Course content unfortunately is out of date often refers to super guarantee of 9.5% which should be 12%. Some obscure instructions at times because the content is so old and the Xero package will not accept dates. The marker requires 100% accuracy, or you will have to resubmit. Expect this. The office staff are available to verify if you are on track and are exceptionally helpful. Oh, and you will be uploading video roleplays at most assessments.

We’re really sorry to hear parts of the course felt outdated and frustrating, particularly around superannuation rates and system constraints in Xero. That’s understandably confusing when legislation changes. We’re currently reviewing and updating content to ensure examples and references reflect the most current information, so we appreciate you calling this out.
You’re right that assessments require all criteria to be met to be marked competent. While that can feel strict, our trainers and support team are there to help students get across the line, and we’re glad you found the office staff helpful.

I found it very frustrating how out of date the information was, from assessments requiring answers from ATO tax tables however it did not state you needed the table from 21/22 and therefore answer provided (based on current tax table) was incorrect! Superannuation was still based on 9% and there were many other issues relating to out-of-date information which, for the cost of doing my course was very disappointing.
I did find that when I contacted the Support desk they were quite prompt in their response.

Thanks for your patience in hearing back from us, and thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear how frustrating this was during your course.
You’re right to call out the tax tables and superannuation rates. In some units, the assessments are designed to align with the version of the textbook currently in use, which means some tasks intentionally reference older ATO tables or rates (such as the 2021/22 tables), even though more recent versions are available. While the processes and methods being taught remain the same, we understand this can create disappointment when this isn’t clearly explained upfront.
These resources are scheduled to be updated as part of the next unit review cycle, and we appreciate you raising this as it helps us improve both our materials and how we communicate these expectations in assessments.
We’re also glad to hear the Support Desk team responded promptly when you reached out. Thanks again for your feedback, and congratulations on succesfully completing your study!

Outdated course material & low support.
I chose Monarch due to the promised support structure for self paced learning. There was the promise of group sessions, but these were not like normal learning sessions. In earlier units there was opportunity to attend online tutorial type sessions that were helpful taking you through the course material, but these stopped after the third unit. Whilst the trainers that I did speak with were fantastic, the Monarch motto is 'we can't tell you you're right or wrong until you submit the assessment and get it wrong, then we can help.' This seems archaic and not conducive to a positive learning experience. It therefore felt like a lonely and unsupported experience.
The course material is out of date (despite being the new course number) with assessments containing 2020-2021 data and references (superannuation/legislation). Students are marked incorrectly for providing relevant/current information from required web-searches because it doesn't match the 'correct' answer the assessors have on their list. This is both with numerical and legislative responses.
Unfortunately I will not be recommending Monarch to anyone. Again, staff and trainers are lovely, but lack of support structure/ability to support students and outdated material warrant this review.

Last year we trialled some live group-learning sessions for a few units, and while those were never part of the ongoing course design, we can understand how it may have felt like something that would continue throughout your studies. The recordings are still available, but live sessions aren’t currently offered.
We’re also working through updates to assessments and examples to make sure all data and references reflect the latest information. Your feedback helps us prioritise where those updates are most needed, and we appreciate you raising it.
We can see you reached out to the training team a number of times, and we’re glad you were able to access support along the way. That said, we’re sorry it still felt like a lonely experience at times.
