Salt Dog Cycling Anmeldelser

THE place to go for advice on all aspects of Lake shoes. I was amazed at how much the guy knew and he was able to recommend a pair of shoes which fit perfectly.

Purchased a couple of items from Salty Dog and received them very quickly. Very good quality items made by NORTHWAVE and on sale at very low prices. Will definitely be purchasing more cycling products from Salty Dog.

You are on your own when something goes wrong. They will not reply you. So not recommended. There are better alternatives!

I went through a sizing discussion with Richard over my size for a pair of Lake boots. I measured (accurately) my feet and was advised what size to buy. I was sceptical, as it was a size smaller than I expected, but after all the positive reviews, especially on Richard's sizing skills, I trusted him. I shouldn't have. I needed the size I expected. My mistake cost me £20 to send the boots back and get the correct size (which fit well).

Before returning, I double checked my foot measurements, but I hadn't made a mistake. Had some lack of communication when trying to return the boots, but when I got to speak to Richard, he was very apologetic, so maybe that was nothing.

Most of my shoes on or off bike are a 10/45, but apparently I measure a 44 wide in Lake sizing, so was recommended to go with a 45 wide, despite me stating all my winter cycling boots are size 46, as are one of my summer pairs of cycling shoes (which are admittedly a fairly narrow last - I have wide feet). Even with really thin socks I could not stand the 45 boots. With the 46, the fit, with my normal winter socks, is good, but I would not say super roomy.

On the positive size, Richard was very good at answering my questions before placing an order, and obviously knows his products (though not sizing in my case). Price was good and one of the few people to stock a range of Lake boots, and especially the wide sizes.

If I had gone with my gut and against Richard's advice, I would have been delighted, but being £20 out of pocket, I can only say 3*, especially as I was talked out of buying the size I thought I needed (and therefore I think the return cost should have been on Salt Dog, not me). I did not ask Salt Dog to pay, but probably should have.

Where to start..?
First of all Richard followed up every query, with recommendations. To be expected you may think, as that's trying to get a sale. However AFTER the sale ( I ordered online) he rang me up to check sizes and recommended a change, which was well needed. Excellent service indeed, and I'm very happy with the Lake winter boots I bought.

Spoke to Richard who turned out to be the most genuine and helpful guy. He really took his time to assist and wanted to make sure I was making a good purchase for myself.
I feel most sales reps these days are just trying to make a quick sale to boost their numbers this quality of service and care rarely exists these days and certainly doesn't exist in larger chain stores.
Will be making more purchases from Richard and Salt Dog Cycling in future.

I have used Salt Dog a number of times. Richard the owner is the most helpful guy on the planet. He has sourced me items that appear unavailable , given great advice and his prices are ultra competetive like for like.
I can particularly recommend him for Lake Cycling Shoes.
If only more companies had his ethics and customer service the world would be a better place.
If he sells an item you need don't think about going elsewhere.

Great service and good prices from Salt Dog. My order arrived quickly and a minor niggle I had was sorted really quickly and without complaint. I'd thoroughly recommend Salt Dog and look forward to shopping with them in the future.

I purchased a pair of Lake road shoes and upon arrival of the shoes discovered that the size was too small. I then spoke to a guy named Richard who was very helpful providing guidance and arrange for an exchange to a bigger size.

It is always unfortunate when you have to spend additional money on shipment but I guess that is the risk when buying shoes online. In any case, I am very pleased with the service and would not hesitate to buy from Salt Dog Cycling again.

I have feet a hobbit would be proud of, wide, high volume, high instep. I've always had problems getting any sort of shoes to fit so, given that most cycling shoes seem to be made for very narrow feet I took to the internet and repeatedly saw Salt Dog Cycling mentioned and Lake shoes in particular for a wide fit. Over a couple of weeks of phone calls and shoes going backwards and forwards, Richard helped me get a pair that fitted like slippers.....probably better than any shoes I've ever owned, let alone cycling specific. I can't thank Richard enough for the time he spent talking me through options and helping with the purchase. If only more shops would take this amount of time and interest in their customers.

I'd very happily recommend Salt Dog Cycling as the service I've received from Richard has been excellent. Very helpful, very responsive to all the emails that I've sent him and very competitively priced - you couldn't really ask for more. I bought a pair of Lake CX237 Wide Fit cycling shoes but ordered the wrong size initially. However this problem was soon resolved with a slightly smaller pair which are really comfortable and well made. Thanks very much!

We purchased 2 childrens bikes, we asked lots of questions and got much more advice than we expected which was really great. I have already recommended Salt Dog Cycling to friends.

i recently purchased a pair of Lake CX 237 wide fit size 43 and from the point of order Richards communication due to not having stock was brilliant.
as soon as stock arrived i was informed and the order was shipped.
The shoes have great width and perfect length for a UK 9, built quality excellent.

Richard at Salt Dog Cycling was a pleasure to deal with and offered his expert advice on a recurring problem I was having in selecting the right shoe to solve hot spots and numbness I had been experiencing whilst riding. He advised to go with the Lake CX237's wide fit option and even though the size was not correct first time he still managed to source the next size up when other retailers were out of stock. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Salt Dog Cycling and Richards personal service is commendable and always contactable should you have any queries or questions. It is very difficult to find this level of customer service especially through web sales.

Goods arrived next day - needed to change an item - excellent and personal service turned this around and I had the replacement item by return. In a world of automated emails and never being able to speak to someone in customer services it is so refreshing to deal with a company that really cares about its customers. Well done and thank you! Top notch

Super helpful and honest, guided me to best product not just the higher price!

I'm new to road bikes, didn't really know what I was looking for. Richard was really helpful spending time to explain everything to me, there was no hard sell and I really didn't feel like he was selling me things I didn't need. The result is a superb bike, the right shoes and a happy wife because it all came within budget! Cheers Saltdog, I'll be in touch when I need more stuff!

Phoned up for some advice and got through to the owner (Richard) straight away. He could not be more helpful, talking through my requirements and sizing of a pair of Lake cycling shoes. They arrived the very next day, fitted beautifully and have helped me immensely in reducing my times. I now buy all my accessories through Salt Dog. Cheers!

Faultless service.

First item I order was an incorrect size (my mistake) and I needed the order chaging as quicly as possible for an upcoming race. Contacted them on the Monday and had the replacemt by Wednesday.

No complaints at all - I'll definately order from them again.

Just bought accessories to kit out my husband and toddler so that he can use his bike for the nursery run. We bought 2 helmets, jacket, lights and a lock.
We received a friendly and personal response to our enquiry from Salt Dog Cycling and the advice was really helpful and impartial.
I feel confident now that my 2 special people are well protected and kitted out! Thanks Salt Dog Cycling!
