Do not go through textbooks.com for school. Customer Service told me to look up my ISBN on my syllabus next time. I had the right ISBN they were just trying to pass off a used textbook as “new.” I was charged $147 for a used textbook.

I have assignments and a quiz that I need to submit, but can’t even get in to their website to access my ebook that I paid for because it’s been down for over 48 hours! Are you guys going to fix it or what?

BUYER BEWARE
We placed and order on textbooks.com for a book my daughter needed for her Biology class, and paid extra to have it shipped immediately. Upon receipt of said book, there were 42 pages missing....................42!! Who does that!?!?! Who sells a school book with pages torn out of it?
Obviously we had to return it. And it will be 1-2 weeks before I get my refund of course!

The worthless piece of crap service can't even offer a DIGITAL textbook instantly.

I just spent $50 on a textbook for a college course that already started, and it's stuck on processing even after the money has come out of my account.

When you buy a digital textbook, it's supposed to be simple and instant. You have to go out of your way to be terrible and disorganized enough to complicate it more than that.

Tricky Tricky Tricky tricksters sent me a supplement instead of my text never mentioned anything about it being a supplement when I purchased it was wondering where the box was So Hood light for being a textbook it should have been heavy lo and behold I open the box and there she lies a extremely shrunk wrapped small itty bitty 2-inch by 2-inch supplement of my ethics class textbook horrible horrible business dealings you guys are horrible do not trust this company do not do business with this company

I was not told that an eBook that I purchased had an expiration date prior to purchasing. I was only made aware that this had an expiration date when I suddenly could no longer access the book, this of course was prior to my class being completed therefore I no longer have a text book to complete my course work. When I went to customer care they told me my only option was to purchase the text book again, when I made it clear I was never told that the textbook would have an expiration date Kelli did not care at all. The support staff had no compassion at all to the horrible situation their unprofessional business practices put me in. I wouldn't recommend this company to any one to use, and I will not use this company again.

My son enrolled in Roanoke College. It’s been weeks and he still cannot order books on his Maroon Card. Starting to think we made a bad choice of school. If they deal with such a problematic company I can only imagine the education he will get there.

Stay away from this shady outfit. Currently their phone is disconnected. They don’t respond to emails or provide any customer service. Worst ever.

WORST EVER! I needed this textbook for an assignment so i bought it, and it said the process was "complete" and that i had 1 digital ebook but whenever i clicked on the link it took me to a broken url. I tried emailing them but it came back as invalid email. Its been 4 days. SCAM SCAM SCAM.

I rarely write reviews but I wanted to help out the students out there that are in dire need of "instant access" e-textbooks. JUST STAY AWAY, ITS FALSE advertisement. They do not grant instant access to reading your etextbook. Its been already 2 days since they are "processing" my order and have not let me grant access to my readings. I cant even contact customer service because they are only open on the weekdays during business hours. For those who need a e- textbook ASAP, DO NOT PURCHASE FROM TEXTBOOKS.COM (or else you might have to turn in an assignment late or waste more time and money to find a simple e-book).

I needed a textbook fast, so I ordered from textbooks.com in the form of ebook to study before my physical book from Barnes&Noble comes. Textbooks.com promises to deliver the materials within 30 minutes from ordering. Two hours later the status was still showing "authorization in progress". When I clicked on my order it was bringing me to the screen to put the ebook to the cart. another thing is that the first page is deceitful in the way of making potential customers to think returns and cancellations are possible. I could not cancel the transaction. You gotta be kidding me. I already called my credit card company and will be contacting an appropriate governing agency, in addition to BBB. Steer off from dealing with textbooks.com. I want my money that was charged for nothing, back.

Do not, I repeat do not sell your textbooks to this business. They quote you this fair price, you send in books and then get a check for less then the quote. Very dishonest.

I rented out a used book that was already in bad condition (pages were already stained and dirty) plus I never even opened it and when I shipped it back I get a stupid email from them saying it was rejected because it was "damaged". I recommend you people buy your books somewhere else this company is a scam full of scumbags.

So, you get a quote for a book. The book is in fine condition basically the same as it was purchased from them. You send them the book, they decide there is an "unknown stain" on the cover, which is ridiculous. They tell you nothing about why it's damaged you have to ask them. So, I ask for my property back, they want to charge me $9 to get it back, if I don't pay they destroy MY property. So essentially they are stealing and holding it for ransom. I will never purchase another book from this company as long as I am in school. Unethical, sketchy and just disgusting business practices. This is clearly a common theme for them if you read other reviews. I've let my entire cohort know not to use these people.

Terrible!! I always order from amazon or ebay, but thought I'd give this place a try. First and last time I make that mistake!! My "very good" condition book is missing the code and covered in writing. Worst condition of any book I own..

On the page of the textbook I wanted, it said that I would receive an email with my eTextbook within an hour. 12 hours later I had to call. They said that it takes longer than an hour. So I got screwed on an assignment! I finally got the email.....10 mins before my assignment was due.

Total scumbags.
They get you to send them your books and then when they receive them they email you and say they aren't worth anything and you have to pay them 8.95 to get them back.
Basically they steal your books from you!

I have used them in the past and had no issues. They bought back books and sent me a check in a timely manner when I was done with the book so I had nothing bad to say. Then today I had to contact them with an issue about something I bought and all that changed. I purchased a book that said it came with the access code. Book arrived and it doesn't have the access code. Textbooks.com doesn't care. I paid $120+ and didn't get what I ordered. They "can't control" what their 3rd party sellers put in their descriptions and the won't refund my money. I contacted the company that shipped the book and they don't have any control either....apparently the book came from some division of Barnes and Noble and all I can do is email them with my concerns. No website, no phone number, no chat available. I spent $700+ on my book order with Textbooks.com and I don't have any reason to do business with them in the future. I have twins just entering college. They have lost a lot of upcoming business.

The interface to read the book you rent/but is terrible! Also make sure to check the expiration date on ebooks. They are tricky with this some will be 180 days while others are 45 or 60.
60 days is not even long enough for a 9 week course. Then of course they offer no extension and say that you will need to buy a new book at full price. Teriible customer service since I only needed the book for 4 more days to finish finals week.

I ordered a book on the 3/17 and I received shipping info that the arrival date had been moved from the 22 to the 26th without anyone, the company or UPS, contacting me. The system falsely stated that I did not order the book and it would be returned. Then UPS claimed they couldn't verify my address. Next thing I know the book was requested back by textbook.com and they called they would send it back. Throughout this entire process, not one single contact was made to me to verify anything. I needed this book for a class! Never again will I order from this site!
