I've been using TextBroker for several years and they have been a lifesaver when it comes to my content needs. I push out 75-100 articles per month for a number of sites and I couldn't do it without them.

I have on-and-off written for Textbroker for over a decade. It can be good or bad. The editors are paid about $11 an hour and are far from professional. For the last eight years, I have worked for the leading USA home improvement retailer barking out product descriptions. Once covid hit, I chose to go back to Textbroker. Now, it's a nightmare. I have two UC Davis SEO certifications, and I know these folks don't get it. They cater to Black Hats – it is a content mill. You would be better off digging in the neighborhood trash for aluminum cans.

Textbroker is a nightmare
I started to work for textbroker in 2018. The pay was terrible. My mom was a client to help me start my writing skills and when she tried to send me a direct order she got an email that was trying to convince her not to send me a direct order because I was a 2-star at first. A few weeks ago, I started to write for textbroker without my mom sending direct orders. After I send the article instead of the clients trying to help to see what I did wrong they will make fun of me making me feel stupid. They treat the 2 stars like trash. In 2021 I had to get a new email, which meant I could not do textbrokers anymore because it was attached to my email that got deleted, so they deleted my account. A few months later, I decided to come back to textbrokers. I already had a new email, and my writing skills have improved. After I signed up and did the essay and set up my Payoneer account I got an email saying that I already have an account. I let them know my account was deleted because I got a new email. The next day they said Congratulations! We have rated your writing sample and activated your account - you can now start to write and earn money! So, I was excited. A few weeks passed and I tried to log in and it said, Unfortunately, your account has been blocked for security reasons. Please note: Your account will be permanently closed in one week if not resolved. I am mad and upset at this point. I let them know that the old account I had was deleted because I had to get a new email. I got an email saying to make a new account. I just applied as an Author again this week and it says to make your Payoneer account first, then you will get your rating. I went to user data and scrolled down. I'm not seeing where I can connect my Payoneer. There is no link. All it says is You can connect to Payoneer once your Signup article is rated. Today I tried to log in and it said, Unfortunately, the information you have entered does not match an account on file. Please ensure that you have selected the appropriate login type of "author" or "client." If you can't recall your password, please use the forgotten password link located on this page. And I know I entered the correct password because I wrote it down when I made the account and saved my password. And the customer service sucks. I emailed them on Monday because they said they were only available on Monday and Friday, and nobody tried to help. I got one email that said
Hello Kayla,
We received your email but are currently out of the office.
Someone from our team will get back to you as soon as possible.
Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8:00 am PST - 4:00 pm PST.
I was confused because it was Monday and I emailed them at noon. I waited until Friday and emailed them again and nothing. This is just a joke at this point. I would not recommend Textbrokers to anyone.

Hard to beat!
I've been working with Textbroker for more than 10 years (on and off) and it's a great service. Most content services cost far more and the quality I've found of those other services (when you're paying much higher costs) is only marginally better. I've used several different content creation companies and I keep coming back to Textbroker.

Avoid - Ridiculous Beyond all Words
I tried signing up to this pathetic website in March last year - couldn't get past the opening sign-up. So today I tried once more. Nope. These people, whoever they are, make it almost impossible to sign up and why you have to add hashtags to a written article is ludicrous. I would you save your time and just move on!

Textbrokers are scammers I applied for textbrokers because I saw that they pay more now. I just got an email that said. During a recent review of your account, it was flagged as having activity potentially indicative of fraud. Protecting your identity is one of our primary goals, so your account was automatically closed until this can be resolved.
Please submit a new "selfie" photo of yourself holding your state ID or passport, and include in the photo today’s date and your signature written on a piece of paper. This means your entire face must be clear and visible. Please also include a second photograph of the ID and signed/dated paper alone to ensure that we can read all of the information. I did not have a picture up on my profile and saw some of the reviews on Trustpilot that said the same thing happened to them too. The question is why is Textbrokers doing that to people?

I have written for Textbroker for a number of years. No, they do not pay enough to support yourself, but in a pinch it was a great way to earn a few dollars. However, it seems that for quite awhile now, they have very little assignments. I just saw a review where the client paid $36 for a 500 word article, I know from experience this would pay the author around $3.00 or less. The AUTHOR! I also agree that once an author gets close to writing "too many" articles, they are reviewed and their rating is downgraded. I think this is to keep the authors from growth, and a higher rating is just a dangling carrot. In any case, Textbroker at present (and for quite awhile now) has very, very little assignments. I don't wish them to go out of business, but I have written them asking if this is the case in a roundabout way. I received a reply stating they have no control over when clients will put in a request for content. My experience with Textbroker was excellent in the beginning, now..... I can only say I wish them the best.

I can see by reading these reviews that I am not the only one. They also said that I spun content and closed my account without paying me. Stay away from them.
Don't Put Your Livelihood on It. They'll Mess You Up
It's okay for a content mill, and it'll get you by in a small-dollar emergency. But beware if you intend to make a living off of it or use it as your primary source of income. Don't trust them. You might get shut down the same week your rent is due. They'll close your account after years or DECADES of service. Or they'll let their new payment processor do it, keep your money, and use the excuse that you "violated" the processor's terms. It's one thing to close someone's account. It's quite another to take their hard-earned money. I have a very high-standard work ethic, and I know I didn't do anything wrong. Read all the other reports of similar occurrences from high-income and veteran writers. It's not a coincidence. They only hit me for a little under $200, but I've seen other writers suffer greater losses.
They seem to do this sort of thing to veteran writers, writers who crank out a lot of material and earn good $, or writers who qualify for bonuses. I received a couple of bonuses from them during my journey, and I guess they didn't want me to qualify for any future ones. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, as they are untrustworthy and don't really value commitment. I spent 10 years of my life making money for them when I could have been growing my own business and clientele. Hard lesson learned.
Good affordable service
I managed to find good writers for a reasonable price on Textbroker

Dishonest, Untrustworthy Thieves that Don't Protect Their Clients' Information
Absolutely horrible company! They will close your account and steal your money! This not only happened to me, but to at least 3 other freelance writers I know who use their site. 2 of us had our accounts closed because "we submitted spun content" (which is absolutely anathema to freelance authors, and I am 100% confident no legitimate freelance writer - myself included! - would spin content - not if we hoped to keep our jobs anyway). The other 2 lost our accounts because of "new identity verification policies" that were put in place requesting a ton of personal information that the company already had on file.
All accounts were closed, and they refused to pay us the money we had earned. Two of us have submitted complaints to the BBB, but the company is hiding behind automated responses and generic replies. I have no doubt that reaching out to the BBB will do no good, but at least it will show people what kind of company TB really is.
After speaking with my fellow authors about it, we've come to the conclusion that we had written too much and were getting close to rewards with the company's "new reward system" and they didn't want to pay out. (All four of us were pulling down several hundred to a 1,000 dollars each week through direct clients and team work.) So they came up with bogus reasons to close our accounts.
Most of us are fine with the account closing. As my friend said, "Who'd want to continue to writing for a such a dishonest company anyway?" However, between the four of us, they kept about $3,000 dollars of our money and have no intention of giving it back to us.
I've also seen several people I DON'T know leaving reviews about very similar experiences (some of them are right here on this page, in fact) and they all seem to be high-level writers.
None of us asked for TB to implement a new rewards system. If they didn't want to pay out, why in the world did they come up with it? Also, if we - the writers - were making hundreds to $1,000 a week individually, imagine how much TB was making off ALL of us combined. And they closed our accounts?
Yeah. That was a genius move.
I look for TB to be out of business soon. They're doing far too much shady stuff to far too many people (both clients and writers alike as the reviews make it seem). To me, it seems like a last-ditch effort to make as much money as possible before closing their doors for good.
Won't hurt my feelings any. Companies that prey on their writers and clients need to be shut down before they steal from more people.
Review from perspective of Client.
Review from perspective of Client.
Requested 5 star article, which was decent, requested some revisions, now there is a wholly different article written by a new writer which is worst than the first and doesn't take into account any of the revisions I asked for. Don't see a way of contacting previous writer as I don't have a record of their username. Poor experience overall wouldn't use again. Got suckered into it with the 7$ coupon they advertise. Minimum deposit is 25$. 500 word article was $36.
Avoid Textbroker
I worked on writing projects via Textbroker. My writing was approved by the clients, they paid Textbroker, and now Textbroker refuses to pay me. They closed my account on a random Friday night with no way of me contacting them until Monday morning. They are now withholding all of the money I made, even though the client has already paid them for the work I have done. They have been extremely unhelpful in remedying the situation so I contacted BBB and am now working with them to get my hard earned money from Textbroker. A warning to all freelance writers, AVOID TEXTBROKER.
The firm is seeking adversaries where none exist
I was a Textbroker author from 2013 to 2020, having been terminated for submitting text the owners determined was spun. I was given no opportunity to explain that I’d simply submitted that copy in error; the particular piece was only partially worked, and I’d sought a number of times to address the incident through the proper channels. No response was forthcoming. If the company chooses to hide behind its trembling knees, that’s its business. I’m satisfied that my integrity outshines the firm’s. Stay away.
Require Passport Verification with No Automatic Refund- Funds Stuck in Account
Ordered a piece of content to try out the service. They required me to upload a picture of my face and my passport, which of course I'm not willing to do for a 30$ article.
I asked for a refund and instead of accepting, they make me fill out a form explaining why I want a refund.
I'm still waiting to hear back but I'm willing to bet it will take ages for the refund to get approved.
This was my first and only interaction with this service.

Textbroker is dishonest and disloyal - Stay Away at all costs
I confess that I used to believe Textbroker was a great company to write for regardless of the hoards of negative reviews on the Internet. I now understand where those reviews come from. This is about as dishonest and disloyal of a company that you will find as a writer. I will let you know why and then you decide for yourself. Because of how they treat their writers, purchasers of content should think twice before ever ordering articles from them ever again.
Having written for Textbroker for more than four years and having 15,000 articles under my belt, the company suddenly terminated my account this past month. Textbroker gave no reason. When I inquired about the cause, all I was sent was a terse email that the decision was final and that the matter was closed. No explanation was ever given. They retained all of the earnings in my account and will not release them. They will not even talk about the issue. In the past, they have threatened writers with termination for merely turning on a VPN on their computer just to watch Netflix (I wish I could make that up - but it is actually and sadly true). Their emails sent at that point also state that they will terminate the account and retain any of the earnings you currently have. Imagine having a thousand dollars in your account, and then it is terminated just like that with no explanation. To add insult to injury, they retain the money for themselves.
I also had a bonus due to me, so that is no longer being paid. I also supposedly earned a reward for typing over a million words. This promise was never honored even though I passed the threshold months ago. Lies, lies, and more lies. Now, I am not posting this review to be vindictive. On the contrary, I am posting this honest summary of my experience to warn other writers and encourage them to stay away. If you are currently writing for Textbroker, be advised that they can and will terminate you for any reason at any time. They will also keep your earnings. You are welcome to leave a comment here, and I will gladly contact you with email proof and screenshots that I have retained to provide the accuracy of this review. Thinking that you have written for them for years will protect you is false thinking as well. They have no loyalty where that is concerned. They treated me nicely for years and then just threw me to the curb, taking the money that I earned along with them. Textbroker has refused to acknowledge any emails other than to say 'the matter is closed' - It is almost like they are robots and not actually human.
Again, I would encourage you to stay away from Textbroker. They will steal your money and waste your time. It is dishonest and disloyal companies such as this that cause content writers to lie awake at night wondering if they are going to be the next person who will be victimized by their unscrupulous practices. Again, feel free to contact me personally if you would like to gain even further perspective (with proof) as to why you should avoid Textbroker at all costs.
In response to Textbroker's reply to this review - It is my duty to continue to inform readers about the type of company that this is. Textbroker has refused on numerous occasions to provide any evidence that any article I wrote was spun. In fact, I wrote more than 15,000 articles for this company. Not one of them was spun. That is why it was quite shocking when, without warning, my account was closed without warning and without any sort of proof that anything was ever spun. This is because they cannot provide any proof. I honestly have never spun an article in my life - any writer knows that this is actually more difficult in the long run than simply writing a unique article in the first place. So, that alone continues to demonstrate how disloyal and dishonest Textbroker is.
In addition, the company still owes me money. They have a bonus system in place. That was not paid to me - in fact, it appears that is probably the reason they closed the account in the first place - so they could avoid paying out a bonus. In addition, I had already reached several milestones that was to allow me to receive various rewards - those were NEVER received. Finally, Textbroker has now accused me of soliciting their clients. Never have I done that - and they have failed to provide any proof. Beyond that, they have sent me a payment request for $500 for soliciting their customers. Is this really the type of company you want to be writing for? Avoid them at all costs. Companies should also think twice before hiring them to write any content for you.
