I went in today 18/5/2026 and I was over charged for A4 refills where they were for 50% off but I was charged for the full price and the candidate at the til was not admitting that they have over charged us. We went back to the shop to get a refund and they had closed the tills which i feel that ead wrong. I very much feel yhry are racisit too especially the English staff there. We will now need to go again on Saturday to sort out this mess.

This is a really wicked evil immoral vile unethical sinful toxic pernicious awful dreadful harsh miserable inferior shoddy faulty substandard abysmal atrocious and most of all overpriced shop. Not even the previous words can describe how horrible it is. Trying to con us they think we are stupid idiots and they know better well guess what some people actually notice that you double the price of a book and sell it for 1/2 price so u make the same profit and also we can see it on the back we also notice that u never deliver when u say and it takes months i missed my present for my grandmas last birthday before she died the staff are EXTREMELY rude and dont help with a single thing everything is over priced so dont even bother replying to this review i dont even understand why i wasted my time with this you rats i missed my grandmas last birthday

Southend on Sea High Street Branch
Haven’t been in there recently and what a lovely change it made being greeted with a smile and hello from Laura at the till. Certainly brightened my day. I hope the young lady is looked after once you close.

I visited their branch in the Guildhall shopping centre in Exeter at the beginning of April to buy a 30 unlocked data sim card, when I discovered that it did not work an hour and half later. I took it back to the store for a refund. The cluster manageress I spoke frankly did not really want to know about, claiming the contactless payment had gone direct to the mobile operator of the sim card and it was their responsbility. She was totally out of her depth based on her actions or rather lack of them at good customer care.

Telling me there was nothing she could do. Watching her face drain of colour at the mention of referring it to Trading Standards if needed and her change in attitude stating don't get us involved with Trading Standards wonder why?. Especially are the airtime provider confirmed in writing that it was TG Jones resposibilty to process a refund my purchase was in one of their stores.

Overall the staff mostly seem more interested to chatting to each other. no wonder the store always looks empty. However one of the staff advised me to come back in to speak to the store manager who was off that day, which took 3 attempts. He actually was helpful as much a possible even apologising for the total lack of interest and negative attitude by the cluster manager the week before. So he advised me to contact their head office customer services team by email and gave me their email address. However using it only gets the response " this email address does not exisit. Not a surprise really. So asked my bank to start a dispute claim, today they have informed me that despite the clear evidence on the TG Jones sales receipt , TG Jones head office complaints team have rejected the dispute. Their head office customer services are just as poor as well!

Best advice I could give anyone is don't use them after all there other far better book shops and stationary stores. Thank goodness the railway stations and airport oulets are still run by WH Smiths

Absolutely disgusting! Looks like a trash and overpriced. A very simple birthday card, it cost me £4, normal price for this type of cards are between £1.50-£2. I was in shock, and later regretted I pay for it! I feel I have been robbed!

So “beam me up snotty with the women wearing the TGjones t-shirt in Bury St Edmund’s that says she don’t work for TGjones need to get her attitude in check I don’t care what sort of day you’ve had it’s not our fault you can behave properly behind a counter!!! And I don’t care what sort of day you’re having but when you serve the General Public we don’t want to see a snotty attitude and a tone of voice that’s in the toilet!

New name same old rubbish being sold, it just falls to pieces, they have ZERO quality control and the prices you pay for cheap and nasty Chinese rubbish, is a joke! I bought a stapler and it fell to pieces as I opened the packet, now I have to go all the way back to Westfield over a stapler. Don't take any more risks with this facade of a 'new' company

Those leaving views about post offices they are not owned by tgjones it's a completely separate business so if your experiencing queues bad customer service or anything else regarding them its post office not tgjones also dhl isn't tgjones if it's down it's not tg jones fault it's dhl

Theres a lovely lady that works her and helps any one that asks . I think she is the manger if she isn't she should be . She always seems to be running around helping ppl think her names Sarah blonde hair .works really hard to help keep the good work up

I'm not surprised to see so many negative reviews here. Following my own dismal experience with the retail staff at their Guildford store and the poor state of the shop in general, I took the time to write an email of complaint to their customer service department. Unsurprisingly I suppose, they have not even acknowledged receipt of my email and certainly not replied. Guess that's that then, what a garbage shop!

I just wanted to say a big thank you to Dale manager of Southend on sea T J Jones site. Dale was extremely helpful and gave great customer service when I had to have an item refunded by cash. He dealt with my query quickly and professionally, thank you

The TG Jones in Paisley is clearly understaffed - so the problem is not with personnel but with management or recruitment. Only one person serving during a busy period, so at least a dozen people waiting. The 2 self service tills were not working, so couldn't even just post a letter! Ended up buying a full book of stamps at the shop till (again, only 1 serving), to save waiting in the long queue.

Too expensive. Rip off.

Absolutely appalling. I was told by TG Jones that all of their stores which include a Post Office counter offered a 'Post Restante' service, whereby customers can elect to have post retained at the Post Office (up to 18 days) for later collection. I now live in Alicante, but required various items only available in the UK, one of which had to be collected in person, and I had arranged for these items to be held for me at Folkestone. I had driven up through Spain and France, only to be told, in no uncertain terms, that none of the TG Jones stores offered this service, despite having been told exactly the opposite by 'customer relations'.

What a dump! The shop looks like a front for a money laundering operation owned by dodgy overseas investors.
It has not had a new carpet since I was there in 2001, the place hadn’t been painted and calling it tatty is being generous.
I tried to buy a “documents enclosed wallet” for posting a parcel and they had none, they only had a few envelopes, some flat pack boxes and bubble wrap in their post section.
This is what happens when businesses are bought and sold by faceless operations for profit like Modella.

Customer services are liars! They mispriced items on their site and then lied saying they were no longer available, when they are literally still selling the same product on their site. They cancelled my order but didnt process the refund, I have had to chase them up and someone has now 'approved' my refund. Looks like we will have another empty shop on the high street soon as these lot are rubbish.
