Haven Holidays 

We have stayed here a few times, but reading all the reviews before we arrived, we feared the worst. It was alot more expensive than we usually paid but seems everyone's put there prices up.

Coming back from a 7 day stay at Thorpe park with a group of friends and family. The accommodation was excellent for all 3 of our prestige newer model holiday homes. What made it better we had a quiet cul-de-sac with a grass area which the kids could use. The 7 days went really fast and we could have easily stayed for longer.

First of all phone signal on site is very poor if you want to use your phones data for anything it's more or less impossible. The WiFi in the bars is good but this is limited to the main complex and not around the full park.

Swimming was so-so. Out of the 7 days we got to have 4 swims which was fine. The little fair on site was also fine albeit for smaller kids. The parks are very basic which is again suited to smaller kids. We only watched the family entertainment in the club the night when we arrived, it was far too loud so the kids didn't want to go again which was fine with us. There did seem to be alot of cueing. We only had 1 meal on site which was OK, nothing special. The arcades are basically ticket machines if you like that kind of thing.

We used our holiday homes as a base really, all of our holiday was spent off site, in the evenings we used the arcades then a few drinks at the bar then back to the vans to carry on the party. The local zoo (very small but passes an hour for small kids) the beach was great. There was a travelling fair down the road £9 per person for 2 hours unlimited rides VERY GOOD VALUE no queuing at all for any rides. The local Chinese buffet was also decent when we tried it.

Another outing to cleethorpes using the bus which picks up and drops off on site, decent arcades and food again.

All in all we had a great holiday with friends, our kids ranged from 2 - 9. We basically made our holiday our own. If you rely on the site itself you will be left disappointed with the booking system and queues. The burger King was closed most nights and the night we used it took 45mins to get our food (only 3 people in the queue 🤣). Make sure you book what you can before you arrive and don't expect the world and you should be fine.

Unable to book the swimming sessions we needed.
Evening entertainment was very poor, the entertainment staff were amateur and couldn’t sing. It appeared their level of professionalism suited the average 7 year old.

A 10 minute walk from the entertainment to the nearest ladies toilet. (The ladies at the entertainment venue was out of commission).

The bar staff refused to provide a receipt for bar purchase when credit cards were used. The Bar Manager (Andrew Sterling) just said take it up with reception because the CC receipt machine had been broken for some time. It is a legal responsibility to provide a receipt! They refused to take cash.
Guests had to leave the entertainment area after 90 minutes so they could clean the venue? Strange because when guests were allowed to return there was little evidence any cleaning had been done.
They refused to take cash payments but were happy guests spent cash in the overcrowded amusement and slot machine areas.
They used Covid as the reason for all the restrictions and why facilities charged for were not available but in reality when guests were spending money in restaurants, the arcades or bars none of those restrictions were followed.

Its sad to see so many bad reviews as we have always enjoyed haven holidays. I must say that prices of stays have increased dramatically. I get covid has had an impact but the offerings are worse. Limited availability on all activities, fun passes more expensive then ever and can't really use them as everything is fully booked. We have just come back from Devon cliffs. The site was clean with easy beach access. £5.09 for a pint of Heineken is i bit pricy tho.

Perranporth - Beach Houses.

We have stayed at this park every year for the last 4 years as the kids really enjoy the area and the beach for bodyboarding in particular. The first year we stayed in a yurt but for the last 3 we have stayed in the beach houses. In 2020 the cost was £3900 but this year the cost increased to £5700 quite a jump in price which has been expected due to the increase in staycations albeit a little cheeky on the price increase.
However we were left very disappointed this year, the condition of the beach house ( one of only two) has deteriorated and sadly not been kept up to a condition that makes £4K a week acceptable let alone £5700. The interior and fittings such as the pool table was missing balls so couldn’t be used. Table tennis facilities damaged. THe large front opening patio doors could only be opened by myself as i had to put my 15 stone behind them to drag them open. The hot tub cover lift was broken so only i could open and close the cover. The kitchen units and ensuite units had peeling and cracking Formica. Some of the required kitchen utensils missing such and the grill pan handle so was difficult and slight dangerous to use. They market as having WiFi whilst in previous years it has been a BT unit that provided about 1-2 Mbps this has been changed to a EE unit that never worked at all. Despite asking on arrival for it to be looked at as i sadly had to deal with some work emails the promise from reception that it would be never happened. The library of books had all but gone and the games supplied were mostly missing lots of parts and the basket they were stored in were filthy. When the kids hit one of the ping pong balls behind the corner suite i moved it to retrieve and behind it was months of dust and old colouring in sheets from previous occupants so i don’t believe a deep clean had happened for some time. Previously a basket of wood, firefighters and matches supplied for the log burner and some charcoal for the BBQ but this year that was lacking. The pile of towels in the central hallway were all mixed and felt rather like someone else had left them rather than being a set provided with the Beach House. When the grass was cut during the week the guy doing the strimming left the grass and weeds all over the patio and no attempt was made to clean it up. Despite paying for access to the entertainment and bars we were unable to get a table in the restaurants all week as they were all booked up as soon as the app opened 14 days before. One rep told us that they knew some families had booked up tables every night but only turned up if they felt like using them which blocked out others, we were told we could turn up and wait around to see when someone didn’t come if we wanted to chance it. At least the booking for the evening venue was scrubbed and there were seats but the resort did this as a soft opening without sending out a text or email so as we couldn’t get a booking we missed the first few nights and only when we sneaked in via the arcade one of the bar staff told me about the soft opening and just queue to get in.
overall, The beach house No2 has become very tired and shabby especially after a 30% price increase this year. Won’t be recommending it or using again. I understand there are much better beach houses with larger accommodation to rent for in Perranporth.

We stayed at the Thorpe park “resort” 27th August 2021.
We have been holidaying at Haven parks every year for almost 25yrs we have 8 children ranging from 24yrs old down to 8yrs old so and this is without doubt the worst holiday experience we have had. There is little good to say about the park so much so I’m at home writing this review as we gave up on the 7 nights we paid for and left after just 3!.
I don’t know where to begin, dirty accommodation, disinterested staff, awful COVID security, terrible food (if any of the outlets are actually open), very poorly kept play areas, crazy ques for absolutely everything (due to understaffing), ridiculous excuses for not having food/drinks. We paid for the entertainment passes as we always do to then find out that this does not guarantee that you can actually watch any of the entertainment due to now needing to book a table at the show bar. We arrived at 3pm on the Friday and the first table we could book for the kids to watch any entertainment was 21:15 on the Monday! What a complete joke…

There is far to much for me to Wright down here I’m not one to leave reviews much but take the advice of a 44yr old dad of 8 and do your family a favour and avoid Haven like the plague, we will certainly be looking elsewhere in future.

Absolutely appalled by the terrible liberties and disgusting lack of respect shown to long-time customers (although that should not make a difference - all customers should be treated with much more respect than this).

Be Warned! Haven have started charging for every little thing that you want to do on their holiday sites.

This year we payed much more than we have in previous years but Haven now want to charge on top of that for everything else. Want to try to to pre-arrange where your caravan is? That's an extra £30 odd pounds (even if you have a mother-in-law in a wheel chair with a broken hip). Want to use the swimming pool (also, always part of the package in the past - and less expensive in the past too)? That's an extra £17.50 for each child or £35 for each adult.

It is a total rip-off and has ruined the only few days that I have had away with my wife and daughter.

To add insult to injury, the customer service is also terrible. My wife had to face a barrage of abuse when trying to clarify the situation with the placement of the caravan on the phone.

I then tried to make a complaint to the manager of the sight and was threatened with security. I must stress that whilst I was not happy, I did not use abusive language or raise my voice. I simply wanted to have my complaint heard.

We were not alone and spoke to other unhappy customers whilst in the queue.

Haven have no interest in providing a good experience for their customers and are just trying to use Covid as an excuse to grab as much money as they can.

We will never return.

Wanted a Family holiday where everyone would be catered for ... What a BIG disappointment
Booked three caravans on the Seashore Site in Great Yarmouth between the 3 Families
We had to pay for passes because we hired private caravans and on top of that we had to pay EXTRA for go carts and climbing wall, The swimming pool was too cold for Me and my Husband to swim in and the size of pool is not big enough to accommodate the site, as for the Marina Club, what a LOAD of rubbish, the Children were totally bored within 10mins of being taken to the kids club, the Adults was just basic resident entertainment staff singing BADLY .. total waste of the £44 each we paid for the 2 Adult passes as apart from the half hour we spent in the Marina Club (that was more than enough time) we didnt use or go to anything on site!!!
Basically £11 per person per day is outrageous
Also most of the on site staff (including reception)
we found to be downright rude and unhelpful
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Going back to the Vauxhall Holiday Park next year

accommodation was good apart from jelly like mould in shower. toilet bowles were dirty. staff didnt have a clue about available dining, entertainment and swimming. prices were exhorbitant. I have been with this company

Crumbs in drawers. Spiders all over, including a nest above twin beds. Had to pay £300 for passes (8 people), which we did not. Long walks to the show bar and arcade.

This is the worst place to take a family. During the pandemic we have all lost things including money. What I don't expect is to pay for my holiday at haven golden sands twice. At golden sands they have structured the activities so you that you have to book activities which 99% of the time have a price then once booked you still pay regarding making and painting things. It's poorly run and it's over priced and waiting is so long. We all as customers except things would be a bit more expensive due to the pandemic but after paying a hell of a lot for our caravan. There was literally 2 or 3 things included free. This place is a joke and I would say you must avoid as it will cost you double.....we will not be back....

Caravan was nice, that's why your getting one star! The rest of the holiday was rubbish. Booked presthaven sands, wasn't told we needed to book activities before arriving. Once here I tried to book things to do but everything is booked up all week. Spent more time off site in Rhyl than I have here as the kids are bored. Not had chance to watch any night time entertainment as all the tables are booked up. I've paid money to just sit In a caravan basically. Disappointing holiday, and unhappy kids. Cutting my holiday short by 2 days as we have all had enough. So badly organised, over priced and rude staff.

Well after many excellent holidays at Reighton Sands we spent 7 nights at Reighton Sands July 26th and although we had a beautiful caravan the praise stops there. I sent an email mail 4th August when I returned and an auto reply said I would hear within 21 days. Not heard anything. Paid a lot for stay and play but the booking system was a joke we were allowed only 1 session pre booked to swim as we were a party of 6 then to be told the other days had no space. Show bar felt like we were sheep headed in and out. I appreciate they were following rules but I never paid for restricted play I paid full price. My other issue was the lazy river and broken tiles we mentioned to the staff who advised the supplier was an issue so it was not possible to fix them. Very disappointing for the price charged.

Recently visited Marton Mere Haven and paid for stay and play which gave us access to the pool, shows and activities. Pretty much all activities cost extra, including things like den building 🤔 and were mostly fully booked! We only got an hour slot in the pool and the changing rooms were dirty. The shows were OK. We booked the restaurant for the first night and it looked good, been decorated well, but were told it was a limited menu on entering and then 4 different things we tried to order off the limited menu weren't available. The food was awful and the service not great.
Our caravan wasn't ready until between 7-8pm the day we arrived, yet they expect you to strip the beds of the sheets etc and empty all the rubbish before you leave! The reception was shocking and the telly didn't work. Thankfully there was lots to do off site and that's where we spent most of our time

Went to primrose valley in July the site was full of rubbish the caravan on arrival had not been cleaned no apology sent ro another van an hour later that was still dirty and a used ice cream tub still half full left in the freezer. Was told one of the restaurants did breakfast because we were rang the morning we were going as could not fit us in the one we had booked online in and the restaurant they said did breakfast didn't!! The restaurant we had booked on one of the nights was filthy and like a sauna. The woman to check you in was stressed had no customer service skills at all and the table had not even been cleaned we had reserved ut was absolutely appalling. I did not pay 600 pound to have to clean a caravan myself before I let my children in. If it hadn't of been for the children I would never of stayed there. Photographic evidence I have sent to haven and they said they will be in touch in 21 days and still waiting. The photos will be up and all over social media if they are not going to respond. This holiday was before 19th July before the covid restrictions were lifted. Health and safety would of had a field day. Absolutely disgusting I have had to ring head office twice now and promised a call and still nothing! This will be going further if they do not respond.

Positive Review Of Our Holiday(Very Long)

Well we had an amazing week at Littlesea,(4 adults, myself, husband and 2 sons aged 20 & 24).

We had a check-in time of 5-6pm but phoned the week before and they put us on a list to ring us if our van was ready early, which they did at 1230 pm, but due to traffic on the M25 we never arrived on site until 430pm, but check-in was quick and smooth, much prefer this as was in van in less than 5 minutes.

We had a lovely 3 Bedroom Deluxe Newer Van (we booked a deluxe but they had upgraded us to a Newer Deluxe) it was situated at 118 Westacres which was about 3-5 minutes walk to the complex and in a nice quiet area too. I was so shocked when we walked into the caravan, It was pristine not a dirty mark in sight, not that I went looking for faults, as you could tell how clean it was as soon as we walked in as it had that very clean smell about it, it was so spacious in the living and kitchen area, had a 3/4 size fridge freezer, a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet and a separate toilet and sink, the bedrooms where of adequate size but just glad we had space under the double bed to fit our cases otherwise we would have tripped over them😂 There was plenty of crockery and cutlery, pots and pans and the kitchen knives where actually sharp and there was even a cheese grater😱😂. So we will definitely be booking a newer deluxe in future (also had radiators throughout but didn’t need them).

Phone signal consistent on EE and pretty good on Sky Mobile, just the odd day we had issues getting a connection on Sky Mobile in the van and the complex, but in the complex we just used the free Wifi.

We went swimming indoors twice and outdoors once (could have easily gone more but we went off site instead so we did cancel a couple of bookings that we made online), had 4 nights in the showbar at 915pm which was our preferred time and the other 3 nights we booked a table in the Mash & Barrel just for drinks where you get 2 hours wether eating or just drinking. The 915pm entertainment was pretty good and there was a fab atmosphere, everyone getting up dancing to the party dances, there was plenty of spare tables each night, so would have been easy to just turn up if not booked. I much prefer the booking system for the evening entertainment as it was so easy to get a table unlike pre-COVID when we used to go in after 9pm and struggled to get a table (not at Littlesea though as this was our first time at this park).

The only paid for activity we did was the Adventure Golf and we booked it online, at £5 each, it was well worth it, took us about 45-50 minutes to complete and we had some good laughs I can assure you.

The complex itself was very clean, tidy, well kept and plenty of hand sanitiser stations dotted around.

All the staff on site from security to reception to the entertainment team where so friendly and helpful.

We had a Papa John’s a few times and the pizzas where very tasty, just didn’t think much of the garlic bread very dry and pretty tasteless so it ended up in the bin. Delivery each time to the van or showbar was in less than 25 minutes and always piping hot.

Only used the on-site Cooks Fish & Chip Shop once for a portion of chips and they where nice cooked ok and nice and fluffy inside even if they are frozen ones.

We had a lovely meal in the Mash & Barrel on our last night, service was excellent, seated at 715pm food at the table by 750pm, everything was very generous size portions and really tasty according to my other family members, I myself recommend the Fish & Chips with a side of Chip Shop Bites for definite which is what I had, the fish was huge and cooked to perfection, I couldn’t eat it all as got so much. My husband had the Mixed Grill and his steak was done just as he asked, looked delicious, my youngest son had the Lasagne and he said it was nice and my eldest had the Hunters Chicken with a HUGE side of onion rings which he thoroughly enjoyed. All very reasonably priced in-line with most restaurants we visit when at home. Our Waiter was really attentive and very friendly, just a shame I never noticed his name as he needs recognition.

We found the little shop on site ok just a bit pricey but only to be expected really but came in handy for fresh bread etc, or if we fancied a costa coffee

I have had many lovely holidays through haven over the years but after this summer i doubt i will ever be using one of their holiday parks again. If all the covid restrictions have been lifted in most parts of the uk why still all limited booking slots for all activities and entertainment. The money that is charged basically just for accomadation is disgusting. I understand staff shortages so things are limited and food outlets sometimes closed. But surely haven should not be charging full price when the holiday makers are left so unhappy with limited activity bookings and less places to eat.

Do not book to camp at the haven park blue dolphin. My daughter in law booked two x large pitchers but when we got there. There was no pitches available and when they did find us 2 pitches they was small. We had to cram our tents in as well as other people having to try and cram tents in. We paid for two x large pitches didn’t even get offered a refund absolutely disgusting. My husband had to park his car up the field as we couldn’t park it near our tent . I spoke to some of the other campers and they was in the same situation.

DO NOT BOOK AT HAVEN PRIMROSE VALLEY SUCH A RIP OFF. booked a break there on Monday 16th August 2021 to Friday 20 August 2021. To say we was suppose to be in a prestige caravan nothing prestige about it, very outdated, no room in bedrooms to swing a cat so to speak, beds awful so uncomfortable springs poping out, reported this promised replacement mattress never arrived, can't open doors in toilet area properly as the hall ways so narrow. Check in time meant Monday wasted check out time 10am Friday so really paid £1400 for 3 days, disgusting, such a rip off, stay play absolute waste of money, can only book once in the bar and club entertainment, rest time you queue queue queue and hope you get in. Not acceptable for anyone never mind explaining to children who become restless. JOKE, swimming same problems, only book twice if family of 4. So I would like to ask Haven at primrose Valley site, how can you justify your charges for unacceptable caravans, and charge few hundred pounds for a stay and play? It's Criminal and the company deserve to be empty. Looking on reviews you have not responded to any negative comments in over a year. Disgusting the complex is filthy, the entertainment rooms are outdated don't even accommodate toilet vacilities in ether venue you have to leave the building and go into the amusements arcade not family friendly or disabled friendly. ABSOLUTE JOKE OF A COMPANY DO NOT BOOK RIP OFF

2 days before our holiday, they message to say there is an 'issue' ISSUE! Downgrading the family, parents, 3 children & grandparents, to an older smaller caravan is not an 'issue'. It's a bloody disgrace!
I have never been on a holiday with Haven before and would recommend nobody ever does!

Not arrived yet but the late arrival time is very unimpressive. Is this a way of taking money for a day you aren't there to enjoy? Will never book Haven again. These poor reviews say it all.
