Went to the store in Middleton Manchester today. It was advertised as open until 4pm but shutters were down and it was closed. This has happened before at the same store.

Cheltenham main post office run by this company has to be most poorly managed post office in the country. In a nutshell, we constantly face long queues, staff shortages, lack of customer service and dirty facilities. Someone needs to sort this out. This is our town’s main post office and it often has only one or two members of staff on duty resulting in us regularly queuing for very long periods. Disgraceful. Cheltenham deserves better!

Absolutely useless! Had a book on order for several weeks; after assurances from them that it would soon be delivered, it never arrived. Finally I gave up and ordered the book from Amazon, who delivered it the NEXT DAY! T G Jones are about as genuine as their 'made up' name.

Purchased a 2026 diary for £14. I am a long term chronically ill 61 year old with multiple mental & physical health conditions (including traumatic brain injury / skull cancer surgery / PTSD / respiratory / spinal) who's lived 32+ years in Elswick Newcastle, one of the countries most multiply deprived neighborhoods. Purpose was to record my debilitating daily symptoms to continually advise all the diverse health professionals involved in my care. Have previously purchased these c.5 years from discount stores at about 25% of the cost but felt this year is going to be good for me so wanted something brighter and better quality to give me a January boost.

Started filling it in Tuesday and discovered one of the days each week has less lineage to write in than the other 6, clearly an issue with printers laying out / designing the page format / quality control inspection and approval ?? Maybe not the worst complaint in the world but imagine buying a set of crockery / cutlery where one place setting was 14.3% smaller than the rest ??

Contacted customer service who responded that it's not their problem as they only supply these from WH Smith (looking into the involvement of Modella Capital at present in the buy out of WH Smith retail) and they only sell them. No offer of any other line of complaint or people to contact for further complaints).

No the wonder our High Streets are in decline. Vulture retail at its worst probably driven from a multi billion investor who knows the price of everything but the value of nothing.

I was looking for WHsmith all over Westfield then I found this and walked on felt like walking around a big pound shop.
Miss WHsmith they should not have rebranded the stores. Not the same.

I placed my order for 3 Tonie characters on the 9/12/25 for my grandsons Christmas which were In stock and expected delivery to my chosen store in 2 -4 days only to find on Christmas eve I had not has an email confirming they had arrived, I contacted the store who confirmed they didn't have a parcel for me. Thankfully they had them in stock but it meant a 50 mile round trip on Christmas eve to get them and also cost more than my original order as no longer on offer. Yes after emailing them I was refunded but the customer service regarding the redundancy minimal, not even caring that the order hadn't been fulfilled or that I had the stress of trying to get the Tonies on Christmas eve. I really wouldn't recommend this company, never ever had an issue with WHSMITH in the pas.

I pre-ordered a limited edition item from them that was meant to be released on the 12th of December. I heard nothing by the 18th so I contacted them and was told they were out of stock and I was given a refund.

Great on the fast refund, but this doesn't help with getting a limited edition item for a Christmas present. What's the point in taking pre-orders if you don't honour them?

Appalling customer service. I ordered a limited edition Album as a gift for a very excited 13 year old, which never arrived. When I chased it up I was informed there were only limited copies and I wouldn't be receiving it after all. No consideration or communication to let me know. I will never purchase anything from them again.

Placed a click and collect order online a week ago. Received initial order confirmation and expected to be able to pick up from my local high street store in a couple of days (as promised).
No further Comms from tg jones. A week after the order I called into the store and the order was there. So picked it up. No further emails to say it had been collected.
I had expected to wrap and gift this last weekend when visiting the intended recipient, but missed that chance. So poor customer service all round.
Won't be using you again.

Not even 1 the staff are bone idle no help always late always buy mags on Monday ther e put out she said can sell until Tommrow. Its a joke once left waiting out side 50 mins so late so even though names changes nothink else has you will need a Mir with this shop

Used to really like WH Smith. It might as well have closed as TG Jones it TERRIBLE!

Ordered online. It states online that returns can be made in-store. Took my order along with the delivery note/receipt to a store. BUT the also needed an email to show the price! I didn't have that .... They had the order number, delivery note (which had no prices on it!! and a scannable item yet they couldn't look up the order, price OR ring head office as apparently they have no head office now ... It's all done by email!

I could return the item by post - AT MY EXPENSE!! Err no thank you,why would I do that when I can take it back to store like your website states?

Couldn't get a refund from the store.

Even the member of staff agreed when I said it was a 'Sxxxpot' firm. She said it's all gone down hill since TG Jones took over and she can't wait to leave!

Bought 3 boxes of Christmas cards, went home and addressed some of the included envelopes, went to seal written cards in them - no glue/ dried but out of date glue on the envelopes. Went back to shop (Uxbridge). Wouldn't refund me as had written addresses on some envelopes. All sorts of resistance e.g. ''no one licks envelopes since Covid'. Gave me a used tube of Prittstick. Can't recommend buying cards from TGJones - obviously old stock

I went into Uttoxeter store to buy some gift cards I was very impressed by the members of staff who asked me if they were for me and no-one else had asked me to get them seeing all the scams about I thought this was excellent customer service never been asked anywhere else about this .

Very poor attitude in Wickford branch. Zero customer service. Not interested in helping at all. “Computer says no” mentality. Avoid!

It seems the rude staffing problems in the Aylesbury store haven't changed much since TG Jones took over WH Smiths. A grey haired female member of staff was so rude to my wife. Bah humbug!

I made a purchase in the Tunbridge Wells store yesterday. The presentation of the goods is poor, the checkout was unattended and when a member of staff arrived ( wasn’t sure they were staff due to looking like a vagrant ) they were rude. I won’t be going back and can’t see the store lasting.

Went to their post office counter and they could not accept an Amazon parcel because they have no signal and no WiFi. What kind of business goes down because of simple issues like this? Pathetic management and the staff just didn’t care because it was less work for them.
