I have found it easy to follow the prompts and hints provided by Ancestry.com.au over several years. The company also shares discoveries from other users which may be useful. I have been able to trace my ancestors and build a comprehensive family tree. There were no surprises with my DNA result.
I have found the experience very satisfying.

I don't like the way you blatantly…
I don't like the way you blatantly advertise "Newspaper" products on almost every screen. I don't subscribe to the Newspaper or to the Fold products (they're too expensive) but I hate being forced into looking through their products when there is obviously a link in their data to my tree.

I've been a member of Ancestry.com for well over 10 years.
Researching gets better with every new discovery. I call myself the Queen of Convicts with over 25 of them so far, spread throughout both my Maternal and Paternal lines. Learning almost everything about my 3X Great Grandfather William Baker a convict from the Second Fleet 1790 has been very rewarding, and finding I had a new first cousin from my DNA results was amazing.

Knowing my family tree and all the history and information you can access is an amazing experience and mind blowing at times. I’ve been doing it for 20 years. It’s better now than ever with DNA matches to support and verify your ancestors. I have discovered photos and visited places where family lived. I’ve connected with distant relatives and we help each other with our research.

Love ancestry.com. I couldn't do my family history without it! So many records - & I especially like to see the actual source images when available rather than just transcribed records. More & more record images are becoming available. Census records help to put family members together. Wills list relatives. And parish registers are a gold mine! Ancestry.com has helped me to go back step by step for many generations. I'm hooked!

Ancestry connects you with many people, and you need to sift through the veracity of claims
Ancestry connects you with many people also interested in researching their family history.
Some people are very generous including the source of their research for you to check the veracity, and even sharing photos. However, there are also errors which are copied and perpetuated. This is frustrating.
In addition to paying a subscription every 6 months, there are regularly requests to pay additional money, to access records that are closed to you, unless you pay the extra money.
This is an expensive subscription, with extra levels only accessible by paying even more money.
The software to create your family tree is clunky, however recently some improvements have been made in this regard. More are needed.

every time you open ancestry something in the layout has changed NOT HAPPY JAN
You are actually making it harder to use and having to flip in between 2 tabs is down right annoying.
First off you need to put the layout of ancestry how it was when you originally bought the company
I moved away from other programmes that are similar to what you have changed it to. So now when my renewal comes up I will be considering carefully if I stay with ancestry.

Finding another history
The researchers are fantastic- they do go out of their way to be helpful. It's expensive and time-consuming, but that's just the way it is. Ancestry gave me information on a whole new branch of the family; I'm just off to Poland to explore the birthplaces of great grandparents I never knew I had!

the hints given are often no way related to the person and often they go straight to USA even if the search details are of another country.

Hi Nelson. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We completely understand how frustrating it is when Hints suggest records that have no relation to your ancestor—especially when they direct you to U.S. collections when you are researching family in another country.
Our automated Hinting algorithm scans millions of indexed records for name and date matches, but because the primary U.S. databases contain billions of entries, the system can sometimes surface broad American records if an exact local match isn't immediately found. We recognize how distracting this can be when you are focused on specific regional research.
To help train the algorithm and clean up your Hint queue, we recommend using the "Ignore" or "No" option on irrelevant Hints. Doing this immediately removes the record from your list and helps refine future suggestions for that individual. Additionally, you can adjust your global Search Preferences in your Account Settings to prioritize specific countries or exact locations, which helps focus your overall search results.
We take feedback about algorithm accuracy very seriously, and we are continuously working on updates to ensure our record-matching tools deliver more localized and relevant suggestions. Thank you for helping us highlight areas where we can improve.
Links to other family members leads to new discoveries.
I find some of the information shared with me very interesting. The census material, which makes me go further in my research to find the actual physical address on other web sites. Also the links to other family members is helpful.

Ancestry is my preferred website for family history. The amount of information and the way it's organised is very good. However, it's expensive there are some irritations.

I love when I pay for 3 or 6 months I can see things and search for family, I pay to retain my information. Its a great tool to use. But very expensive to keep on there all the time.

What I dislike is the use of AI
What I dislike is the use of AI, I am yet to receive a AI suggestion that was correct and I want to spend time researching not have AI find the wrong answers instantly. What I do like is the access to old Electoral Rolls where I can find the children of relatives that I can't get from Births Deaths & Marriages.

At the same time, we are delighted to hear that you are getting great value out of our Electoral Rolls! Historical directories and voter lists are incredible tools for tracking families between census years and uncovering those trickier branches that vital records don't always reveal.

Ancestry has been my go to for Genealogy
I have had good luck finding ancestors and the fact that new records are becoming available all the time makes it possible to verify and correct previously discovered details.

They charge like wounded bulls for a mediocre service.
They charge like wounded bulls and are constantly trying to inveigle you into forking out more for extras which should be part of the service. There are lots of gaps in what's available and many of their green leaf hints are way off. They are second rate but I have tried most of the alternatives which are no better or worse. The servers are constantly throwing up signals that require you to try again.
