Young Writers gave my granddaughter a chance to publish her poem. It is such a great school program. In addition, Gemma was so helpful in helping us obtain a frameable copy.

My students loved the competition! My only reason for giving 4 stars was for the communication. My students’ certificates were sent to a school on the other side of the country, which was strange. Thankfully, the teacher who received them contacted me and we got it sorted. But both of us had difficulties trying to reach Young Writers. My emails did not seem to be reaching them. Finally, we got in touch. In the last few weeks the communication seems to be better. I do think I will do this competition again! My students were extremely excited to hear they were getting published!

My middle school students LOVE these competitions. It's not only a break from the day in day out curriculum grind, it's a way for students to truly experience creative writing. The recent poetry contest had the entire school submitting their entries. While not everyone can win, the process itself is rewarding; and that's why we keep coming back to Young Writers year after year.

My students really enjoyed the writing contest. The materials provided were very helpful, appropriate and easy to use. I highly recommend this contest and the customer service has been excellent!

I was late in submitting approval for my child's short story into the publication, and Young Writers was so responsive and helpful. They even offered an alternative so that my daughter's work could still be published in another publication. Such a great program for kids!

My students loved this competition. My students work was going to be published however I got the parent permission slip super late passed the deadline in the mail. I emailed the company and they were super understanding and her work was able to get published. The kids had a lot of fun, and I will definitely be doing it again with them in the upcoming school year.

This is my first year having my students write the 100 word stories. It was fun having them challenged to eliminate words and get down to the 100 words, while still keeping the integrity of their stories. I will definitely do this with my classes next year.

My 7th grader enter the Fright Club mini saga and his story was selected. He was extremely excited to have his story published. There was a little confusion when I gave my permission but Gemme was amazing and worked it out. She was responsive and provided details all long the way to get things corrected. We are so excited to see his work in print!!! Thank you YoungWriters!

My students participated in the Wander in the Woods mini-saga and enjoyed crafting their stories using the colorful graphic organizer. Young Writers have been amazing with all of their communication and also with sending detailed information to the students being published! It's been an excellent experience-thank you!

Every fall my middle school students ask about the 100 word saga competition - sometimes even on the first day of school!! It becomes the highlight of ELA class for the whole school year! They love the challenge of whittling down their stories to 100 words. Then, the anticipation of awaiting the book publication takes up the springtime.
My students have been entering the Young Writers' contest for many years now. It is a such a terrific way to motivate students.

My 8th grade students participated in the "Fight or Flight" contest, and they had so much fun writing the mini-sagas. I LOVE that YW provides a clear lesson paired with the contest information. That made it so much easier! In addition, when 26 of them got published, YW sent very neat certificates, and the kids were so excited and proud of themselves. We will definitely keep doing this every year!
