Used them once. They took my money, then took more money. I had to call bank to stop them taking even more money. No money returned to me. Money only flows one way... from your bank to their bank. Carger only charged 9 miles in 1 hour. Pointless.

Utterly woeful website, app and staff. Incompetence if off the charts and can’t process basic requests like cancelling cards, sending out new ones and progressing complaints. Should be shut down. Horrendous.

Not idea when they are going to charge you sporadic and a real mess. Slow to answer most of the charge points are broken or unavailable for weeks on end. Puts people off a ev car

Every other review says all you need to know. This service is appalling. Chargers; app; RFID card; helpline are all shockingly bad. Avoid ChargePlace Scotland for the sake of your mental wellbeing.

Disgraceful company you will never be able to be confident of arriving at a charger and being able to charge your EV. Been to 3 separate locations today and all faulty with broken touch screens and card readers. Clearly nobody is maintaining their network. Absolute amateur's compared to Gridserve. Scottish Government should be ashamed of their EV provision compared to England.
Don't let this shambles of a company put you off buying an EV.... Gridserve, BP Pulse etc always provide a fantastic service.

The worst of the worst. I am on benefits and use a mobility car. After putting £2 worth of charge in I'm still waiting for £70 back that's on hold. Had to cancel my kids day out as have no money. Use a different company.

An absolute racket.

They take 7 working days to refund the holding fees.

They also take the holding fee before telling you the charge point isn’t working.

I currently am owed 480 in holding fees without having a single bit of juice

Beyond awful. Have had my ev for under 6 months and have NEVER had a positive, straight forward experience while using the facilities. Very expensive, not enough chargers near my place of residence (only 7 in a 2.5 mile radius and only 1 fast charger) and half of those don’t work! Neither The machine nor the app warns you that is out of service but will still block the £35 every time you attempt to charge, they even charged me £5 for a phantom charge in an out of service pod! Absolute joke of a company… And the advise on the phone? ‘Go find another one’…

I said £12 for the card bonuses in my trio tonscotland 2 months prior to departure. Still not fot this non 12th Feb and go tomorrow. When contacted you grt fobbed off with just call us we are inundated with emails blah blah. Absolute disgrace ripping people off for £12 and refuse to refund when asked you all should be ashamed

Tried very hard at Broxden P&R to charge. 2 stations out of order (red lights). 2 more stations would not accept any of my credit cards. Had to wait for the one working station that would accept my credit card to become free. Useless service.

I mean, where do you start? The service is so absolutely diabolical it makes me want to torch my car and return to petrol.

Charging place scotland app is terrible couldn't get registered so did the online webpay they took £35 and the charger wouldn't work, phoned the 24/7 customer support number to sit on hold for 18mins to be told the charger wasn't working now. Waiting on my refund customer service is none existing with this company. Stay clear of there chargers

The app never works and when you need to phone ti end a session almost everytime they never answer the phone. Been waiting to get onto phone call for 30 minutes and still nothing whilst being charged a fortune every minute.

When this company started up they were brilliant, now I would give them a zero rating!! Why does the Scottish government continue with a contract with these guys!! The app never works; every charging station you go to doesn’t work!! What’s the point, I charge at my house but when I do need to charge a car away from home their network is shocking!!! And they over charge as well! I used them a few months ago and I was charged nearly £50 for less than an hour!! Won’t use them again and thinking about going back to an ICE vehicle!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬

4 charging points at the Banchory car park. Only 1 works.

There is no option for a zero star review. This whole business is not fit for purpose. Greats multiple maximum fee charges to payment accounts without authorisation for any vehicle charges. Takes multiple amounts of unauthorized payments without providing any service at all, every time you try and use it.

I would give zero stars, but the helpline was, eventually, useful. the app doesn't work, so had to buy an RFID (yet to arrive 4 weeks later). only then could they override the system and force my car to charge. even this was on the slowest charger, because the fast one wouldn't work (Inveraray, but they're all as bad) to top it all off i had to vacate the space after 2 hours or i would have been charged a further 40 quid. managed to get back to loch lomond, just, and a proper charge with a decent bit of kit.

It absolutely amazes me that these clowns have a government contract.

When the Scottish government is implementing EV zones left, right and centre yet they don't have the infrastructure to charge literally anything.

The whole RFID card system very rarely works, the stability of the chargers is very poor, with over 50% out of action or charging at a small % of what they should. Every charger works differently, meaning you need to go through a specific step by step way of charging, which still rarely works successfully.

The reality of this poor infrastructure is often being stranded somewhere in the cold, having to call in to eventually be told the chargers don't work, can you find another one. That then means sitting in a car for 2 hours on a poor charger whilst the kids get fed up until you have enough charge to limp out to a proper charger like ionity.

Absolutely horrific service. App doesn't work. It's a lottery if the chargers accept cards. When you call them up the operators are clueless. Surely the Scottish Government should be looking at this company contract and awarding it to another more competent company. It's a disgrace and would put people off EVs. Looking at reviews of the APP and the service online line reads so bad. Does anyone from Charge Scotland or the Scottish Government even have cognisance of this, or even care!!!!
It shouldn't be allowed to go on.
