A smooth pathway into logistics
I recently completed the Diploma of Logistics through Monarch Institute and was very impressed with the experience. I would like to share some honest feedback regarding the course structure and my learning experience.
I’ve found the role-play video assignments quite frustrating. They often require the involvement of others, but my boyfriend is busy and not always available to help. I don’t feel that I’ve gained much from these tasks, and I’ve had to record multiple videos—far too many, in my opinion. Aren’t there more important and meaningful things to learn than just recording videos?
Additionally, the Zoom sessions are always fully booked, which makes it difficult to get support from a teacher when needed. I found it quite hard to contact a teacher directly.
In order to receive a “satisfactory” result, I understand I needed to pass all assignments, which I aimed for However, a bit strict . the true or false quizzes were also frustrating and didn’t provide much practical learning value.
Also, although I don’t use Xero at my workplace, I had to read and understand a textbook with over 1,000 pages. Unfortunately, I found the textbook too broad and not helpful for my specific work. I was hoping to learn more practical, job-relevant skills that I could apply directly to my current role.

We understand that role play assessments and competency based requirements can feel demanding, particularly when they require recording or involvement from others. These tasks are designed to assess practical workplace skills in line with nationally recognised unit requirements, but we appreciate that they may not suit every learner’s preference or work context.
We’re also sorry to hear you found it difficult to access Zoom sessions when needed. We do offer support via booked sessions and email, and we continually review availability to ensure students can access help in a timely way.
Our courses are designed to provide broad industry aligned knowledge, which can sometimes feel more comprehensive than what is required in a specific role. Your feedback around practical application and structure is valuable and will be shared with our academic team.

One of the things I love most about…
One of the things I love most about this course is that I can set the pace myself. The support team has been incredibly responsive and efficient, especially a team member named Domenica. Her prompt and effective replies have been immensely helpful, and I'm truly grateful for her support.
It would be even better if the course materials-like data and other resources-were updated more frequently. That would significantly enhance student's learning efficiency.

Teachers were very good fast response when needing help. I did find some of the questions hard to understand but with the teachers support and the facebook page from others studying was a great help.

Read the bad reviews first
I do not recommend the Advanced Diploma of Paraplanning. The course suffered from numerous issues, including spelling mistakes in assessments, impractical role-play video requirements in almost all assessments along with file upload problems due to the ridiculous sizes of the files. Some content is inaccurtate, outdated, didn't deliver training in xplan or modelling even though I was verbally told they do. Reading materials and assessments were extremely lengthy, I'm talking like 150+++ pages of information per PDF (that's all you've got to learn from really), assessments are confusing, and support lacking. Some answers in my assessments were marked as incorrect when they weren't... but I let it slide. As a now qualified paraplanner, I learned little from this expensive course. It's surprising that Monarch aren't under some sort of quality radar. Please also be aware of fake positive reviews (yes it is unfortunately 'a thing'...).

Felt Like Paying for PDFs, Not a Real Course
My experience with Monarch Institute was very disappointing. While they promote their courses as flexible and self-paced, in reality, they are entirely self-taught. You’re given large reading documents and assessments to complete on your own, with no structured learning, interactive content, or proactive trainer engagement.
Trainers are only available if you reach out, but there’s no built-in support or scheduled teaching. The assessments were poorly constructed, with spelling and grammatical errors, unclear instructions, and little alignment with the reading content.
I also received an assessment document dated May 2022, with no evidence that it had been reviewed or updated to reflect current training standards — a serious concern for any nationally recognised qualification. You would expect a Payroll course to reflect current minimum wage rates or legislative changes. Instead, it still referenced COVID-19 as a relevant HR issue, despite the pandemic peaking in 2020 — this shows a clear lack of course maintenance.
The refund policy was not made clear before enrolment. It was only accessible via a general link in a declaration document, and when I requested a refund early on (without submitting any assessments), it was denied. This felt misleading and unfair — potentially breaching ASQA standards and consumer law.
After reading other reviews, it's clear that others have faced similar problems — including lack of support, poor communication, and refund transparency. For the cost, I expected a professional, up-to-date, and properly supported training experience. Sadly, Monarch Institute did not deliver.

As a self-paced education provider, our course design is intentionally flexible to support students with varying schedules and commitments. As you mention, we provide students with access to one-to-one training sessions with our trainers, who can also be contacted via email for timely learning support. We find that our students appreciate being able to complete their course at their own pace and access this support when they need, rather than being locked into fixed class times.
We regularly review and update our courses and can confidently confirm that the material you refer remains fully compliant with the current nationally endorsed unit requirements, as published on the national training register. All content required to successfully complete the assessments is included in the course material, which undergoes regular review and updates by our qualified academic team.
We also want to reiterate that our Student Information Handbook, which includes the refund policy, is publicly available on our website at all times and is additionally linked within the Privacy Statement and Student Declaration that all students are required to read and acknowledge prior to enrolment. These measures ensure that students are fully informed prior to committing to a course.
While we are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations, we believe we have acted transparently and in line with our stated policies and standards. As you know, our offer to transfer you into a different course that may better suit your needs remains open, should you wish to pursue it.

100% recommend Monarch with a self paced course
I was unsure if the self paced program would work for me, as I was worried the distance from a physical classroom would mean lack of support from trainers. But Monarch institute trainers were as helpful as a if we were in a classroom. Quick to reply, supportive when giving feedback and just flexible in general. I did the cert IV in accounting and bookkeeping in 2 years while working and am now on my first job in the industry.

Good feedback.......
Great, friendly communication from all contacts.
Quick responses to queries and assignment submissions.
Clear guidelines/reason for unsuccessful assignment questions and where to go back to redo.
Clear instructions & videos to advise what is required to complete each chapter and module
Not so good.......
A few simple errors on the coursework information throughout the course, such as dates, descriptions maybe from updating content from previous versions.
Nothing that a bit of proof reading couldn't fix.
As much as it was good to have to look back for previous year's information & data, it would be good to work in the latest financial year rather than 2018 or 2021.
Overall, I enjoyed this course, thank you.

Awesome support
After signing up with another company who went "Belly-up" Monarch was a breath of fresh air. While Monarch are not the cheapest on the market the course is clear and concise, well structured and easy to follow.
Support from the staff was beyond compare, all emails were answered within one business day and no questions was too silly to ask. On the hole assignments were marked within 2-3 days (I think the fastest was 40 minutes)
Would definitely recommend Monarch.

My experience with Monarch Institute has been nothing short of excellent. Studying part-time while working full-time was challenging, but Monarch Institute's support made it manageable. They were consistently responsive to my emails, promptly addressing any queries I had. When personal matters required extensions for module completions, they accommodated my requests without hesitation.
The study material provided was comprehensive, with plenty of practical examples, particularly beneficial for complex calculations.
