I would have given 5 stars but our room…
I would have given 5 stars but our room was really small hence 4 stars. The staff are the stars of this hotel. We can't thank them enough!! The food is also fantastic, there is everything you could wish for at breakfast! The dinner menu has 3 choices for starters and mains. The dessert choice is great also.

I would highly recommend this hotel
I would highly recommend this hotel to stay in. We decided on a last minute trip and this hotel exceeded our expectations. We were upgraded as soon as we got there. We were early but given our room straight away. The staff were helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. My gluten free diet was catered for without any fuss and the staff in the dining room were respectful and helpful. Again, nothing was any trouble. I would recommend this hotel and am definitely staying here again

This was our first time with Blackpool…
This was our first time with Blackpool promotions, we enjoyed our break but would probably not return. The bus on the way down was cramped and uncomfortable with cracks in the windscreen, which we advised the promoter about. As for the hotel it was ok, we paid for a premier room which had a new bathroom. The hotel is non smoking but there were clearly guests smoking in their rooms as you could smell it in the narrow corridors. It was a pity the work had not been completed to add the pool and spa to the hotel. The hotel food was good, just as you see it in the adds and the staff were all friendly. There is a large cabaret room down stairs with good singers on nightly but for some reason the guests were not using it and we felt sorry for the artist's and the compare. Not sure how they could encourage the guest to us the facility better as the drink prices were very good.

We are pleased to learn that you enjoyed your holiday and in particular the food, cabaret and beer prices. We also thank you for your kind words regarding our staff who do work hard to ensure all guests have an enjoyable stay.
With regards to your coach to Blackpool, the coach you travelled to Blackpool on is 55 seat 2016 model modern executive coach. This is a regular coach on the Blackpool Promotions hires and to date I have not received any other complaints regarding this coach however I have noted your valued feedback. There should have been at least 6 free seats onboard the coach if you had wished to change to another seat to avoid the bar that you mention which caused your discomfort. With regards to the cracks on the windscreen, our coach provider are aware of this and a new windscreen was ordered as soon as the cracks appeared and this has now been fitted. As the cracks did not meet and were not obscuring the drivers vision in any way, they were not classified as an MOT failure and the coach had recently passed a random VOSA (Vehicle and Operator Services Agency) roadside inspection.
The Royal Ruskin is a no smoking hotel however unfortunately from time to time guests choose to ignore this warning however if it is discovered by the cleaner or reported to reception they would face a £200 deep cleaning charge as detailed on literature within the hotel bedrooms.
As part of the exciting extension to the hotel along with the new pool and spa there will be a new modern cabaret lounge which will we hope encourage guests to stay in and enjoy the cabaret on offer.
Once again we thank you for your feedback although are sorry to learn that you may not return in the future.

The staff and services are good. It's an old building so only so much can be done, but they have made the most of it. Modern decor and clean. Seems to attract alot of bus trips and no doubt due to the evening entertainment provided.

Very tatty and the pictures didn't…
Very tatty and the pictures didn't resemble our room at all. Pieced carpet that didn't feel they had underlay underneath. The furniture was old and dirty. The bedside cabinets had no draws basically a box with all the laminate peeling off. The bathroom was unclean and very small again nothing like the spacious pictures on the website. The windows were filthy and the window nets were too. The staff were pleasent and the location was good that was the only good thing it had going for the hotel.

Thank you for your feedback although we are sorry that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion.
Recent inspection of the bedroom you were allocated found the bedroom to be clean with regards to the bathroom, furniture and windows however we are sorry if this was not the case during your stay. Unfortunately you did not report any issues regarding cleanliness to reception as they would have been immediately rectified and if you had wished we could have offered you an alternative bedroom for your 1 night stay.
We have a continual process of refurbishing and upgrading our bedrooms and this bedroom is due to be re-decorated soon at which time the bedroom furniture which is now slightly worn will be replaced.
We thank you for your kind words regarding the staff, it is just unfortunate that you did not mention your dissatisfaction during your stay to afford our staff the opportunity to assist in order for you to have a more enjoyable stay.

Food could be better, also I like my veg and potatos , only got two of them...

We are sorry that the lift broke down during your recent stay with us at the Royal Seabank Hotel. Our lifts are regularly maintained and on the occassion they do break down engineers will visit the hotel within 2 hours and generall fix the issue. Unfortunately on this occassion a spare part was required to be ordered which was why the lift could not be repaired sooner. Unfortunately from time to time in all hotels and public buildings, mechanical failure may result in the lifts breaking down. Should any guest report to reception that they are unable to manage without the lift, we would always try to offer an alternative bedroom either within the hotel or in one of our sister hotels in Blackpool in order for guests to fully enjoy their stay.
Should any guest raise a complaint regarding thier meals during the dinner service, an alternative would be provided.
On a positive note we are pleased you enjoyed the entertainment and thank you for your kind words regarding the staff. I do feel if it had not been for the issue with the lift you would have had a more enjoyable stay and hope this would have been reflected in your overall review score. If you are to book to stay with us in the future, please request a low floor room a the time of booking and if there are any issues at all during your stay ensure you speak to the staff who are there to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Should have stayed home
Ok went to the royal sea bank hotel, 11 of us for my mother’s 50th birthday, got down ok no issues there, food the first night was amazing no fault there, then the first night entertainment was upon us that’s where it all went to pot, we were taking pictures having fun and we weren’t even that noisy the table in front were louder but we got told to be quiet 3 times, and accused of being on drugs because we were happy and celebrating, which irked us so much we just upped and left and went to our rooms, next day we went to the 80s bar reflex which was superb, dinner was an issue as I didn’t tick chicken nuggets but I wasn’t at breakfast so ,but fair play the chef put them on but I got rushed from the table at 6 because someone else was booked into it when the sitting was till half 6, had to leave half the food, then the last night we were there the meat was so chewy that it stuck in my sisters throat and took her 30 min to dislodge it which took its tole on her throat and chest, we went to the entertainment and granted the 4 ds were good, and the singer Stacey was good also, big shout out to waitress Anna the only one to make sure my sister was ok after the beef tried to kill her, and waiter Daniel was nothing but nice, and then to top off this sham of a weekend my mums suitcase which I have pictures of in perfect condition ended up being bashed and torn open at the end of the bus ride back, safe to say my first experience in Blackpool is looking like my last! Rubbish weekend after all the hype it was well a slap to the face to all of us!

Enjoyable stay reliving childhood memories with my 84 yr old Mum and siblings
Great location right by tram and bus stops on the sea front. Staff couldn’t do enough for you - reception, bar, restaurant and maid service all good and with a smile. Food was good with excellent choices at every meal. Restaurant staff were friendly and efficient. Room clean if rather small for 3 adults (one double and one single) but we had a side sea view which was nice. Could have done with a full length mirror, there was one but was placed in an Awkward place, so unable to use properly. Entertainment was good, The Four D’s were fantastic on Sunday night - enjoyable weekend stay

Yes it was a nice break I went with 3 teenagers, nice big room plenty of bed space, very clean, staff was very friendly but the room was a bit cold, room 200 and as people smoke at the doorway u could smell the smoke in our room, but as it was for 1 night & we were out most the evening I actually didn't bother complaining, good value for money breakfast was nice, the fruit in the morning was very budget.
Overall nice hotel, there is life entertainment too, if you want a quiet room I would suggest ensuring it's the other end of the hotel, didn't bother me

We did not stay at the Royal Alexandra Hotel, after checking in and
finding our room, we found it to be dirty, beds need upgrading, ensuite shower inadequate, and bedroom not big enough to swing a cat in. the whole hotel needs work and in bad need of upgrading, carpets are dirty and walls need coat of paint .Window in bedroom cracked and black tape put on it,
The staff were friendly enough and when we asked for a refund there was no quibble, but would definitely not recommend to anyone.

The Royal Alexandra is our best value hotel and offers the equivalent of two star accommodation. The hotel is very popular with ourselves and usually receives great feedback due to the excellent value holiday packages on offer.
In reference to your room - unfortunately our rooms are not identical in floor space, all rooms vary in size and shape. In regards to cleanliness, we do apologise deeply for this as it is certainly not the usual standard the Royal Alexandra aims to provide. Once notified of any room cleanliness matters, management would ensure these are rectified immediately. We will speak with our housekeeping team to ensure our usual high standard of service is maintained.
The window in the room in which you stayed has since been repaired by our maintenance team.
Thank you very much for the kind words on our staff, we all work very hard to deliver wonderful service with a smile. Although sad to hear you departed early - we are pleased your refund was organised without delay.
With continued investment into the Royal Hotels we are always upgrading and updating - we have painted and refreshed many of our guest rooms for the 2018 season and aim to update all rooms in due course however this does take time. Further - Towards the end of 2017 we finished a lower ground floor level of fabulous modern family rooms which receive excellent feedback, and this year so far we have updated the exterior of the hotel and added fantastic modern steps to the entrance. We will continue with our exciting upgrades.

disappointed!!
disappointed!!! the lift to the fourth floor did break down for at least a couple of hours for each of the three days we stayed, as my wife had to struggle up to the forth floor on several occasions this did her weak heart no good at all,the fire alarm test went off at around 7 to 7 30 am without warning, also the power to the landing went off for a short period.
apart from this the service in the dining room was second to non, and the hotel staff were very good and helpful.
also down stairs ladies and gents toilets at mid morning were crying out to be cleaned.

We do apologise for the issues relating to our lift - unfortunately many of the issues are due to guests leaving the door open on one of the floors, this causes a delay as a member of staff has to physically close the door once notified.
We are sorry to hear you encountered mobility issues whilst at the hotel - The Royal Seabank provides mobility level 1 bedrooms typically suited to guests able to manage a flight of stairs - it also states on your booking confirmation that regretfully guests must be able to manage a flight of stairs. After checking your booking i unfortunately see that there are no notes relating to mobility issues, should you have kindly notified us prior to your holiday we may have allocated a more suitable room on a lower floor or advised another hotel within the Royal Hotels group which better suits your needs.
With regards the fire alarm - All guests are notified when fire alarm tests are due to happen via signage put up around the hotel. However we do apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Our public toilets are cleaned on a regular basis and signed off by our housekeeping department. Should guests kindly make us aware of issues relating to cleanliness - we would have ensured they were rectified immediately once made aware.
Overall we are very pleased that despite the slight issues mentioned in your review - you did have a great holiday with us and it's brilliant you found the team to be very helpful and friendly.

Boston hotel a very pleasant experience and high quality evening meal. Great value package and quality staff from door to door (bus stop actually). I would go again and add these Feedback info points
1- Very limited wifi connectivity can this be addressed please.
2 - Royal beer selection needs alternative beers please. Beer doesn't have any depth in taste (bland somewhat weak).
3 - Bathroom toilet jammed in against wall and not suitable for a comfortable seat angle (room 217)
4 - Non stop bingo needs a stimulating alternative.
All in all the best Blackpool package available at affordable prices.

In reference to WIFI - this is currently offered in our bar area however we do have plans to roll this out to guest bedrooms in the future. Connectivity and speeds can sometimes be affected when multiple guests are browsing at the same time.
The addition of Royal beers have received many great comments from our guests however we do understand that some of our guests may prefer other brands - so we still offer bottled beers and ciders as an alternative option.
Thank you for bringing matters to our attention re your bathroom door - we will pass this onto our maintenance team for investigation.
With regards to the bingo - we do try and provide a nightly programme suitable for all, we do monitor all guest feedback for improvement in the future so we thank you for your comments however bingo is very popular with our returning guests and in demand currently.

Good holiday but please organise the coaches better.
The coach was on time for pick up. Could have been better organised for dropping people off and picking up at the same time as some people had to stand until others were dropped off at the next hotel.
Our room at the Seabank was small but clean with towels changed daily, only complaint was the floor was on a slant so the bed tilted to one side and the walk to the bathroom ran downhill.
The food was lovely as were the servers, wish I could say the same for the bar manager as her customer service was non existent.
Coach pick up was a shambles as people said they were keeping seats for others so we had to ask the driver why there wasn’t enough seats , he said there were no other people to come on the bus after us and there should be 3 empty seats and told the passengers that, so we had to wait until people who were travelling together but sitting on 2 seats each moved seats.
Overall we had a good holiday at a great price so I’ve gave 4*

In regards to your coach journey - these are calculated by our drivers to ensure the best possible route and smooth onward journey. Unfortunately it would not be financially sensible for us to organise direct coaches with zero pickups and drop offs for every journey. We do apologise for any inconvenience caused.
We are pleased to hear you found your room to be very clean and comfortable - we do have premier and seaview rooms available for a small supplement which offer a little more luxury which may be something to consider for a future break with ourselves.
It's also great to learn you enjoyed the lovely food on offer as we really pride ourselves on great food and service here at the hotel.
In reference to the bar team member - we do apologise for this as it is certainly not the usual excellent standard we aim to provide, we will speak with the team to ensure our usual high standard is maintained.
In regards to the coach journey on your return journey home - we rely on the good nature of our passengers to allow couples and groups to be seated together, allocated seating is not offered i'm afraid.

When we arrived the lift was stuck in…
When we arrived the lift was stuck in the basement told one of the staff and had to wait 20 minutes before they did anything about it. I wasn't going up to 3rd floor with cases by the stairs. Ended up later that day and on the Tuesday I had to use stairs as lift never came. Due to doing that I ended at hospital on Wednesday with my breathing. Food was not for me. Never had a dinner at night. Hubby had chicken one night which was pink inside and the pork loin was tough. I was to tired to argue as no one listened on Monday first time there but definitely won't be back.

As you have not specified which hotel you stayed at it is very difficult to investigate. However it does sound like you may have stayed at the Royal Alexandra after speaking with hotel management.
In regards to the lift - management will always try to rectify any issues as soon as made aware - unfortunately at times we may have to rely on engineers visiting the site and due to weekends and very busy period there sometimes may be a slight delay - we do apologise for any inconvenience caused.
We are sorry you took ill during your time at the hotel - The Royal Hotels provide mobility level 1 bedrooms and we do kindly advise all guests be able to manage a flight of stairs.
In regards to the food, we are sorry this was not to your satisfaction - i have spoken with chef at the hotel who states the chicken was thoroughly cooked and received no other complaints from guests during the time in which you stayed - during the cooking process as the chicken was wrapped in bacon, it can sometimes take on the slight colouring of the bacon.
