Incredible precision and attention to details
It's an ongoing beautifull experience finding new ways in wich astute plug-ins may help you.
But the most usefull tools and features are the tangents (in all off it's places) and print service plug-ins.

If Astute Graphics becomes unavailable
If Astute Graphics becomes unavailable, I think I would close my sign biz. It's my secret weapon.
It's fun to use and it works.
I don't use everything Astute Graphic offers.
First Aid is hands down my favorite tool and it resides on my Illustrator 24/7.
Two things I like least about the program is:
Periodically, the program gives a warning which says "license in inactive". It's not. They've got some goofy timer that goes off spinning me into a dimension of....Anyway, you got to close Illustrator in the middle of the design process and I find the experience an anathema.
The other thing I don't like is their tool icons.
I'm so used to Illustrator's native tool icon that any other tool icon is a distraction.
I make really good money making signs in my community....and Astute Graphics is to blame! ;-)

Don't like the new payment model
I love Astute, but I think it is insanely expensive, I use it everyday but only 1 or 2 of their scripts, I loved more the old system where you would get the version "forever" after a 1 year payment. This just became a full cashgrab...

We do appreciate that some of our customers preferred the individual plugins option and consequently the change in business model wasn't taken lightly.
Previously the full suite of 16 of our plugins was priced at almost $600 USD, whereas the subscription is priced at the cost equivalent of what would once have bought 3 plugins, plugins which still required paid for upgrades from time to time. This has allowed the majority of customers to benefit from access to all tools rather than a restricted set.

So many things!
I have had this plug-in for a little over
a year and I know I have only scratched the surface of the cool things I could do and how it could really streamline my workflow. There a LOT of things that this plug-in can do, but it is a bit overwhelming. Even navigating the "education and training" is a lot to stomach. Perhaps having a "basics" section (that is easy to find) so that those new to the plug-in had a place to start would be helpful.

AG changes and improves the way I work.
I have been using AG for about two years and it has become fundamental in my daily work process especially in my work as an illustrator technician at designstripe.com. I absolutely recommend it. Not only does it allow me to work faster and better but it opens up other potentialities to create artistic works.

Great plugins, but expensive subscription service.
I tried the full subscription for a year only to I realise I don't need the full suite. For the few plugins I continually use it is too expensive. Over the years I've bought, and upgraded 70% of standalone plugins, they were great and the few I constantly use (Vector First Aid, Autosaviour) that are still perfectly good for my purposes. However, I can't revert to them as I can't save or store the (still valid) legacy licenses. I've trashed everything and it still won't work. I have a feeling Astute has engineered them to make it extra difficult to backtrack, revert to older versions. As someone pointed out, "great software, greedy company". I also find the catchphrase "the software pays for itself in 3 days" very arrogant... not all us are running big companies. Furthermore, I wasn't notified the sub was running out, and there was no "renewal discount" to entice me back in. Pity, Astute seems to have forgotten the "little guys".
When trying to add my legacy license to an old version Illustrator (I spent enough on them, I'm told it can't store it.
I bought the bullet and re-subscribed for a year but it asks for activation every month, totally nervy software. Now it is asking me to uninstall older software. I understand the need to update, advance. But can't you leave the older stuff alone, it worked fine all this time.

The move has therefore meant that the majority of customers have been able to benefit from access to all tools rather than a restricted set.
Your legacy licenses can be reinstalled and they remain compatible and available for the Adobe Illustrator/Windows/Mac versions they were purchased for (generally CS6 to CC2019 on both Windows 7 / 8.1 / 10 and macOS 10.10 through to 10.14), but they will not function in Illustrator 2020, Mac 10.15 or above.
Unfortunately it's not possible for us to provide legacy plugin compatibility with Illustrator 2020, Mac 10.15 or above, this is because an eventual cut off point for maintaining older versions is necessary to allow our engineers and wider team the time to focus their efforts on compatibility, research and development of more recent versions of our plugins.
Customers do receive two notification emails to remind them of expiry/auto-renewal of their subscription. The first is sent seven days prior and the second is sent the day before.
The installers for your legacy licenses are available on our website however, if you experience any issues with the use of these please do reach out to our support team, one of whom will be happy to help.

I would never be able to go back to the…
I would never be able to go back to the old way! No way couldn't make me. These plugin speed workflow and are allot more intuitive in my opinion than the native tools of illustrator. You can achieve similar results with native and Astute Plugin but the easy to can with astute graphics is huge.

Illustrator Enhanced - despite crashes
The tools have enhanced my experience in many ways, both technically and creatively. However, the constant app crashes (on Mac) are tough to deal with. I just have to let them pass and not give up on AG.
