BAS Agent Registration Skill Set
Excellent on line course.
Can work at your own pace and if you have any questions the staff get back to you very fast. Also assignments are marked quickly and there is a lot of fantastic support.
Some of the course is out of date but I have been advised that they are updating it now.
Highly recommend!

The content of the course was comprehensive covering all topics related to business. The course assignments challenged me to think critically and creatively. I would highly recommend this course to anyone thinking of starting their own business.

Great online services!
Was the perfect course to do from home while working full time, the online services were easy to use. I would recommend these courses for anyone looking to complete a course fully online. The assessments were easy to follow however the final assessments were a big jump up in difficulty and time from the rest.

Very Disappointing
Unfortunately, I did not have a very good experience with Monarch Institute. This is just my experience, and not necessarily reflective of the experiences of other students. Onboarding was easy and quick, and all the staff that I have had communication with have been professional. I do not, however, agree with a number of the Institutes policies and these are the reason I requested withdrawal from the Diploma of Accounting after only 1 unit.
1. I paid in full for the course, but was only provided access to 3 units. I had to complete these prior to being given access to another batch. I understand that this appears to be the norm in online education, and the excess given is that a unit ay require updating, however this does not make it right. I believe that if I have paid in full for a course, I should receive all resources that I have paid for.
2. When I wanted to withdraw from the course, I asked for a 50% refund. I believed that this was reasonable as I had paid in full, but had only received resources for 37.5% of the course. I was denied any refund at all, but was advised that they would allow me access to the online resources for a 4 week period. Unfortunately, this is useless, as the online resources are not downloadable except for the some answers to the texbook questions. When I argued this, they did offer to send me hard copies of texts, which was something. However, I still believe that not providing a refund was just plain thievery.
3. One of Monarch Institute's policies is that you get two goes to complete an assessment "Competently" and then they reserve the right to make you redo the entire unit from start to finish, and pay for it again. I believe this is a blatant
4. The "grading" of assessments. Grading is only "Competent" or "Not Competent", again I understand that this is the norm for most VET courses now, and I believe that it is a reasonable method of assessment if used fairly. In my first assessment I received less than 5% as "Not Competent" however was marked as "Not Competent" for the entire unit. There did not appear to be any consideration given for correct workings, just for correct end answers.
5. The text and example quizzes did not prepare me for the actual assessment.
Unfortunately, I would not recommended Monarch Institute to any future students.

Hi there, we're very sorry to hear that you didn't have an entirely positive experience with us. We strive to provide the best possible online education experience to our students and we appreciate any feedback that will help us improve this experience for future students.
We provide access to a limited amount of units at a time to ensure that students are working through the course in the way it was designed to be completed, and prevents students from getting overwhelmed. We are continuously improving our resources, and provide students get access to the applicable version when they reach a unit. As you have mentioned, we have provided the same resources in an alternate format (via hardcopy textbooks) following your decision to withdraw.
As an RTO, we are required to follow government legislation around assessments. If we cannot show that a student has proved competency in even one requirement/criteria from the national register of VET, we are required to mark the assessment 'Not satisfactory'. This is why we provide more than 1 attempt for each assessment, and provide trainer support via email, phone, and 1 on 1 video calls, as well as drop in virtual classrooms to support students in getting a competent grade. It doesn't appear you accessed trainer support during your enrolment; if you decide to resume the course in future, please don't hesitate to reach out to arrange assistance.
The Student Information Handbook and refund policy are accepted with the application form prior to enrolment, however we consider all refunds and requests on a case by case basis. If you have any further feedback, we encourage you to get in touch, as feedback like this does help us improve our courses for all future students. Best of luck with all your future endeavours.
