Great half day excursion. Knowledgeable guides. Not too strenuous hike. Would recommend.

Well organized, great very enthusiastic and knowledgable guides

Our experience was really great...thanks to greatness of Etna, of course...but what made it unforgettable were the nicest , kindest and very professional guides of your staff.
So , a special regard to Salvo, Marco and Peppe

Onvergetelijke ervaring, we hadden het ook erg getroffen met onze gids Fabio, vol passie en enthousiasme vertelde hij veel over alle ins en outs van de vulkaan. Veiligheid stond voorop, groep niet te groot, maximaal 10 per gids. Soms kon de geur en de gassen die uit de vulkaan kwamen heftig zijn en het is erg fris boven, dus een sjaal meenemen is geen overbodige luxe.

Am 7.10. nahmen wir an der Ganztagestour zum Etna und der Alcantara Schlucht teil. Hier meine Zusammenfassung unserer Erfahrungen:
Durchgeführt wird die Tour mit Ford Torneo oder MB Sprinter Fahrzeugen - sehr beliebt bei Amazon für die Paketzustellung. 9 Personen inkl. Fahrer wurden dann in dieses Fahrzeug eingepfercht. Die angekündigten 4x4 Jeeps wären auch nicht notwendig gewesen, da die einzelnen Stops auch bequem mit einem tiefergelegten Opel Manta hätten erreicht werden können. Von offroad Abenteuer also keine Spur.
Unsere „kleine Gruppe“ bestand aus 8 dieser Fahrzeuge also deutlich mehr als 50 Teilnehmer. Selbst in der deutschsprachigen Untergruppe waren wir noch über 20.
Unseren deutschsprachigen Guide sahen wir nur bei den Stops, der Fahrer sprach weder deutsch noch englisch.
Die Höhle war ca 50m lang und es gab nicht wirklich viel zu sehen.
Die Wanderung war eher unspektakulär und hatte teilweise etwas von einer Prozession, da außer unserer kleinen Gruppe natürlich auch noch andere kleine Gruppen unterwegs waren. Der Gipfel des Etna war nicht zu sehen, was wohl auch nicht ungewöhnlich ist.
Das Mittagessen war ganz ok. Leider war die Pasta teilweise nur noch lauwarm. Völlig inakzeptabel war, dass des Stop für das Essen 2 Stunden dauerte. Aber irgendwie muss man die 8 Stunden ja füllen.
Wirklich spektakulär ist die Alkantara Schlucht. Leider fehlt in der Tourbeschreibung ein deutlicher Hinweis, Wasserschuhe mit zubringen. So wurde unsere Wanderung durch den Fluss sehr beschwerlich und teilweise schmerzhaft, auf jeden Fall aber viel zu kurz. Einige andere Teilnehmer sind dann erst garnicht ins Wasser gegangen.
Ein Stern gibt es, weil der Guide in den wenigen Momenten, wo wir in trafen anschaulich und informativ erklärte
Ich habe keine Ahnung, wie die hohen Bewertungen zustande kommen, für uns war die Tour nicht nur rausgeschmissenes Geld, viel schlimmer noch wir verloren einen ganzen Urlaubstag, an dem wir dem Etna sicher besser hätten erkunden

Great pick up and drop off option. Fantastic trip overall. The guides were safe and competent and good humoured. Perfect experience overall.

Probably a “once in a life-time event“..!? The Etna-Experience was very unique; to see, feel and breathe such a powerful, wonderful nature’s vulcano-feature will be a lasting memory. And to get the right shoes, jacket and especially to have the great guide Fabio made it just right. THX! A lot; the memory will last..! 🏔️

Great guides and fun day

Francesco was an amazing driver and guide for our Mount Erna excursion! He avoided crows which was nice. He is very knowledgeable and informed us all about the history of the volcano which was great! And he was fun, funny and flexible! Truly an A+ experience with Francesco!! Loved our time with him and loved the tour as well! We would highly recommend doing this while in Sicily!

We are wild about our 8 hour Mt Etna tour with Francesco of Go-Etna Tours. He tailored the tour to our age and physical abilities. He is knowledgeable, well spoken, easy to understand, cheerful and humorous. If (when) We return to Sicily we will request him as our guide and driver. If there was a 10 🌟 rating he would have it from everyone in our group.

Francesco was an outstanding guide. Not only was he genuinely funny and engaging, but he also had a remarkable ability to explain complex geological and volcanic phenomena in a way that was easy for non-experts to understand. His passion for working on Mount Etna was evident throughout the entire excursion, and his deep knowledge made the experience both fascinating and memorable.

What I appreciated most was his flexibility and attentiveness to the group. He was very considerate of those who realized that certain parts of the route might be beyond their abilities, making sure everyone could enjoy the experience safely and comfortably.

I'm sure Francesco is an excellent guide on any tour, but experiencing Etna with him felt truly special. Standing on one of the world's most active volcanoes while learning from someone so knowledgeable and passionate was genuinely a once-in-a-lifetime experience. He turned what could have been just a hike into an unforgettable journey and one of the highlights of our trip.

Very well organized and guides were great

A brilliant day out on Etna. Organisation good and well looked after throughout. We were fortunate that Etna was ‘performing’ with ash clouds being emitted on our day and the weather was clear for good views.

Very well organised tour to the Etna summits. Great communication about transport. The tour was superb, and the guide stopped often to give us information, making the hike not too difficult. We were lucky with the weather and saw a lot. I would recommend.
