Good Value... Until You Actually Use It 🙅♂️
I'd genuinely feel bad for anyone hopping onto LycaMobile without knowing what they're getting into.
I'll make this quick...
As a user based in Canberra, the network coverage is poor - calls drop constantly, and data access is unreliable in areas that actually make it a real inconvenience.
After briefly going back and forth with their support team to troubleshoot and getting nowhere, I decided it wasn't worth it and simply requested a refund...
What followed was a series of slow, drawn-out emails with a mandatory 5–7 day response time on their end?! — even if I replied back within 10 MINUTES of receiving their email!! 🤦♂️
The icing on top? The refund I received was LESS than what I was entitled to due to THEIR OWN delays emailing me back to confirm this refund...
But at least they make up for it by profusely apologising for the "inconvenience caused"... No joke, the 5th time they said this, I REALLY started believing they were sorry! Absolutely bonkers.😂
I would've called them, probably would've made this refund quicker. But getting through on the phone means sitting on hold for over an hour before you get to speak to someone...
MATE, personally I've got better things to do than sit there praying someone out of Aussie even picks up the phone. 😂
I'd actually give them 2 stars, because their plans are genuinely competitive on paper and the service does occasionally work...
BUT your experience will be severely compromised by poor network coverage and even worse customer support.
Besides, who reads 2-star reviews anyway? 🙄
Hope my tale saves someone the headache of signing up with LycaMobile. Ta. 👋

I cancelled my contract 6 months ago! They are still trying to charge me even though I moved to a different country! Impossible to cancel through their customer service once you move to a different country. Honestly this company needs to be shut down. Worst worst worst experience ever. DO NOT USE THEM NO MATTER HOW CHEAP THEY SEEM. THEY WILL GET THEIR MONEY FROM YOU UNETHICALLY!!!!

am Besten wäre MINUS 5 Sterne, das was die machen kann man schon als bösartig bezeichnen!!!!!!
E-Sim samt 12 Monate Vertrag gekauft, E-Sim registriert aber lässt sich nicht aktivieren, Support scheitert über 4 Wochen kläglich, bietet Lösung an, wechseln auf physische Sim. Die kommt, in mehreren Anläufen gelingt es dem Support die E-Sim Nummer auf die physische zu übertragen, und nun kommts, der Vertrag ist nicht mehr da, einfach weg, telefonieren damit nicht möglich. Vom Support als nahezu Idiot abgekanzelt mit den Worten: klar dass das nicht geht, sie müssen einen Tarif buchen...., Lösung wird gesucht, portieren auf die alte Nummer des bisherigen Netzbetreibers A1 - seitdem kann ich zwar angerufen werden aber hab weder Internet noch kann ich raus rufen. Mitte Februar wurde der Vertrag mit Lyca geschlossen, nun ist es nahezu Mitte Mai und es gelingt nicht den Vertrag - VON DEM ICH BIS DATO NUR ÄRGER HATTE zu beenden, geschweige eine NÜV Bestätigung zu erhalten um zu einem kompetenten und seriösen Betreiber zurück zu wechseln - ich brauche nämlich die alte Nummer dringendst. Die Korrespondenz mit Lyca sind dutzende Mails, und Stundenlange Telefonate. NIE MEHR WIEDER, HÄNDE WEG VON DEM BETREIBER!!!!!!!!!!

Lyca mobile is a scam
Lyca mobile is a scam. I wish I could give them no star at all. It is the most awful experience I have ever had in Australia. Worst network and coverage. I bought a one-year plan. But did not have any coverage. I asked for a refund, and it has been over one week since I have been waiting for a refund while I must turn off my SIM card. Now, I do not have access to my number, as if I out port my number they would not do the refund. People, please avoid Lyca forever. I am constantly calling them but one costomer service person disconnected phone on me. They ask me to wait for three weeks, not using my number. They do that to force me to transfer my number so they do not have to refund. They are scam.

Geld nur durch PayPal zurückerhalten
Zweimal eine eSIM mit Jahrestarif bestellt, da die erste nicht angekommen ist und der Support eine Woche lang nicht weiterhelfen konnte ("Wir prüfen das, bis morgen kriegen Sie eine SIM,..."). Die zweite eSIM kam nach Bestellung tatsächlich an, für die erste wurde eine Rückerstattung beantragt, die vom Support zwar bestätigt, aber nie getätigt wurde. Zum Glück via PayPal bezahlt und den Käuferschutz genutzt, Lyca hatte nichtmal innerhalb der Frist eingegriffen und daher wurde mir der volle Betrag von PayPal erstattet.
Dazu kommt, dass das inkludierte Datenvolumen in der Schweiz einfach nicht funktioniert hatte (11,5GB versprochen für CH und UK), schon nach einem Tag war das Internet abgedreht (laut iPhone Stats wurden weniger als 200MB im Roaming verbraucht). Auch inmitten der Schweiz plötzlich "kein Netz", obwohl andere volles 5G hatten, doch ein Kollege mit Lyca CH SIM war auch komplett ohne Empfang.
Nach einigen Monaten voll Qualen dann auf Spusu Grüezi umgestiegen, ist zwar etwas teurer, aber damit funktioniert alles nicht nur in AT perfekt, sondern auch im Roaming mit freier Netzwahl!

I've been trying to contact their customer care team
I've been trying to contact their customer care team for over A WEEK now! I called a few times a day, morning and afternoon, but no one answered!! The longest wait time was 50 mins, still no one picked up!! I just simply need to do an eSim swap for a new phone. I've also tried to do it online but kept getting a red error with no explaination what it was, and can't get pass that screen! Terrible experience! If Lyca mobile still cares, please help me out!!

I purchased a SIM card from lycamobile, registration of the SIM card did not work after inserting and the company has charged me 3 times the regular amount and continue charge me monthly. Customer support has not answered one phone call or email query.

I tried to cancel my contract within the cooling-off period, but there was ZERO reply from them, and now they have been trying to charge me for the last three months despite MULTIPLE attempts to get them to cancel. Now I've just received a 'pre-legal' notice saying that my account has been passed on to debt collectors. What a disgusting excuse for a company.

Complete scammers, payment taken. No confirmation received. Phoned their CS to be told my email address doesn't exist. Emailed and been told to use their CS who do not help. No esim received, no confirmation of order or account. Nothing.

Big waste of time and effort
TLDR: Don’t bother with Lycamobile, it’s a total pain in the neck!
Details: Had a terrible time trying to get one of Lycamobile’s eSIMs to work. Purchased from the website, went through the steps to activate it, scanned the QR code, and never received a mobile number. Also no email confirmation received from Lycamobile. Money was taken though! Spent over an hour on hold on their customer service line being told to use their AI chatbot, which didn’t know what I was talking about. Finally spoke to a real person, who couldn’t find the email address I had registered with, and could only suggest emailing for a refund. It’s only $6 (if something is too good to be true it probably is) but I’m concerned I’ve been roped into auto top up, so I’ll give it a go! Best avoid this company and go for a more reputable one.

‼️‼️ SCAM - AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I'm not sure how they're even legally allowed to do business in Australia. There's zero customer service. Like many others here, they took my money and ghosted. I can't activate my simcard even though all my documents are in date. No one ever answers the phone. No one ever comes onto the live chat. I've submitted a complaint to the Telecommunications Ombudsman.
