A joke of a system

If you wanna do something simple like set up a dividend reinvestment plan for your existing EFT‘s - It’s hard as to deal with Computershare.
I spoke to 3 people today and also went through the automated computer share system a couple times I could not set up dividend re-investment. Now I’m on a wild goose chase of changing my address through the brokerage app which is Pearler, and then eventually I’m hoping once a code is sent out in the mail that I will be able to reinvest the dividends it should be a way more simpler process. Dividend reinvestment is a very entry-level piece of financial advice. It should not be that hard!!

Absolute hot garbage. This place SUCKS! The online team that’s supposed to help you, don’t. The first one I chatted with was talking to me like I’m dumb. The second one tried to help; and then just ended the chat. I never looked up reviews for the place until now and i understand why it’s so poor. Going the extra mile
I had the pleasure of having Chris Atwater resolve a problem that I had been working on for a year. After speaking to four different people, this rep finally understood what the issue was and resolved it in one phone call. It appears that all people want to do is pass you off to someone else without even listening or trying. Chris went above and beyond and assured me when the phone call was over the issue would be resolved, AND IT WAS! If only there were more people like Chris, willing to go the extra mile. Thank you so so much Chris.
Patience helps to solve the problem!
Often when you have to speak to someone they are quick to hang up which puts pressure on you if you have a problem!
However Rukhsana (not sure on the spelling) was kind, very patient and very helpful which calms the tension when your trying to solve a problem! If only everyone had the patience to solve things like she did. Very professional and polite.

Designed to prevent customer service. I truly believe this company acts as a buffer between shareholders and their investments, so that shareholders have less (or no) access to information regarding their accounts.

Pity there is no zero star rating
Pity there is no zero star rating, if it were, Cumputershare UK would certainly get it from me. This company offers an absolutely useless service. It claims to offer postal share sale service only to (after a couple of expensive curriers paid from overseas) reject it every time. No need to mention a pile of documents one has to certify and submit. The second rejection came for the:"Dealing Service for Stock Class", although in their website there is no mention of stock classes that are "saleable" or not. If you hold a share certificate through Computershare UK and happen to live overseas, good luck. Likely you won't be able to sell it ever.

Overwhelming terrible experience. Negative stars are appropriate. I’m not sure this company could suck any worse, but that is not keeping them from trying their best. Customer service is nonexistent, as are supervisors. Consistency lose visibility of customer funds. Terrible security controls and a general lack of care for customer satisfaction.

The sale of my AstraZeneca shares......
The sale of my AstraZeneca shares by Computershare USA after the harmonisation from the UK registry to USA was a disaster which caused me a loss. The level of communication was diabolical and I was given incorrect information as to the date of the sale which didn't happen on the date they confirmed. I wrote directly to Computershare's CEO who didn't even have the courtesy to reply to my email. The result is I will no longer invest in any shares held on a Computershare Registry any where in the world. My recommendation based my experience is that you avoid this company at all costs. The worst financial institution I have ever had the misfortune of working with.

I work for a Family Office, so we deal with these guys a lot.
This is the worst run company I have ever encountered in the financial services industry. The agents will just straight up lie to you and tell you conflicting narratives.
If you need to sell shares or transfer them in any kind of timely way, you're most likely out of luck. There is a lack of professionalism displayed here that baffles me. This industry demands honesty and timely execution. They will shamelessly charge you for their own mistakes. We advise all clients to stay away, and every time someone comes to us with assets at Computershare, we immediately take them out.
Avoid at all costs if you can help it.

Non existent customer service - no email, live chat never works and you wait forever.
Share transfers constantly rejected. They claim the requests expired, which isn't my fault - it's in their hands and their incompetence. They then conveniently charge you for failed transfers, hmmm. This has happened 3 times!!!
Agents don't understand their own policies and they constantly lie. Ask for a manager, surprisingly - they are never available. There's no clear complaints or escalation policy.
Documents and account changes must be sent by post and it takes up to a month !!! (it's 2026 not 1986 !!)

This company is a joke!!! Customer service is totally messed up, they are not customer focused, can nicely hang up on you. Talking w customer service can take you minimum 45’, identification is complicated, they have no automation. We have been fighting from them since January 2026 to pay our dividends by bank transfer & not by check since in Europe we don’t use checks. First version was that they will charge us for the transfer eur50, after 4 months became Eur200!!! On a usd255 cheque they charge usd100 bank transfer fee! Also on a usd1030 cheque they charge usd100 bank transfer fee! They notified us about this by post, No email communication! They r robbers & have no idea how to run their business.
Worst cannot be
A company which has operational processes and customer service level of 90s by using sending documents through post - no use of emails . On overseas phone call for one and half hour ending my case with their fourth associate and one of them to hung up the call because she couldn’t accept any bad criticism for their low level of service (torture ) to me (only?) . To keep sending cheques for payments to Europe since banks in Europe don’t accept them for almost 15 years and to charge for changing a cheque to wire bank transfer at the amount of 100 US dollars per cheque . For a 245 US dollars cheque they charged me 100 US dollars for wire the amount of a last payment of a company acquired by other . If this is no theft then what is theft ? I think it’s a way to keep - use clients money for their own benefit and get profit out of high commission. - handing cost for witing the money .
It was not my decision to use them but my employer’s decision 20 years ago . My employer doesn’t exist as a company anymore …

Dishonest Inefficient and horrible service
The company has most horrible dishonest and inefficient systems. The calls normally take hours to get answered and the client is tossed around from one agent to another without any resolution.
The online services do not work properly and many times the personal insformation like banking or tax declaration does not get updated.
They do not use email to contact customer but use outdated 18th century methods like ordinary post. I understand that some forms are required to be submitted with original signature but same forns are being used online on their website and these forms never get updated.
None of the agents provide correct infomation about tax forms and dividend transfer etc. and the company has not provided clear details about their charges.
They have no clue about the international payment systems. NZ has stopped using check ayments since long and the companty still keeps sending checks via post even though I have told their agents many times to stop sending checks. Now they say thay they will charge $35.00 to replace checks. This is cheating of highest order.
I have some dividends pending with them since last eight months which are unpaid due to one reason or another. Sometime the bank details do not get updated and this has to be done online again and again. And there is no confirmation from their side that the online update was successful. Then they want a new tax declaration by post even though same is done online. All these changes take months to get processed.
On top of all that they come out with some funny rules that if the money is transferred in any other currency other than USD then they shall deduct USD 200 as some tax or charge. Where as any SWIFT transfer can be made in USD without any problem. All these issues simply prove that Computershare is just another CON operation and they try their best not to pay any dividend to the clients using any fowl means.
Is there any way I can transfer my account to another Broker and also transfer all unpaid dividends to new broker. Please help

Extremely disappointing experience with Computershare customer service. I spent over an hour on the phone, mostly waiting, only to reach representatives who seemed unhelpful, unprepared, and unwilling to resolve the issue. The offshore support experience was frustrating from start to finish — poor communication, long hold times, and no sense of urgency or accountability. For a company handling important financial matters, the level of customer service is unacceptable.
