Simple error costs extra £50+
Car insurance pruchased through Go.Compare. New 26 Reg car but I had inadvertently input March 2023 as the purchase date. I was collecting the car on 23rd March 2026! Initial documents issued then informed that there would be an additional £50+ charge to change the date of purchase. Even although I hadn't actually taken ownership of the car. Extremely unhappy. No choice but to pay as I was collecting the car within the hour. Not a happy bunny at all. No compromise or understanding for a genuine input error. Sales person did handle my extreme annoyance very well.

We're sorry you found yourself in a stressful situation on collection day. However, we'd like to clarify that all policy details, including the vehicle purchase date, are entered by the customer during the quote and purchase process.
Having reviewed your call, we're satisfied that our agent handled the matter efficiently and courteously throughout. During the call, there was some confusion regarding your No Claims Bonus, which had initially increased the premium further. Once this was resolved, the additional premium for the change of purchase date and year of manufacture was £58.90. Both are rating factors used by the insurer and as a general rule, insurers tend to offer a greater discount the longer a vehicle has been owned.

Daylight Robbery
I can’t believe that this company gets away with charging £90.00 for changing the registration on a policy. £90.00 for a 3 minute telephone call to gather the details and then change 7digits (to put my private registration number on the policy) and email the revised policy. In my reckoning that works out at £18.00 a minute (£1080.00) per hour DAYLIGHT ROBBERY!!! I would never have considered Right Sure as my insurance provider if I had been fully aware of their astronomical and totally disproportionately high cost for a small policy change. Once my policy expires I will never ever consider or recommend Right Sure as an insurance provider can’t wait to leave this company RICHARD TURPIN robbing so and so’s
So I had a response from Right Sure who stated

I asked for a receipt but did not receive one. The documents I received do not even state the full price I paid.

I was promised call backs on two…
I was promised call backs on two different days but it did not happen. This caused my renewal to increase and cost me more. If they had called me back then the extra cost would have been avoided.
It is not helpful that their response refers to other calls. However, they do not actually comment on the two call backs that were promised, which meant I had to pay extra unnecessary costs on my insurance renewal.

Having reviewed your journey, your first contact with us regarding your renewal was on 23rd March. You advised that you were unhappy with the renewal premium, and our agent confirmed that the price quoted was the best we could offer, suggesting it may be worth exploring alternative quotes elsewhere. A callback was arranged and carried out the following day.
During that call, our agent confirmed that we were unable to offer any reduction or discount. You asked that you would like to be contacted again if we were able to improve on the price, which on separate occasions, was confirmed not possible. We appreciate that there may have been some confusion towards the end of the call, and if so, we sincerely apologise for any misunderstanding this may have caused. You also confirmed during the call that you were aware the policy had expired and that you had received our texts confirming this.
To clarify, we had sent your renewal documents clearly stating your renewal date and advising that we do not auto-renew. In addition, we had sent several texts, called, and left messages earlier in the month to remind you that your renewal was approaching. We therefore did all we could to ensure you had ample notice to renew in good time.
We understand that you have since spoken with our Head of Sales, who has discussed this matter and we believe this matter to be closed.

I was really pleased that I didn't have to play the game of calling to get the best price. My renewal quote was cheaper than last year and very reasonable.
The guy who I spoke with was very polite, quick serving. Very good.
