Excellent service. Light bulb arrived in perfect condition (unlike from some other suppliers) as it was so well wrapped. Will be ordering more bulbs soon.

I placed an order for four bulbs on 12 Jan 2025. The status listed was "Call for availability" but my first mistake was not to have called before placing the order. As I only learned later when I spoke on the phone to someone, "Call for Availability" actually means that they are actually out of stock. I have never been able to buy stuff online that was out of stock, and therefore this was a misrepresentation on their website. They have denied that I had been misled.

I never received any updates on my order and I have had to email them, but without any response. So I had to call. I called around 10 times, the cost of my time has far outweighed the cost of the bulbs or the cost of looking for other alternatives online. I should have given up long ago but in the last 3 calls, I kept being told "they should be back in stock in the next week or in the next two weeks". Finally on my last call, I was told the timeline for my order still could not be determined.

From a customer's point of view you should clearly put "Out of stock" and not sell the item until it comes back to the warehouse. It's that simple. You cannot effectively take a customer's money for four months (or it could have been even longer) with no update and no explanation in writing or no management of the customer's expectations.

Let's see how long it takes for me to get my money back.

General lamps is one of the few suppliers of the light bulbs. It’s a straightforward website to use and delivery was quicker than anticipated.

Order was placed and payment taken. No contact or delivery for 2 weeks so chased the order. They didn't reply to this chase for 6 days. Half order in stock half no idea when will be in stock. If i hadn't of chased they would have never told me this. Asked to send stock items, they didn't reply or send them. Chased again 7 days later. Finally posted stock items a month after original order! Asked for refund for out of stock items. Had to chase refund 12 days later, finally refunded a month and a half after placing the order.
Communication is terrible.
I would avoid buying from this company!!

3 led tubes were bought as diret replacements for flourescents. They arrived well packed but one was still broken on arrival. This has been replaced. Good products and good service.

Ha to return lamp too small . Cost more in postage to deliver and return.

This is the worst website and company I have ever encountered, with absolutely no service. I ordered seven light bulbs, but one was not shipped. I sent an email and received what seemed like an automated reply. Nearly two weeks later, it still hadn't been shipped. I emailed again, but there was no response—no emails, no shipping updates. After 18 days, I finally received my order, but one item was missing. There was no apology or explanation. Now I have to email them again to ask about it. I urgently needed my items, and this has wasted a lot of my time.

Easy to use website. I was kept informed of when delivery was due. Lamps were delivered on the day and date given.

Previously I have been very happy but customer service this time was dreadful. 23/01/25 wrong lamps delivered. In the following telecon, I declined a refund and agreed new bulbs would be sent. 23/01/25 I returned wrong bulbs using prepaid label. 27/01/25 my payment card credited but I was not informed. 06/02/25 I rang for update. Was told replacements had been lost in post. New ones would be sent. 17/02/25 I rang for an update. Spoke to an unsympathetic, unforthcoming person. They said delay due to wait for sufficient customers to justify a bulk order from overseas. Suggested I buy twice as many bulbs, which may or may not be correct and install the complete set in my light fittings so the bulbs all matched.

Needed to replace a neon tube (they've stopped manufacturing them). Telephoned and was given good advice about replacement. Emails were also answered. Product ordered did the job.

Great service, quite difficult to get in shops.
