I use Textbroker as a content purchaser and I love the platform. Once you are able to find an author that fits your requirements, direct orders are the way to go. I recommend creating a team to find the winners then move into direct orders.

Got paid $0.50 per hour to write for them. Not kidding.

I applied to be a writer with textbroker and followed all the steps. I then submitted my sample article for rating.

2 weeks later I haven't heard a word from them. I have interacted with people who wrote their sample article and it got approved within hours. Am thus wondering what could be wrong with my article. Is this the end of the road for me or I need to be more patient?
I would really appreciate their comment on this.

I am a freelance writer and worked for Textbroker for 10 year with a 4-star rating. My account with them was locked after it was hacked. They reopened it after I changed my password. It was hacked again this weekend. They then sent an email saying they were closing my account and I could no longer work for them. They wouldnt talk to me on the phone and gave me no answers as to why they would punish me after their platform was hacked. That means I lost $200 in work this week and won't get the pay I already worked for until they "review" my account.

The pay scale is too low but it was steady work and I had been there so long I was on several teams and had several direct clients. They charge a minimum of 7 cents a word but paid me only 1.7 cents a word. Don't work for them. Don't use them for content. Contact someone directly. I'm looking for more work now.

The reviews are very helpful. Although I know most of the grammar rules, sometimes I forget one or miss something when submitting an article. I appreciate the help!

I was initially given a 3-star review on my sample, even though I was told it was 4-star quality. When I asked why this was, I was told I would be moved up to a 4-star writer. While this is good news, it has now been a week since I was told this change would be put into the system. These issues have delayed everything for at least two weeks now.

It seems there is little to no repercussions to the writers for holding orders for days and then dropping them last minute. I spoke with Ashley at Textbroker regarding my frustration and she apologized for the inconvenience and did nothing to remedy the situation. Once the order is dropped, it becomes available for pick up and if you don't watch it closely (in order to cancel) someone will grab it and you're stuck for another 5 days! I tried reaching out to the writers and didn't hear anything back. And then, of course, they dropped my order right before it was due.

I'm happy to have been given a refund, however, I missed my deadline on both of my orders (19 days in on a 5-day order). There should be a limit on how many times an order can be dropped!

Also, the quality of work is hit or miss.

They asked me to send a picture of me holding my ID before I'd be allowed to order articles. I don't work for them and they're not a financial institution, so why should they be requesting this kind of information?

I decided I was gonna do it anyway but guess what they did? Rejected my ID and asked me to fill the refund form to get a refund, effectively wasting my time.

If you value your time, stay away from this service.

This has been the worst experience. The system is messy and complicated. The work is mostly awful. You'll burn through a lot of money looking for decent writers and once they have your money, you're not getting it back. I will never, ever, ever, ever use them again. Trust me, you're much better off using Fiverr.
