First time having to go through the probate process, so used this service for peace of mind.had. A call back very quickly on a query I had sent the forms off and received my ref number after two weeks. And probate was granted the following week. Can't recommend this service enough.

I sent off my probate form on the 28th Oct 2024 (hard copy) I received an email on the 18th November 2024 letting me know that they had received my applications. I have just received my email 30/11/24, that my probate application has been granted... Just under a month all done.

Provided clear and precise instructions as to what needs to be done. Made a complex process straight forward, especially for relatively simple estates.

Probate is a tricky (and potentially expensive) area for most people to navigate. YouCanDoProbate really does make it possible for anyone who is moderately computer literate to successfully put in an application themselves. The website is arguably the best of its kind that I have ever used. I needed to have four phone consultations to reassure me on various points. The calls were prompt, unrushed, and with someone who really knew what they were talking about.

YouCanDoProbate saved me over £2000 (maybe £2500). Their fee of £399 bought me access to an online process that took me step by step through what would otherwise have been a very daunting task - as I suspect it would be for most people. The objective is to obtain a Grant of Probate and however many copies you require.

The fee also includes advisors on the end of a telephone should clarification or advice be required - and when one was not immediately available they called me back very quickly. I called them 3 or 4 times and each time the advisor was patient, thorough, very knowledgeable and extremely helpful - each time stressing that if I had further questions I should not hesitate to call them again.

The online process (which comes with a comprehensive online guide for each section needed to be completed) called for a lot of information to be entered; mostly regarding the banks, building societies, funeral expenses and much more but if it is not immediately to hand, the process allows you to step out as may times as you like and all the information already entered is retained. It can seem daunting at first but the more I stuck at it, the easier it seemed to get.

The end result of the online process is a PA1P Probate Application form which is 90% auto-filled based on the information I entered as I stepped through the online process. Depending on circumstances, other forms may also need to be generated.

Once I printed out the form and checked it over, it was simply a case of sending it to HM Courts and Tribunal Service along with a death certificate and the original will (in my case) along with a cheque for £300 plus a £1.50 fee for each Grant of Probate copy required.

I believe that had I gone through a solictor to apply for a Grant of Probate, I was probably going to have to pay around £3,000 so YouCanDoProbate saved me a lot of money.

I could not recommend them highly enough.

I was terrified about tackling Probate on my own, but the Bereavement Association recommended YouCanDoProbate. First I phoned up for some advice and without even buying the programme, got first rate advice. It was easy to use, the information was clear and written in plain English, no legal jargon. Whenever I phoned the helpline I was greeted by a friendly voice, no call centre, and the information and reassurance was excellent. I could not recommended this enough.

Highly recommend this company. The intuitive software is easy to use and the friendly and professional telephone support is excellent. On the advise of the team I posted off my documents as I had considered using the government online form assuming it may be quicker! However Probate was granted in 15 days from when I posted my documents. Thank you to all the team at You Can Do Probate for making a stressful and emotional task much easier to navigate without the need of expensive solicitors!
Nb The only improvement that I feel would be beneficial is the function to print the breakdown of all the values and calculations

Being 90 years old found the prospect of applying for probate extremely daunting, the registrar of deaths told me to approach the "Bereavement Support Group" who in turn informed me of the web site to down load forms from, this I achieved (all 22pages), and commenced to fill in the answers required, got stuck on one question but the system would then not let me to advance to stage 2 until all was 100% on stage 1.
Then phoned "You Can Do Probate" and a gentleman then proceeded to not only help with the unanswered question in Stage.1 but over the next two hours took me thro all the other stages, after which he told me to read very carefully thro the answers for any typo's or anything not to my liking and to phone him (Giving me his personal phone no) if so. there was one item I was not happy with so made contact again, and he then very carefully took me thro the procedure to make these changes (could never achieved by myself)
Then on the 24th July mailed all pages to the Probate Service and on the 14th August received my Probate Certificates

Certainly a savings compared to solicitors fees.

This was terrifically useful for walking my brother and I through the probate process for our father's straightforward estate and saved us a great deal on solicitor's fees. Will certainly use this for my in-laws when the time comes. My only reservation is the way that gifts from the estate were displayed and dealt with. It would have been so useful to have seen the full details of each gift in a summary table (including amount and exemption), as well as being able to download/print off a schedule of these which could then be used in future when calculating joint gifts from my mother's estate. This is not possible. With that caveat, excellent.

The form was quite easy to follow. But the support from the staff was fantastic and very helpful.

You can do probate is an excellent website, you can ring, email them and they answered my questions when I was not sure of the questions, we applied for probate in April and was granted second week in July. Thanks to everyone at You can do Probate.
Use this site and you can save thousands of pounds.

A very professional company and service, so easy to use from start to finish, but always available to answer any questions quickly, no matter how trivial, saved so much money compared to traditional solicitor.

Simple, well laid out, easy to complete. Sent off 4 weeks later received notice its been accepted and probate granted, saved thousands on using a solicitor.

Very easy to use. Can't give 5* because haven't got to the end yet but if all goes smoothly then a 5* given.

A very well explained process that was easy to follow. There were clear explanations of each section and a checklist to make sure all parts were covered bed moving on. The fact that it generated figures for IHT and letters to be sent to various organisations was helpful. I had to make one enquiry of the helpline and this was really with quickly and easily. The only drawback I can see is that it creates a paper application to submit to the Probate Registry which can take longer (according to HMCTS) to process than an online application.
