There are a lot of positive views here but that wasn't my experience. As mentioned in other reviews hard to get to talk to a person and the sizes are off:
Tips if ordering:
1) Order a half size smaller
2) Know that if you have to send the shoes back as they don't fit and you ask for a replacement this will eat into your return window.
3) Choose 'Other' if trying to contact otherwise you will get an automated response

Not been a great experience

Such a fantastic, old-school customer service experience. I am in the States, I had a fatal delivery issue with UPS, and Viv at Solovair took absolute care of me. I am now a Solovair customer, for life.

The flame rub offs I purchased from NPS Solovair were gorgeous! They're my first pair from this company. I've been a fan of Dr. Martens for years and when I found out this company actually used to make their boots back in the day, I had to try it out. Once I got my boots, they felt great from the size I usually wear (9). Customer service responds within 24 hours of inquiry. When I first ordered them, there were no updates which led me to contact customer service and they sorted right away once they responded. I recommend them if you're looking for an alternative of Dr. Martens.

J'ai d'abord posté un message pour exprimer mon inquiétude sur l'absence de réponse à mes sollicitations, suite à un problème avec une paire de chaussures : J'ai commandé une paire de chaussures qui ne conviennent pas (problème de confort lié à la taille sans doute).
J'ai commandé une autre paire en m'imaginant que je pourrait retourner la première ensuite, c'était un peu pressé (c'était un cadeau) et je n'ai pas reçu la bonne finition de cuir.
Après un certain temps, le service client a fini par me répondre. Ils étaient surchargés par les fêtes de fin d'année. Je n'ai pas pu retourner la première paire qui a été portée, et je n'ai pas encore pu renvoyer la deuxième pour remboursement. C'est long, ce n'est pas simple, j'ai pas mal de déboires mais :
Les chaussures semblent de très bonne qualité, le service client répond individuellement avec un réel souci de satisfaction. Je leur fait confiance pour que nous nous entendions.
Cette marque reste avant tout fidèle à un esprit d'entreprise artisanale, et c'est ce qui fait toute leur valeur. N'y allez pas pour un service déshumanisé et industrialisé. Solovair est une marque nationale, avec un certain sens de l'éthique. Ces valeurs sont très précieuses aujourd'hui.

I ordered the wrong size boots. My fault entirely. But these were a Christmas gift for my son and this was just a few days before Christmas. I contacted Solovair and they led me through the returns process. They told me to return the wrong boots, order a new pair in the correct size, and they would refund that purchase.
Long story short - within THREE DAYS I had the right size boots, and the refund in my account.
ALL online purchases should be this good, this organised, this trouble free and this pleasant.
Solovair were charming, efficient, understanding, reactive and a delight from start to finish.

I had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Viv in customer service today, she was incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional. It’s rare to find a company that delivers such high-quality, British-made products with exceptional craftsmanship while also maintaining a truly personal, traditional approach to customer service. A genuinely refreshing experience from start to finish.

I purchased a pair of Cordovan Gibson shoes for my daughter this Christmas. She was almost too nervous to ask for them because they are such a high-quality, "investment" gift, but I was delighted to get them for her. While the updates from Solovair were clear, the third-party delivery company failed to actually attempt the delivery.

I contacted the company, and Viv at NPS Solovair was an absolute beacon of light. She performed a Christmas miracle and personally ensured a replacement pair arrived in time for the big day. My daughter is absolutely thrilled, she says they are the most comfortable shoes she has ever owned. Quality product, but even better people behind the brand.

I recently ordered urban hiker boots(I love them) to be shipped to the US and had them stuck in the UPS facility due to recent tariffs. This resulted in delivery issues, as I was traveling by the time they were delivered. In short, my boots got stolen because I couldn't pick them up from the building lobby in time (I live in Chicago's Southside). I emailed Solovair customer support and had an excellent interaction with them. They responded very quickly and sent me a replacement pair. The next boots I buy will definitely be from Solovair (I own two).

So frustrated. Solovair shopped the wrong size. Two sizes too small. I measured carefully and ordered the correct size. Then thought something was really off as I couldn’t believe I needed the next size up as I’ve never worn that large a size in anything. It took two days to get a non-AI/copy and paste response that addressed my question about exchanging (which was not clear on the website-they should state to use the same return portal when making an exchange). But when I was sitting down again to measure all over again before ordering an exchange for a size up, I noticed the box said a UK 5. It’s now Friday which means I likely get to wait until Wednesday before I have to respond to another copy and pasted response that doesn’t answer my question before a follow up from a human a day later. So now I’m half way into my ‘return’ window all because they shipped the wrong size and have a skeleton crew behind their support email system. I wish I’d never made the purchase at all. Very stressful.

The boots are fantastic and well made - a few wears needed, like all leather boots, to get a proper fit. Customer service is outstanding as I guessed wrong with my first purchase. Exchange was really easy (especially when my printer decided to pack up so I was unable to print out the returns label). Thanks Customer Service team for your kind and quick assistance.

Every part of the return process feels deliberately designed to be as difficult as possible. Waiting a week just to hear back from customer service before being allowed to return a faulty item is completely unreasonable. In 2025, the lack of a printerless return option (despite the courier offering it) is poor. This is not a good customer experience and nowhere near what you’d expect from a supposedly premium company.

Very helpful and quick customer support regarding sizing issues. Due to comments, I sized down half a size, this was not necessary and my final pair is true to my size! (I have a rather broad foot)

Hi - I had an issue with a boot which needed a repair. I sent images and it was due to a rare,unforseen fault. I was able to discuss the issue and options then I chose to send the boots (at my expense) to the repair team who completed the repair brilliantly and they returned them ( they paid postage). The after sales team kept me up to date and were friendly, professional. Overall I am very happy with my Boots, after sales and repair. Thank you all (Karen, Joanne and Viv)

After a frustrating experience with UPS, Solovair went above and beyond on their own dime to make the situation right. I cant recommend enough! They definitely earned a repeat customer with me!

Update, I spoke to Solovair customer service and reported my issue, they got back to me quickly and I received a replacement pair of boots! It has been such a quick turn around and I can't fault the customer service.

I'm so disappointed with the hi shine 8 eye derby boots, after having bad experiences with DMs in the past I opted for these as as the reviews were great. I fought for around 6 months trying to break the shoes in which was very painful and now that they're finally comfortable there's a crack in the sole which is going to make them unwearable. There is also a hole in the leather from that cracking, such a disappointment.

The original Dr Marten boots , English made with real leather , proper Oxblood colour and 11high eyelets. If you lived through the 70s this was the boot you wanted , Madness concert , New boots and Crombie , Fred Perry polo and Braces .
Delivered on time , perfect colour , amazing quality, great fit and just perfect. The Solovair UK air sole is only made in England in the original factory , price beats anything from China or Abroad.

First time ordering and I’ve had such a great experience. I messed up my order and made a duplicate, then needed to change it again. I emailed and everything was sorted straight away. I then pestered further with other requests and they obliged. Amazing customer service.
On top of that, the boots I ordered for work are so good that they make up for my last pair of boots (another brand) being robbed. Gutted. But could be worse like 🙃

Quick, kind, and helpful customer service that provides a great amount of precise and useful information to help you make your choice. Very fast shipping. Regarding the boots, there's little to say: the highest quality materials and excellent craftsmanship. I don't think I'll buy any other brands from now on. I prefer a quality shoe that lasts years to a disposable shoe. Besides this, their website has every product necessary for shoe care, and especially accessories and spare parts. Excellent work NPS/Solavair/Gripfast. Keep it up, but most importantly, keep producing in England according to your tradition and don't follow other well-known brands that have moved production and lowered quality. Give the customer what they can't find elsewhere.

I bought some Black Hi-Shine 8 Eye Derby Boots 2 years ago and they have held up really well. The quality is amazing, very sturdy boots that have seen me through a lot of wear. The reason I am leaving a review is my mum accidentally drove over my foot the other day in her SUV and while it hurt my boots managed to protect my feet so well that I literally don't have a scratch on me or them. Not even a bruise! Well worth the investment.
