We feel it's important to clarify the role we play at the development, as this differs from a traditional energy supplier. We, Data Energy, have been appointed, via the managing agents, to provide metering and billing services only.
The properties are connected to a communal energy system that generates and/or distributes the utility we have been appointed to bill on behalf of the supplier (typically the building's owner/freeholder) - supplier information can be found of the top right hand side of the invoices we issue.
To clarify, we do not own or operate the network, and we are not an energy supplier. Our role is to administer billing based on the structure, and processes agreed upon with our client.
Please note we do not make changes to tariffs independently and that we issue communications to customers to ensure they are kept informed whenever a tariff expires, is extended, or changes.
In relation to VAT invoices, the invoices we issue are to recover costs on behalf of our client and, unless instructed otherwise by them, are not issued as VAT invoices. As outlined in our FAQs, if you require a VAT invoice, we recommend contacting your building's managing agent directly, as they are responsible for confirming whether VAT invoices can be issued.

30 minute wait but excellent experience once Taya was on the case
Although it took an absolute age (30 minutes ) to get through via the telephone number . When my call was finally answered , Taya immediately apologised for the delay after i highlighted the long wait with music on hold. She then efficiently helped me with my query and resolved the access issue that i had quickly. She was polite , cheerfiul and personable . This would have been a 5 star rating if the wait time at the beginning was shorter !

Charging for mandatory admin charges on…
Charging for mandatory admin charges on top of standing charge and then their support replies after 2 weeks. They blamed me for not paying bills when their direct debit system didn't work. No clarity on charges whatsoever, really expressive, even if you ask they don't really explain how they get the energy price so high.
