem. We missed our connection the airline put us for the night in a hotel but that came with lots of problems.we were booked on another flight the next morning. We lost nearly two days of our holiday no one actually cared. We tried to get our money back for the flights but the airline believe or not reported that the flight was not overbooked so why were we not on it and why would we get put in to a hotel paid by the airline. The plot thickens but I hope we never have to use this airline again dreadful and so un professional.

From a Travel Nightmare to Genuine Kindness – Thank You LATAM
I understand that LATAM does not always receive the most positive reviews; however, my personal experience has consistently been very positive. While the aircraft themselves may be somewhat dated, I have always found the service — from ground staff to cabin crew — to be genuinely helpful and welcoming. As a foreign traveller, that makes a significant difference.
This week, I went through a very difficult travel experience with another airline, where I was stranded in Africa for three days while waiting for my Brazilian visa to be issued. A new visa requirement for Australians entering Brazil had only recently been introduced, and despite making a genuine mistake, I received very little support and was ultimately forced to pay significantly more to continue my journey.
When I finally arrived in São Paulo, I discovered that my luggage exceeded the allowance for my domestic flight. After explaining my situation to the LATAM desk staff, they showed incredible understanding and kindness by waiving the excess baggage fee.
After everything I had been through, this gesture meant the world to me — it genuinely brought me to tears.
I would like to sincerely thank Raquel Pedrosa and Fernanda Conti for their compassion and professionalism. Their kindness has left a lasting impression on me, and it is something I will always associate with LATAM Airlines.
Pésimo servicio
Te cambian los vuelos todo el tiempo, de ida y de regreso. Por “mantenimiento” con escalas de más de 8 horas sin otra solución.

Absolutely unacceptable service
Absolutely unacceptable service – never again with LATAM Airlines.
Our outbound flight (Lima → Iquitos) was cancelled, and the only “alternative” offered was a replacement flight two days later at 3 AM. That is not a solution—it’s a joke. Since this was not an option, we were forced to buy expensive last-minute tickets with another airline.
The return journey was even worse. We already had valid boarding passes, arrived at the gate, and were then told during boarding that there were no seats available. How is it possible to issue confirmed boarding passes and then deny passengers entry?
Instead, we were offered a later flight in the afternoon, which caused us to miss our connecting flight to Germany, leading to significant additional costs and disruption.
No reliability, no accountability, no professionalism. If you value your travel plans, avoid this airline at all costs.
