Stay away from Tel3 !!!
LIke many other reviewers I have used Tel3 for years. It was ok till recently I discovered my account was "not active". I received no communications from Tel3 why did it happen. There is money in my account. I tried to call them for 3 days in a row. Each time I was on hold for 2 hours listening to an annoying 1-min long sales pitch again and again. And yes, I was disconnected with "good bye" when there were apparently no more callers "in front of you". So, I did some research. I discovered Tel3 was operated by PhoneTime according to the Tel3 web site. The Phonetime is listed as "a Tellza" company. According to Bloomberg.com Tellza has 1 (one) employee! So whatever names some of the reviewers were given come from the same guy! And you can see the guy's name and his photo at tellza web site. The review does not allow links, so just add dot com to the company name.
By the way, Tellza is listed on Toronto stock exchange and you can buy 1 million of its shares for $1. Yes they cost $0.000,001 each today. Say good bye to your money in that account, and do yourself a favor, DO NOT recharge it anymore! I am glad my account was inactive, so I was unable to provide him with a new credit card after the one he has on file is no longer valid.
If anyone can make calls still, it is because there are computers that do the connection job, and that guy, who still collects your money.
(Now Rectified) TERRIBLE CUSTOMER PHONE SERVICE SUPPORT!
Just got off of phone with a Tel3 manager, who apologized. He stated that a recent promotion hit their phone lines hard, but admitted it shouldn't have happened. He went out of his way to rectify the situation to my satisfaction. Thus, I am changing the rating.

Have used Tel3 in the past. Was always satisfied -- until the last few days. I need to talk to a CSR (for various reasons). I dialed their 800-482-4459. Yesterday, I got cut off - and when calling back - received notice that the hours to call were 9-5 EST. Today I called at 3:49pm EST. Was told "we are currently experiencing high call volume". I was also was told I had a "15 minute wait with 6 callers ahead of me". Finally got down to "1 caller with a 2 minute wait". I *no* longer have *any* callers ahead of me. Have been on hold for aproximately TWO HOURS now. Am currently hanging up, because I think no one is there - since it is now 5:40pm!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

We called Tel 3 in May
Promised a refund in 95-105 days in May. Do not answer e-mails and after 50 min. on hold robot says BYE! Called today said BYE after 2 min. on hold.
For about 2 yr. we have been unable to contact our family in Morocco. We were told they were working on it repeatedly. Finally, they admitted that they could not use the companies in Morocco. We had $79.57 in our account and asked for a refund. In May they said they would send us a check in 95-105 days.

I called Customer Service. I tried again with no luck. It kept hanging up on me.

Please forward it to a supervisor who can help us. I cannot get you to answer the phone even after an hour plus on hold. You do not seem to understand my e-mails, but continue to ask for my rating...Well, your rating is extremely BAD and unacceptable. They responded to me through Trust Pilot in November:
Nancy, we will look into this matter immediately. We have been in business for over 20 years and we don't want any customer to think that we are Crooks. We will look into this and get back to you shortly.
Definition of immediately:
Immediate means "now." If you take immediate action, then there's no delay. The related word immediately is a clue, since it also means right now, instantly, and without any intervening time or space.
Definition of shortly:
Shortly means not long or soon as in 30 min.
Since Tel3 wrote to me in November of 2019, and it is now January 13, 2020, I believe they are not only crooked liars but do not comprehend their own words in English.
I believe they are not only crooked liars but also a company you should avoid for their lack of response to a problem they created and would never have reported the truth to us until I finally canceled their terrible service.
I await the money they owe me. An apology would also be nice.

terrible experiences with C/S this week.
Unfortunately, I agree with the latest reviews posted. I have called several times to resolve the "Whole circuits are busy" saga. This has been going on this Christmas 2019. Thought it was temporary. started again around Jan. 1, 2020... Customer service is a misnomer. no service at all and customers can spend their time on the phone, and then be connected to an extremely RUDE person who does not care about answering your questions... that's the BEST CASE SCENARIO. the other case is that after waiting for a very long time, you are just plainly and simply disconnected. I have also experienced the very bad service that people are relating here... I will try to attempt to call them again one more time to close my account this week and try to recoup my minutes. I just hope that I get my money back. the person with whom I spoke yesterday did not seem able to handle more than one question! she was irate and rude... what a scam this company has become. used them for many years with no problem. maybe they have become too big for their britches... stay away from them.
ps: the people in customer service need to be (re)trained! to say hello, their name, etc... basic stuff!

None of the access numbers, neither locally nor US-wide exist anymore. "you have reached a number that does not exist, please..."
Tel3 which worked for years turned into a SCAM. Money is lost.

Awful service in the last several years. Connection to another country has not worked for over a year and when I try to resolve the issues they kept sending me messages that they assume that the problem is resolved. Unable to reach them on the phone. You can hold for half an hour and they eventually disconnect you without talking to anyone. Once I was able to reach them and they promised to close my account and give me refund which will take 3-months. 3 months have passed and I have not received my deposited money.

This service is a complete scam. I had over 100 dollars in my account and because it was not used for more than 1 year the cancelled the account and took the money. I phoned 3 times and waited for more than 1 hr each time to speak to a customer service representative who was extremely rude and hung up on me. If you care about your money stay away from Tel3

I just signed up and loaded $50 into my account. The next time I tried to use it, I couldn't get through as they needed to "verify my account". Then I was told my account is not active. Called them and waited for 30 mins. Just when I reached the number 1 wait position, the line was dropped saying "sorry, something something, bye bye".
New development - I was pleasantly surprised to receive a call from Tel 3 an hour after I posted this review. My account was reactivated. It shows that they do care.

No one likes being lied to
No one likes being lied to so when I called customer service a few months ago about repeatedly getting “all circuits are busy now” they said this was the first they heard of it. But reading some of the below reviews, I was lied to. More often than not, when I try to make a call, I get all circuits are busy now or the phone rings once or twice and then stops. A few years ago these issues did not occur. Tel3 now probably has more customers that it’s system can handle and not wanting to spend money expanding its infrastructure, it is fine with the declining quality of its service given it is raking in the $. Such is the nature of the world we live in, there are truly few companies which one can call excellent, with most being average and the rest trying to make as much money as possible before they go bust, Tel3 is probably is the last category. Needless to say, I will not be buying more minutes.

Tel 3 , is probably the worst company in the country.Their service is poor, their customer service is just terrible.Believe it or no, it took me three days to reach them, and it’s not the firs time.
They have an automated service to charge your credit card, and they are very good on it.Once you card is charged, good luck......In addition, you have to track your remaining minute, because I noticed that, mysteriously they shrink.......and it’ almost impossible to reach their customer service.
My suggestion, stay away .

Tel3 has been my trusted long distance…
Tel3 has been my trusted long distance service for years and this time when I call customer service I cannot get through to them--my story is the same as everyone else's--"there is 1 person ahead of you" and I wait an hour with no connection with a service person. I am looking for another long distance server while I wait for them. I also have gotten the sudden "good bye" and cut-off. Very disappointing.
Also, several times with certain numbers I call, the person I am calling says that they cannot hear me clearly, and when I leave a message my voice is garbled and undecipherable. Too bad Tel3 seems to have lost it.

I would give a negative star if I could.
I have been a customer of TEL3 for many years and the service worked and was able to reach them. Well, not any more! "All Circuits are busy" when I call. And, when I try to reach customer service, there are always 6-10 callers ahead of me. I wait for 2 hours many times in vain.
I am utterly frustrated. They have become a SCAM!!

After posting this review, Kerry from Mgt. called within an hour and resolved the issue, thanks for addresing the problem at hand, it show a strong commitment to resolve cust. service problems, very friendly and resolute.

My phone number changed and I cannot access my long distance, even when I submit my pin# Called customer service, left on hold for 1 hour then they hung up. tried again, same thing, tried online, no response
Tel3 responded to my review and said they would send an email, they don't have my updated contact info. Is there any way through Trustpilot to give tel3 my email so we can communicate.

Amazing value
Amazing value. I have a friend in England, and we can talk for 2 hours and it's less than $2!!! Plus I don't have to use it within a certain amount of time, and I can use it from my landline or mobile phone.
The service
The service, price and ease of use makes Tel3 the best available ANYWHERE! Over the last few years, I call international weekly and I have never had a dropped call, capacity overload or bad reception. I am extremely happy with Tel3.
