Loved Littlecote but the coach service…
Loved Littlecote but the coach service left a lot to be desired. We self drove to Littlecote but once at the hotel there was no contact information. We ended up having to walk around the hotel asking people if they were with Shearings so we knew where to get the coach the next morning. Two of our party are deaf and even though we told the driver he made no effort to speak to them or make sure they knew what was happening

We apologise that, after self-driving to the hotel, you were not provided with clear information or contact details about where to meet the coach. Having to walk around the hotel asking other guests for information is understandably frustrating, and this is not the level of communication we would expect.
We’re particularly sorry to hear about the experience of the two deaf members of your party. Having been made aware of their needs, we would expect appropriate care to be taken to ensure they were kept informed and understood what was happening. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will share your feedback with the relevant team.
Thank you again for raising these concerns. We hope that, should you choose to travel with Shearings again, we can provide a much smoother and more inclusive experience.

Holiday from hell
10 hour coach trip. Coach uncomfortable, seats hard to close together. Hotel dirty, room dirty, smelt of dogs everywhere. Dining room like an old people’s home, food small portions and average food. The hotel needs a complete refurbished. Ash trays never emptied. Weeds growing in smoking area. Lack of staff. Bar never had what anyone wanted. A lot of my coach party moaned about same things. Coach driver Lee lovely, trips good . Would never go again. Need to check hotel and all rooms for yourself. Cornwall.Hotel Pentire Newquay.

We apologise for the discomfort experienced during the long coach journey, as well as the concerns you’ve raised about the condition and cleanliness of the Pentire Hotel in Newquay. The issues you describe, including the cleanliness of the room and communal areas, the smell of dogs, the condition of the smoking area, limited staffing and the food and bar service, are clearly disappointing.
We’re also sorry that these concerns appear to have been shared by other members of your coach party. Your comments will be passed to the relevant team for consideration with the hotel.
It’s good to hear that Lee was a lovely driver and that you enjoyed the excursions. We’ll be sure to share your kind comments with him.

Our recent visit to the Isle of Man
Our recent visit to the Isle of Man, 28th Sept, to 2nd October had many good things about it. The island is a fascinating place and our driver certainly knew lots about it's history people and places, the hotel in Ramsay was very good, the staff bent over backwards to make our stay pleasant. Of all the places we visited the trip to the south of the island was most disappointing, Castleton was quite run down. The main reason I don't give 5 stars was the journey to and from the island. The ferry was a disaster, far too small to accommodate all the passengers taken on board in a warm dry place, we spent the whole outward journey sat on deck - at the end of September, thankfully it didn't rain. We found a seat inside for the return journey, but dare not leave it as people were continually seeking somewhere to sit. The bus journey from the ferry back to home was long and tedious, we were too early back to Skelton, twiddled thumbs for over an hour, then the final part of our journey was bathed in uncertainty, we arrived home tired and exhausted, the benefits of a great few days on the Isle of Man had vanished into the clouds. Next time we will fly and I suggest you do the same.

We also understand your comments about the long coach journey home, including the extended wait at Skelton and the uncertainty during the final part of your journey.

Loved the location
Loved the location, the hotel,the trips were fine, very dissapointed that the Dolomites trip was discontinued due to a light shower which deemed the coach unable to drive up the lowest part of the climb from Riva.
We are great fans of express holidays, we've done many to Italy, but never with drivers like these two.
Lack of comfort stops, no supper or breakfast break.
Very few offers of drinks from the " bar" or hot drinks( helped themselves to drinks though)
Very little information or interaction
No uniform.
Got the impression they really didn't want to be there.
Great shame because we so enjoyed our week there, would have been 5 stars if we'd had a decent crew.

Easy booking experience

Laura Mann, has made my booking experience so much better, as someone who has severe hearing loss and mobility issues phoning about a holiday becomes a big problem for me. Booking online as well causes a few issues too, so in my case I emailed my requests and Laura answered, Tom Saunders was another person who helped with a booking. They were able to give me peace of mind with the process and Laura now does all my bookings for me she had made me feel welcome and nothing had been too much trouble for her, it's the little things that make such a big difference and knowing things are in place for me before I arrive at my destination.
