Me and my partner came in the store - Olivia
Me and my partner came in the store, really confused and unsure about what type of pram to go for our first baby. However, as soon as we entered, Olivia was really warm and welcoming. She understood the confusion and asked us questions to narrow down what we are looking for. She pulled out a number of different choices of prams and let us trial them around the store and as we were doing this, she continuously asked us how we feel about each one, helping us narrow down to the one we felt the most comfortable with. The whole process of searching, narrowing down and purchasing the pram set was smooth and made us feel confident in choosing the right one. Thank you to Olivia for helping us. We picked the silver cross for ease, really excited to start using it when baby is here!

We’ve just bought our first pram set
We’ve just bought our first pram set! We are going to be first time parents so we had no idea about anything. Thankfully we had Olivia who took care of us. She was amazing and put us at ease straight from the off. She took her time and showed us all the prams and helped us through the whole process. She was patient and had a lot of knowledge and was able to answer all the questions we had. I would highly recommend Newbie and Me. Ameer and the team were brilliant!

Really disappointing experience
Unfortunately, I’ve had a really disappointing experience with Newbie & Me.
I ordered a Silver Cross pram from them and paid in full by credit card. At the time of ordering, I was given an expected delivery date of around 10 August, which was obviously very important to me as my baby is due in September.
Within around 24 hours of placing the order, I was then told that the expected delivery date had changed to 5 October – after my baby is due. Had I been given this date when ordering, I simply wouldn’t have placed the order.
When I questioned this, I was told that there was a nationwide shortage and, when I explained that Silver Cross themselves appeared to have the pram available, Newbie & Me suggested that Silver Cross were essentially giving misleading information about their stock availability.
I therefore cancelled my order almost immediately and ordered the exact same pram directly from Silver Cross. Despite what I had been told, Silver Cross had the pram in stock and delivered it to me without issue.
Meanwhile, I was still left chasing Newbie & Me for the refund of the money I had paid in full for an order I had cancelled within around 24 hours.
I always make a conscious effort to support independent retailers wherever possible rather than automatically buying directly from large retailers or manufacturers, but unfortunately experiences like this make that very difficult. In this instance, ordering directly from the manufacturer was considerably easier and gave me far more confidence, which is disappointing as I would much rather support an independent business.
What should have been such an exciting purchase became unnecessarily stressful, particularly when heavily pregnant and so close to my due date.
Based on my experience, I unfortunately wouldn’t order from Newbie & Me again. I really wanted to support an independent retailer, but this experience has instead pushed me towards purchasing directly from manufacturers or larger retailers in future.

We would like to clarify that the delivery date provided at the time of ordering was an estimated date based on the information available to us from the supplier. Unfortunately, availability and delivery dates can change, particularly when there are supply constraints affecting a particular product. As soon as we were made aware of the revised expected delivery date, this was communicated to you.
We completely understand that the revised timeframe was not suitable for you given your baby’s due date, and you were therefore able to cancel your order. We’re pleased that you were able to source the pram elsewhere in time.
With regards to the refund, we appreciate that you wanted this processed promptly. As your order was cancelled, the refund was processed through the original payment method in accordance with our procedures.
We’re disappointed that this experience has affected your view of our independent business. We always aim to provide customers with accurate information based on the stock and delivery information available to us at the time, although unfortunately supplier availability is not something we can always control.
We wish you and your family all the very best for the arrival of your little one.
Fantastic Experiences
We’ve had such a lovely time at Newbie and Me in Crewe! From the moment we walked in, we felt so welcome, and it’s clear how much thought goes into every session. Meg is fantastic — warm, patient, and full of brilliant advice, and she has a real gift for putting nervous new parents at ease.
We’ve made a couple of purchases and the team could not help enough!
