Our short break at Greenacres
We have just come back from our short break at Greenacres in Portmadoc we have had a lovely time
our Caravan was spotlessly clean on arrival and
very comfortable the team work very hard we had
lovely weather and close to the lovely beach
Black Rock Sands i would 100% recommend
Utterly discussed all activities booked…
Utterly discussed all activities booked up had to pay £181 for entertainment passes which was shocking five unhappy kids one with hidden disabilities can't even get a refund as been told should if done it on site . Staff not interested
What’s not to love great entertainment…
What’s not to love great entertainment lovely staff we stayed at Haven Mablethorpe in August just gone and cannot fault them, apart from the quayside kitchen been closed down to Covid! The only bad thing I would say is don’t eat from The Cooks takeaway it’s fish and chips and omg awful just buy grease would be cheaper, the food is awful made us all sick, papa John’s pizza is ridiculous too the prices are crazy but the mini market is great and the staff made up for it all, having a son a wheelchair user they were lovely with him and made sure he could try anything he wanted and they all did so with kindness. There was a guy there with his arm in a sling working on the activity bookings and I’m sorry I didn’t get his name cause he was amazing and so kind. Highly recommend Haven at Mablethorpe especially for the staff !
Poor holiday and unresponsive customer service
Had an awful holiday at the Lakeland’s park in August. Was advised it was fully open, when we arrived and for the following 3 days restaurant, pizza place, outdoor pool, all the activities were closed. Wrote and complained on 6/8 and was acknowledged received by Havens same day and nothing since well over a month later. Won’t be holidaying with them again but being the reviews on here are all pretty rubbish I don’t think they care about customer experience and just want the cash
What can I say, haven have gone down hill and rip people off
What can I say, not the company it was. Poor services and the do not care about customers or families. I was booked to go on a family trip 2 of the families had tourers we had booked a static so we could all go together. The haven site (The orchards) cancelled all touring holidays booked for 2022, meaning we could not holiday together. On booking my static I took out insurance. When I contacted haven to explain and to cancel as I had insurance, I was told I could not have my deposit back, when I explained I was coming as a family and they had there bookings cancelled therefore this was not our fault as we could now not holiday together. The customer services lady was rude, unhelpful and couldn't care less and said under no circumstances we could not have our deposit back loosing 60 pounds and the insurance did not cover this.
Won't be going back
We go to Haven most years as a family. We used to go to Cornwall but now mum and dad are older it is more difficult so last year we went to Seaview in Weymouth which was okay so we rebooked for this year.
Unfortunately dad then got Covid and was very poorly with it so was unable to go on the holiday so I went with my daughter and 4 year old Grandaughter.
We do not drive so I'd booked and paid for a grocery pack and breakfast pack to ensure we would be able to manage. Unfortunately haven cancelled these packs due to a national shortage of food. They assured me I would be able to get stuff from the shop on site.
We eventually arrived at Haven after an awful journey. The caravan was beautiful. My grandaughter was very excited and ran into the glass door which didn't have any kind of sticker on, she fell back and cracked her head on the coffee table.
We then went to sit down and get some food only to be told the restaurant wasn't opening this year due to them having no chef. We then tried to order pizza from pappa John only to be told that was not opening this year. So I was left with 2 children and no shopping and nowhere to eat!!!
The next day was just as bad. Walked over to Weymouth Bay site, restaurant opened at 12, hung about waiting only to be told weren't serving food till 1 due to lack of a chef. We couldn't do that as had activities booked and paid for. Went to the shop to find they hadn't got anything due to national shortages.
Staff were very unhappy and unhelpful. Don't think we heard one good morning morning and certainlyno smiles.
Impossible to get booked in to restaurant the following day so had to spend money on buses/taxis.
Awful experience
I have put in a complaint which has been ignored.
Steer clear !!
One of the most disgusting parks we…
One of the most disgusting parks we have stayed at. Our caravan was sealed when we arrived as cleaned and covid safe. This was not the case. There was standing water in all crockery. The cooking utensils and all cutlery were filthy. Items left under the beds which very dusty. Hair on shower walls
Mould round taps and shower plugs. Toothpaste round sink sides and stand and round taps. Dust all over cooker hood . Beetroot stains on cupboard. Dirt bits in sink in kitchen and plug hole. Cracked kitchen.bowl.with chewing gum stuck to base.
They wouldn't move us and came and attempted to rectify but cutlery still filthy and utensils and bowl still cracked. Was a filthy dirty bleached cloth which they removed but still left a dirty brush covered in hairs and a dirty mat covered on short white dog hairs
I have just returned from Hopton
I have just returned from Hopton. We had a family holiday (11 of us), have given 3 stars for caravans, which were clean and comfy. My biggest complaint, the same as others on this site; was the booking system. I felt as though I had let my grandsons down as no activities available. No one on reception told us to check availability before we bought passes (£196). Luckily in one respect we got them cheaper as our holiday was last week of August (off peak). I am writing to Haven, but I could be waiting a while according to some reviews on here. I agree with person who said report to trading standards. Don’t book with Haven, sad to say. Many people work hard and save for a holiday only to be ruined by greed.
Prestaven
Booked prestaven for 3 nights in a prestige caravan. We arrived at the caravan, 4 parking spaces was outside our caravan, so if you go out your not getting a parking spot. We even tried to upgrade and the woman was very rude and told us we cannot upgrade! You have to book a certain caravan apparently to get the parking at the side of your caravan. We have stayed at primrose valley haven and this is by far the best! We booked a standard caravan here and had parking! We walked up to the chippy at 8 o'clock at night, the chippy was open. We went inside and they said we had to order via the app, which we did and then we couldn't order til the next day! We had 2 starving kids and had to walk back! We think its ridiculous!! The fair has 4 rides not even worth going on. The place is very dated and scruffy. This is the only caravan park we have been on in our lives where you have to park in a car park and you dont have a designated parking spot unless you spend double what your holiday is worth! Avoid this place!
Heartless
Still waiting almost a month for a refund from presthaven. No excuse!!!!
perran sands, Perranporth the worst holiday ever
perran sands, the worst holiday ever. One star is too many.
Vegetarians should give this place a miss. They have no idea.
There are vegetarian marking upon the menu, many just add ons, while dishes you'd expect to be vegetarian are unmarked. Some are, others, like fruit crumble, are not.
Wait one hour and forty minutes from arrival at our table, to the first course arriving.
Staff are rude, poorly trained and unhelpful.
Entertainment is repetitive and dull.
The beach is inaccessible to those with walking difficulties.
On making a complaint, the friendly manager says, "if you'd told us" I did tell you. "Oh" They then pass you to another manager who aggressively tells you you are wrong. If you stand your ground they tell you to go to reception. The next day, when they open, reception tell you to go to the manager of the department, (who sent you ) they can't help.
We went to celebrate a birthday, people were wished a happy birthday from the stage but not our guy. They lost his.
The water went brown, (not the parks fault) but they did nothing to help. Phones not being answered, when you walk to reception there is a piece of paper advising you "not to drink the water" it contained iron and magnesium apparently; and suggesting you buy water from their shop, For someone with a walking disability that was impossible. Huge queues.
No breakfast. Hot baps were available in the shop but not for vegetarians.
Security staff were unhelpful to aggressive. On evacuating the main building I was sent through the back door and required to walk around to the front, by the time I got around there most were back inside the show had restarted and I was in severe pain. As I sat down the band started their last number.
Trying to find the complaint form on Haven web site I just go round and round.
Tell your friends, give this place a miss.
I will advise Cornwall Tourist Board and Licensing Authority that this place is not good and reflects very
badly on the County.
Filthy caravan at Havens Thorpe Park Cleethorpes…
My husband booked us 4 nights at Havens Thorpe Park site arriving on the 30th August. We booked primarily based on their 9 point cleaning promise. We were allocated No 121 The Meadow. The caravan had its blue seal across the door indicating it had been prepared for us inline with this 9 point cleaning regime. However the caravan was not just unclean it was filthy, not just dust but an accumulated build up of grime, dirt and cobwebs over the season. They are definately not carrying out their promised thorough clean as detailed in their on line booking details. We left the following morning... we await Havens response to our on line complaint made today and will update this review based on their response
UPDATE: we have received communication today advising that we will receive a full refund. Hopefully this will be fairly quick. We are pleased that Haven acknowledge the problem and offer us the courtesy of our money back. For this reason I am changing my 1 star to 2 in acknowledgement of their prompt reaction to this.
Amazing holiday and staff thanks
Well we’re to start amazing holiday at Rivera sand holiday park in hayle
Caravan was clean tidy and staff so friendly
Best holiday ever can’t fault haven Holiday Parks
Site was tidy and clean
We also had to cancel our holiday for 2022 and spoke to Grant
Again can’t fault Haven and it’s staff they were polite helpful and even transfered the money we paid to our break in may so we didn’t lose it
Thanks Grant and thank you Haven
Golden sand, Haven
1. Rip off prices. Over 500 for 3 nights in the cab.
2. We had an issue with the prepaid breakfast as no one tell us any info. about it. After 1 hour of searching for someone we found answer in local market that our breakfast was canceled. After 3 weeks I contacted them with asking for refund. The women on an info line assured me that someone get back to me shortly but no one contact me until now.
3. I did not expect the luxury caravan. It was small, nice and tidy but the worse was the bed and especially the mattresses. They been totally over used and uncomfortable. I felt every single spring in my back.I am end up with serous back pain and my wife slept on the sofa in living room.
You can't give any less than 1 star!
You can't give any less than 1 star!
Haven at Reighton used to be a family camp site but it's not anymore.
We have been going for 10 years + with a 3 year break and what a difference we have noticed.
The 'Local' staff are actually judging people and putting them into a class system of who and who not to treat with respect and serve in good time and this i am afraid is taught by Management at the highest level because these kids are not smart enough to work out they are being manipulated!
Most staff will ask you if you have an 'owners card' from the bell, then when you say no they ask what part of the camp you are staying and thats when the games begin ! We have actually watched the staff change tune intirely when people say they stay in caravans!
If you are a family in a touring caravan, forget this place, they have let the toilet block and showers get run down so bad that you never want to come back for a reason, it's the same reason they banned tents and knock down the main toilet and shower block - they want this site for statics only and they are driving for a full house of 'owners only' because this sites to good for us lower class 'none owners' and all they want is wealthy go to bed at 9pm pensioners with half a pulse!
The food is dreadfull, both in the Barrel and Mash (now Hawkwood) and the Cooks chip shop.
Never in my life have i tasted Fish and chips as bad as 'Cooks'
The wait can be anything up to 40 minuets depending on if you are an 'owner' or a lower class holiday maker and this fact can also play a big part in weather they have anything left to sell you after you lose the will to live standing in a que of just 2 other people.
Don't mention you are staying in a Caravan if you go to cooks because all the fish will jump back in the sea and the chips will jump back in the freezer!
This in not a place for teenages as security will make your life hell.
Some staff are really nice people, not locals, just people from all over the UK wanting to work on a holiday camp and you can tell they love the job, Entertainments so bad it's actually funny, and the bar we had no issue with, mostly friendly staff, drinks served prompt .
Imagine this now before you book a Holiday at Reighton Sands, I am almost 50, spent 22 years in the Royal Navy and my partner works for the NHS .
My other half was actually asked by security on her way back from the supermarket if she was 'smuggling booze into the club house'
Good God that man needs a lesson in manors .
Vote with your feet and walk away, never Holiday at Reighton sands!
worst site ever.......
£180 to stay on the Greenacres site for 2 nights, in our own van. We never received any e-mails regarding entertainment (we were meant to get some sessions free with allocated times sent by email) and so missed out on all entertainment. Soft play was closed, 2 restaurants were closed, no swimming spaces available. A total waste of money. Park was so rough with groups of teenagers throwing stones and dog dirt and every evening we were woken by people fighting on the campsite. Never again, dreadful, dreadful, dreadful.......
Reighton sands holiday from hell
Reighton sands holiday from hell . Rude staff in the chip shop who can’t actually cook should be sacked . My children were refused sausages 4 times because the fat gets too cold and turned away twice and told to come back in an hour with a que of only 5 people ? This was our family holiday and certain staff at Reighton sands Need handing P45s . Security are rude bully boys and deserve the abuse they get as they talk to people like night club doorman at trouble pubs . This is August and the Hawkwood was half empty . People were being refused entry . Family’s were being made to sit outside in the cold with a half full tables . One guy got refused entry to sit outside in the sun with his dog because he hadn’t booked a table to eat ? When he told security he wasn’t eating he was banned from the Hawkwood with his family ! An Irish family were branded travellers in a racist way and weather they were travellers or not they were really nice people and ‘Lee’ on security deserves all the trouble he’s asking for treating people like this . The sun was nice and the sea was fantastic but Haven will not be around for much longer with staff treating customers like this ! Some people paid thousands to be treated like slaves in a prison camp . Absolutely shocking staff made our holiday and many others angry to the point of getting our voices heard about this because it’s the pits !
My experience at Thornwick bay Haven
My experience at Thornwick bay Haven is exactly the same as all the 1 star reviews here for all there sites.
I have used Haven all around the country for many years now multiple times a year and was seriously thinking of purchasing a static but this year has been so poor I will not be returning. The general theme here is you are paying a lot more money for a lot less. There is very little chance of booking anything and if you are lucky enough to, you only get a short time slot. If you enjoy paying a highly inflated price to spend your evenings cooking your own food and spending your evening sitting in your caravan every night this place is for you. Personally I like doing that some nights of my holiday but I also want to use the facilities for meals, entertainment and swimming and don’t want to plan an itinerary a week before I arrive to secure my one slot a week.
I’m used to paying inflated prices during school holidays as disgusting as that is but Haven management are really exploiting there guests now.
Oh and Haven, staff shortages are not an excuse, the problem is the management. If you are short of entertainers at least put a kids disco on for the kids so we don’t have to spend our one 2 hour slot a week for the show bar watching a screen explaining how to use the ordering app. It only takes a DJ and a few lights. Poor kids. And shame on you Haven.
Haven or Hell? Definitely Hell!!!
Our Haven holiday at Cleethorpes this year was disappointing to say the least:
1. £500 more expensive than we have paid in previous summers.
2. An additional £300 for Play Plus, with absolutely no added value!
3. Our Deluxe caravan was desperately in need of a refurbishment. The soft furnishings smelled. Mould on walls in main bedroom, Oven continually went out. Fire didn't work. Shower attachment not compatible with fittings. No evidence of 'deep cleaning'.
4. We pre-booked our two family swimming slots (1hour), but spent 15 mins of this time held up in queues.
5. All outdoor activities were booked up. Except for a crazy golf session which we had to pay for in advance. On the day it was pouring with rain, but we couldn't cancel or get a refund.
6. Bar tariff changed constantly. Never charged the same amount for a round of drinks!
7. Bedding damp and unsanitary.
8. No phone signal in caravan. Poor Wi-Fi generally. made it impossible to use Haven App.
9. Haven website did not provide enough information on booking events, and accessibility for Play Plus customers.
10. Way too much priority and emphasis on 'owners'.
Nice weekend away
Booked a stay at blue dolphin due to our abroad holidays being cancelled. Not had a caravan holiday in years so didn't know what to expect. Site was clean staff friendly was a good base to explore yorkshire beaches, we did whitby scrabrough and filey with two kids and the dogs. looking at booking again.
