look elsewhere. a bad website description led to me purchasing the wrong product. surely mentioning that a strip light was UV is a pretty important thing to omit. they agreed to accept the product back for a refund, but given the mistake was theirs, paying the £30 courier service for a 5ft strip light seemed unreasonable. CS via phone was no better - rep didn't know who/what was going on, couldn't follow what the problem was until i promised to put it in an email to him...to which he's not replying.

Hi Andy, We corresponded with you by email on this issue as you will be aware. You ordered a TL80/10R tube from our website that is in the Specialist UV category on our website. It clearly states Ultra Violet for specialist applications when you visit our website. The markings on the tube you ordered don't in anyway match the markings on the tube you had in situ , so we really are baffled as to why you ordered this lamp. We show our telephone number on our home page so if you were in any doubt its easy to make a call to us

Found a difficult to source lamp at a good price
Products accurately and fully described so I was able to buy just what I needed. Which was an obscure discontinued line, so a good result.
Delivery was slow though.

Lamp didn’t work and no response from company
Made a purchase on line, the box the lamp arrived on was slightly squashed and when I screwed in the lamp it didn’t work. Have made 2 attempts to contact this company for either a replacement or refund and received no reply or acknowledgment.

Regarding the lamp not working, we understand how disappointing this must be. It’s possible that damage occurred during transit, which can sometimes happen despite our best efforts to package products securely. Fantastic customer service
I was looking for some replacement fluorescent tube bulbs for my elderly mother's kitchen light and came across General Lamps online. I do not live locally to Mum so I needed a reliable source of bulbs who could deliver to her direct. The bulbs she required were out of stock but the advice was to ring them direct which I did and they very helpfully advised of a suitable alternative option which was available immediately. They also very kindly helped with sorting out delivery and went above and beyond to get the bulbs to Mum direct. Mum was really appreciative of their help, particularly with the delivery side and I am really grateful for their kindness and willingness to get these to Mum. Thanks so much for your help.

Hello Phillip, you informed us off the broken bulb on the 28th of November that the bulbs you received were broken. We replied to you on the 29th of November offering a replacement or refund to which you chose refund and we have refunded you straight away.
Goods occasionally get broken as they are made of glass.
Please rest assured that we would not send out broken goods to customers.
The envelope that you received your goods in are bubble wrapped on the inside to secure the package.

Thanks for providing the additional information. I can see the issue Osram discontinued this product as an upgraded more efficient LED source became available . As soon as we received the new model we supplied it to you . You can be assured that the new model will provide the same or an improved performance over the one that you had previously used.
It has highlighted an area that we can improve on , our service team will now go through back orders that we have, that have not been fulfilled by a supplier and find out how long a delay will be . We will then be able to go back to our customers and advise them of any delays and changes to product specification
