Avoid this travel insurance company; they do not honour their commitment.
To be disappointed is the least I can say about this Travel Insurance Company.
We are a family of three, and we recently returned from Turkey. Our original return flight was cancelled just as we were about to board the plane. The second flight arranged by British Airways was over 27 hours later and was also cancelled. We had to find another airline for our return journey, which cost us a total of £1,575, along with additional expenses such as taxi fares. I provided all the necessary documents requested when making the claim, but Admiral only reimbursed us £25 per person. I called to express my disappointment, but they seemed indifferent to our situation.
Do not make our mistake by choosing Admiral.

Not worth the paper it is written on. Made us jump through hoops getting medical reports, three times and each time they ask for more information the 20 working days clock starts again. Then to be told I could not claim my holiday cancellation as my cousin ( who was going with us on the holiday ) passed away 3 weeks before the holiday because it was an existing medical problem and not covered. She was poorly and was having chemo that started before the insurance was taken, but we believed she would get better, of course we did ! Her partners insurance ( a different company) paid out within 3 weeks. It is not about the money necessarily, it was how I was treated. No compassion, no one after the initial call to talk to. You cannot ring them and speak to someone other than a call centre who cannot discuss. They text you an hour before they call you to say they going to ring and lord forbid you are on nights and do not get that text, because you then miss the opportunity to talk to someone. I am going to pay extra to get another travel insurance for later in the year because I will not use admiral again. Again, it not that I did not get the claim, it is about being unable to talk to anyone.

Had a trip away booked in June and had to cancel because my vehicle broke down, contacted admiral to see if I could get some compensation for losing £475 for booking fees only to be informed they only cover for illness, I have foolishly paid admiral for their travel insurance premiums for about 5-6 year’s thinking I was fully covered for all eventualities. More fool me I cancelled the policy there and then. Crap company.

Unfortunately when my Dad was diagnosed with cancer mid May I decided to cancel my holiday.
I contacted Admiral to explain the situation and to make a claim back on money paid, from then on it has been a nightmare.
I have sent every possible piece of paperwork that they requested even Dad's death certificate as he passed away a few weeks later on the 25th May.
My holiday was for 2 full paying adults plus 1 free child.
My daughter decided to go ahead with her holiday with my Grandaughter, they were not on my insurance just myself.
On the original booking it just states the passenger names not childs free place so Admiral said I could only have a 3rd of the original payment instead of half.
I have had to contact jet2 to ask if they could send an email showing we had a free child's place which they've done.
3 months this has been going on and still waiting for the remainder of the money to be paid back.
I took out a years insurance but never again

Started a claim in early March , it’s now 20th July and I’ve just had another text saying another 10 working days, this is one of many saying the same thing, I raised a complaint over 20 working days ago, he said it would be escalated, NOTHING, again today I wanted to lodge a complaint, he said your claim is going to be paid after trying every which way they could to get out of paying me, I told him I was recording the call so I have the evidence as I don’t trust them, there’s a catch, I’ve got to wait another 5-10 working days!!!!
I will never use this company again for any insurance.

WARNING I HAD AN EMERGENCY WITH NO HELP IN JAPAN ALMBULANCE.!

I wish to raise an urgent complaint.
Since June when I took your travel insurance policy out, the expensive premium one, I have been unable to register or gain access via the app. I have tried several times and although admiral sent me the one time passcode, the same error message keeps occurring. : 1015/400
This is not on,
I had a medical emergency in Tokyo yesterday and thought I was taking a stroke. A passerby called me an ambulance. And the whole time I could not make contact with you, blurry vision the lot, low blood pressure. I had to refuse a hospital because I couldn’t get you. I’d like this rectified immediately and get me access to my policy and app. What is the problem with it ?
Create a password. Read the Terms and Conditions. Done . Still no access and not feeling well , STILL.
I’ve emailed a complaint as well.

Despite having all my home and car insurance with Admiral, when I tried to claim for a broke iPhone on holiday, I was 1.5 hr on the phone, and that’s with them filling the claim, you can imagine how difficult doing it yourself would be. they make you jump through so many hoops that it’s obvious they want as many people not to bother pursuing it. Despite having all my house insurance with them and paying by DD which is a legal document, there were further delays because they had to verify me and my bank account via multiple
Sources. They deduct wear and tear for a 3 month old phone, and even though I got a discount purchasing the phone as I was a platinum Sky account holder, Admiral wanted to benefit from my discount and then apply wear and tear. They then wanted evidence the country I travelled to was covered, yet I told them where I was going and they gave me the appropriate insurance.

My advice NEVER TAKE OUT ADMIRAL HOLIDAY INSURANCE.

This was just a phone can you imagine the mental stress this would cause if it was a serious medical claim.

Disgraceful company that make out they are above the rest but they are exactly the same con artists as all insurance companies.

Poor communication, months to resolve a claim even after all evidence provided. And even wouldn’t pay part of claim even after all evidence provided that was requested shocking customer service.

Was lovely to start with but 3 days before couldn’t even change names for the holiday due to unforeseen circumstances just had loose the holiday

I made a claim for a cancelled holiday due to grade 3 complete rupture of knee ligament and being in a knee brace and on crutches for 3 mths before starting physio. High risk DVT on long haul flight. The claims process was long winded in terms of the number of documents I had to provide, however I had all MRI scan reports and images and a letter from the hospital consultant, therefore the claim was successful and was paid out in full (minus the £75 excess). Doctors certificate fee was also paid back due to successful claim. The claims review team were really clear and helpful on the phone when speaking but it was hard getting hold of the correct number at the start of the process, being passed from pillow to post. All worked out in the end.

I would give zero stars if that was possible. Admiral are very happy to take your money. I had a car accident in which I broke a few bones and was deemed unfit to travel by the hospital, which meant I could not go on holiday. admiral said the discharge letter was not sufficient and asked for a medical certificate to be completed by the gp at a further cost. They then refused to pay out on a referral that had been made regardless of the fact that there was no diagnosis and no appointment. It’s an absolute disgrace. The referral had nothing to do with the car accident or the broken bones that I incurred. Avoid at all costs.

Never use again.
Trying to claim £40.00 this had been going on weeks . The amount of information needed for a hospital claim is unbelievable no wonder people get annoyed.

I am pleased to give this company it's first review. Insurance companies often ask for a review after the purchasing experience, I often wonder how you can review them at that point ,when you have had no case to use them. Today I woke up in Hurghada with severe stomach pains and despite several attempts was unable to pee or poo. I only had data access on my phone so had to phone my son back home to phone admiral. The lady at admiral jumped into action, checked for the nearest hospital gave me reference numbers so that my arrival would be smooth then told me to phone an ambulance, I told her not necessary, I would get a taxi. Everything went so smoothly. And despite having an enlarged prostate that will need operated on when I get home, 6 hours later and I am feeling much better. I wish I remembered the lady's name so I could thank her personally.
