After two years with a Roli Rise 2, keyboard player of 70 years experience.

I've had the Roli Rise 2 for a little over two years. I have seen online that people are complaining about long delivery times and poor support. I had some problems when I first got the unit and a couple times it did take a long time for them to respond. Other times they got right back to me. The problems were mostly my lack of technical expertise. I've never really used a software synth, although I've been playing keyboards for 70 years.
The instrument itself feels, like someone said, like a piece of slate. Zero plastic. It's heavy, solid, very cool styling and can be played on your lap or a keyboard rack. I had a time getting used to the keys, as I have been using a standard keyboard for so long but have gotten used to it. It should be approached as learning a new instrument, like a cello. It's a semi-fretless keyboard, really. I've even experimented with just playing on the ribbon controllers that are above and below the keys. I have a new respect for people that play fretless instruments!
The only down side I have found is that every time I sat down to play my Roland RD 700NX, which I love, I would end up playing the Roli instead. As a result, my piano skills went down the toilet due to lack of practice...but that's my fault. The Roli is endlessly challenging and fun and a completely different instrument than anything I've ever seen. One has to be patient and learn to be very precise to avoid pitch errors but it's well worth it. One can dial the pitch sensitiviy back if need be. I had though about returning it until I finally learned how to play it but will definitely keep it. I play lead parts on it with my right hand and play the Roland with my left hand. Easy.
As far as all the complaints I've seen on line, I tend to cut them a lot of slack. I believe they are a small company with limited resources. They are producing instruments of the future, so to speak, and I'm willing to be patient. I absolutely want them to suceed as a company and make more awesome instruments, thus I am willing to put up with some inconveniences. I think they will solve their problems in time. I haven't had any problems with the keyboard, other than an occasional glitch which is more likely due to my cheapo Windows computer and severe lack of syn knowledge.
Despite that, I have found the Equator syn that comes with the keyboard to be easy to use, even with my limited knowledge. It's designed to be newbie friendly but has a lot of potential for advanced users. I have also purchased one additional sound package and will get more as I can afford it. If you're on the fence, I say order one and try it for a few weeks. I don't know how long their return period is now but I would bet you will keep it.
Look up Jason Turk on YouTube. Check out his verion of an old Irish air called Marbhna Luimni, or Limerick's Lament. That's what really sold me. I've about finished learning the tune, having "borrowed" Jason's arrangement. He has a lot of Roli videos plus there's lots of others out there. I will post one once I can get through it without mistakes.
So cut Roli some slack with their issues, be patient and try this awesome machine. I'm cheering for this company like it's my local football team!

10/10 product, would be 5 star review for the Seaboard. 4 stars overall because I've been waiting for a while for a sustain pedal, I have a date but it's still a little while away. I hope it's worth the wait!

Seaboard Rise 2 Is Amazing

I've been using my Seaboard Rise for quite a while and have to say that it is a musician's creative tool! All the modes of expressiveness with MPE software are great! Best of all, this thing is built like a tank! The Equator 2 sounds are top notch, but I've got to say - as a long time Omnisphere user - with Omnisphere going MPE, Wow! I will never part with my Seaboard. I also need to add that when I couldn't get things working exactly as I wanted, Roli support was very responsive and helped me figure things out - quickly! Thank you, Roli!

Love it love it love it.

Love it love it love it.

Great for someone like Mme who has never learned a instrument and in my 50s. Always wanted to play piano and Roli let's me feel like I'm playing favorite pieces whilst learning to play them!

Airwave & Seaboard rise 2

Got the Seaboard rise 2 which was a 1 minute setup and the software is really good out of the box. Tbh I had read so much about it and the manual before I got it I was surprised at the simplicity. Then came the Airwave! Awesome kit. Was one of the first - didn't mind the wait as it was a lovely surprise when it did arrive and they kept me up to date. Took about 10 minutes to set up (and Reddit helped trouble shoot my mistake so would have been a 1 minute job if I spent the time reading the online instructions.

Customer service utterly lacking in taking any responsibility

Totally unacceptable customer service. I ordered a Seaboard 2 in early Dec25 and was informed that it would be delivered in 3-5 days (so in plenty of time for Xmas). Nothing. Received a reply to my support ticket on Dec 24th where the agent claimed that “It looks like UPS collected the package from our warehouse on December 16th but their systems aren't showing receipt of the package”. I then received a second message on Dec29th saying that Roli planned to send a refurbished Seaboard to me (not what I want) and asking me to confirm my address. I’ve sent 3 emails to support since then to ask for an update, but one month later I still have heard nothing furthermore. I’m completely lost as to whether the order is even in Roli’s system anymore, and have pretty much given up hope that I will ever hear from them again. Incidentally, the Roli website still says “Shipping Soon” (Shipper created a label, UPS has not received the package yet) but the “Estimated delivery date is not available” (last week it still said it was being delivered by Dec12th). No idea what the product is like, but I’ve never had an experience this bad with any company. If anyone at Roli is monitoring this, can somebody PLEASE contact me (ticket 233936) before I instruct my credit card company to pursue a refund.

**UPDATE 3rd FEB*** Despite you guys immediately replying to my initial review with a message saying "Please be assured that we have highlighted this as a matter of urgency and you should receive a response soon", I still haven't heard a word from you - and fear I never will. I'm in complete limbo, like a lot of other customers judging from the reviews. I have spoken to my credit card company and they have advised that I instruct them to pursue an immediate refund. It's extremely disappointing that it's come to this, but if nobody has replied to my ticket (#233936) by this Friday 6th February, I will instruct my Credit Card company to pursue action to receive a refund.

*UPDATE 12TH FEB* Roli FINALLY got back to me with following my update above, However, I reply and then everything goes dead again (just like it did in December when they suggested a refurbished unit - and then...NOTHING). How can i possibly say yes to their option of either creating a new order or giving me a refund (rather than seeking the latter through my credit card company) when I know it's going to be at least another month before they do anything (and then only after I post something here)....which would take me outside my credit card guarantee. Basically, based on my experience with them over past 3 months, the likelihood is that if I gave them the go-ahead to create a new order, I'd never hear from them again (as customer service is so incompetent)...and with no order reference number to refer to, you can probably see my problem. Nobody takes responsibility for following up on any solution suggested. Lost in the deep, dark cold vacuum of space. Without doubt - the worst experience I've ever had with a company. And how on earth were Seaboard 2s available for next day delivery on Amazon UK yesterday!?! (appears now all gone)...when they still owe so many of us products that we ordered months ago. What an utter joke.

Roli has been a mixed bag of incredible and disappointment

Let me start with the positive. Two years ago, for Black Friday 2023, I ordered a Seaboard Rise 2 after years of sitting on a wishlist and it has been a dream fretless keyboard for me; It has been worth every penny I paid for it. I play many instruments and coming from guitar and bass, it feels right at home to me for playing very expressive leads, and things like string and horn sections on stage in a cover band where we can't easily bring those with us on stage. The Seaboard experience has been incredible for me.

The airwave experience has not. Last year, in 2025 I caved and ordered the Airwave after a year or so of minimal reviews (besides the normal gear-influencers who probably don't actually use it). Roli pushed the marketing hard this year and then had supply problems, multiple times. I received an email in late December after it was marked ready to ship that supply problems would delay shipping until the week of the 12th of January; disappointing but understandable. That week came and went and a full week later on the 20th, I got an email from the CEO that they had another shipping problem that would delay it until mid-Feb. In the last two days, I've gotten two additional emails from the other co-founder Cori Harrower asking for me leave a positive review based on prior experiences.

Cori, here's my honest review -- you all crushed the Seaboard Rise 2 in 2023 for me, but asking me to leave a positive review and help do your damage control when the support team still hasn't even responded to either of the 2 customer service tickets just asking for an update on the Airwave is just asking for a mediocre review this time around.

I totally understand when another part of the pipeline/chain you rely on failed, but they aren't selling the product - you are and you sold it for a premium. The least you can do is properly communicate with your customer base and set expectations so that customers aren't left guessing when their product is going to show up.

Deliver the Airwave I paid for and I'll leave you another review on Airwave and Seaboard together purely as product experiences without the consequences of this delivery dilemma.

Disastrous customer service

I've been writing to customer service for 20 days because I want to exchange the two M pianos I received for a larger one (i.e., spend more money). NO ONE has responded to me. Finally, you say to make the return without making the exchange, and now it turns out that I'm past the deadline according to the platform (which isn't true, because the 30 days haven't passed, and besides, I'm not worried, because they said that the processes were separated while they couldn't respond to messages due to the Christmas overload).
No one is answering me and I have no options.
The product is wonderful, but the customer service team is overloaded and can't keep up. It's better to buy it from a distributor.
If anyone from ROLI is reading this, please contact me urgently.

Faulty product, zero customer service response

I have ordered their Piano when it was first announced in January 2025. The shipment was then postponed multiple times but finally in December 2025 I receive the piano. Unfortunately it was not useable as some keys had an irritating squeaky sound that rendered the entire piano unusable. Since then I have written countless support tickets without reply. I also returned the Piano and still have not gotten any response. If this matter is not resolved within the next couple of days I will hand it to a lawyer. Never again will I sign-up for some pre-order of an untested product.

ROLI Game Changer and No Brainer. BUY ONE!!

I have purchased many ROLI products from either Well known retailers or directly from Roli. Never ONCE have i had an issue. People remember Roli does not control world wide shipping during holiday season.... Stop knocking an awesome product for something they have no control over.. Instead how about screaming about how awesome and innovative they have been in regards to music. 10 in my book. They have really brought expression and a whole new way of looking at music.

This had been going on for along time now!!! Its ridiculous and will be putting other people off buying it!

Roli have been in touch and gave me an update on the issues and estimated delivery by the end of February!

Let's wait and see and watch for further updates then.

ROLI Learn is like Guitar Hero

Well designed products.

I currently have the Lumi Keys and love being able to easily pack them up and travel with. I received the Airwave about a month ago. I bought the Airwave hoping it would help improve my posture in the ROLI Learn App. I am disappointed in the Airwave so far as the Learn App doesn’t teach how or where to correct posture. Just get a score.

Maybe there will be a future update that has an AI tutor that analyzes and corrects posture issues.

It would also be nice to see the Springboard game have different difficulties. I love the game but I find the difficulty is very high right from the start for someone new to piano.

Another nice feature would be the ability to uncheck completed lessons as I restarted my learning right back to the beginning once I got the Airwave.

Never got my keyboard

My experience with ROLI has been completely unacceptable. I can't even tell you about the quality of their product because I never received it. It has now been almost three months since my initial order, and I was told two days ago I'd be waiting another two months. Their customer service response to this was to offer store credit which fails to pay for literally any product they offer.

Furthermore they had the audacity to send me the case for the piano I ordered within two weeks. I've been staring at that empty case ever since and have no idea if that will be refunded either. This is because of the abysmal customer service response times from the company. Waiting a week or more for a basic email should be seen as massive failure on their part.

ROLI, get your act together and don't make promises you can't keep, and properly staff your customer service departments to actually communicate with your customers. I haven't been this disappointed with a purchase experience in some time.

On 02/12/2025 I placed an order for a bundle including an airwave, a key board and a subscription. Another order folloed later on 24/12/2025 for an extra keyboard.ption. Order

On 02/12/2025 I placed an order (SG-16639) for a bundle which included an airwave, a roli piano m keyboard and a subscription for 1 year for the learning app. At that time I was promised that the items would be shipped in time for Christmas. Later on, on 24/12/2025 I placed another order (SG-17192) for an extra keyboard. For the first order I paid £494.00 and an extra £138.00 for the second order, so in total I have paid Roli £632.00. Unitl now the only item I received on 07/01/2026 was the airwave which costs £299.00, so this means Roli is holdind £333.00 of my money. They wrote me an email on 22/01/2026 stating that, according to their records another order (they did not specify the contents) was delivered on 11/12/2025, but I can say with all certainty that their records about a delivery on on 11/12/2025 are wrong, as I did not receive any such delivery. I have sent them countless tickets asking about the missing items, and their reply is always an automated email where they usually state the following: "it looks like you have been waiting for a response and we haven't reached you yet.. We are sorry for the delay, but we are working through a large backlog of support tickets and will get gack to every request in the order that they were submitted. Rest assured we haven't forgotten"
If you ask for clarification on any given ticket, we have to sent them a new ticket, and so what we get is an automated reply along the above lines, but nothing gets ever sorted.
I am losing my patience with this company, and I think they are not getting a grip, and this is certainly not a way to run any business. Their customer ser vice is really appaling. I am not willing to wait forever for the 2 missing keyboards, and intend to begin proceeding to recover my money, if I do not receive them by the end of February 2026. I think this is ample time for them to sort this out.
